I hesitated for quite a while because there was only one review available. Actually, the room facilities were of very high quality; the owner was very attentive, and the room's amenities were comparable to those of a star-rated hotel. The bed was also very comfortable, making it excellent value for money. The guesthouse is very close to the No. 6 Rice Terrace, making it convenient and offering beautiful views of the sunrise. I was lucky enough to see the sunrise this time, making it a perfect trip. The only downside was that the wooden stairs were quite noisy.

Viewpoint No. 6 is the best spot for watching the sunrise and has a high vantage point; it's not far from the guesthouse as you walk up the street. Locals prefer to build their houses with cedar wood because it needs proper moisture control, as brick walls are prone to mold. While it may not be soundproof, it offers a genuine wooden cabin experience. The most amazing thing was the food. The owner's motto is ”whatever's available, we'll eat,” with freshly caught and prepared fish with quick and skillful movements. In the morning, we told the owner we wanted rice paddy fish, and he went to catch them himself that morning. In the evening, we had a free-range chicken (one chicken and two portions), and when we asked what we wanted for the next day, he recommended loach. After dinner, he went to catch loach himself. The owner will also help you prepare various dishes and soups, so order with confidence and reasonable prices. The rice paddy fish had clean bellies without any black membrane. This is a natural ingredient you can't find in cities or towns. The air was fresh and clean; even after rain, my glasses dried without any residue. The owner's diligence and reliability inspired trust. After two days of enjoying beautiful scenery and delicious food, I experienced the wonderful mountains, clear water, fresh air, and friendly people. Parking is free for those driving. The scenic area has shuttle buses that run every 15 minutes to take people to six viewing platforms and the spiral terraces. I visited the mirror-like terraces (viewing platform No. 1) in April or May, and I want to come back in September to see the autumn harvest scenery. It's truly a heavenly place.

Let's talk about the location of the hotel first. It's right next to the No. 3 Observation Deck. You can overlook the No. 3 Observation Deck from the hotel. Let's talk about the scenery. It's worth coming here. The terraces are green in this season. It just rained when I went there. The air is very fresh. The terraces and trees have just been bathed. They are very green. Let's talk about the hotel environment and facilities. There are many local specialties on the menu of the restaurant on the first floor, which can meet the needs of tasting local food. The boss, Sister Hu, said that the vegetables are all local and pure green, and they are delicious. The decoration of the hotel is very interesting, the layout is warm, and there are ornaments on the doors. It's not gorgeous or vulgar (it's also possible to see the beautiful scenery and feel good to see everything. Hehehe). The front desk and service staff: very friendly and considerate. The one who impressed me the most was Sister Hu. As a j person, I don't make plans and go wherever I go. I choose to come to Canada just to get extra pounds. I didn't think about where to go later. I talked to Sister Hu while eating. She helped me plan it and recommended me to go to Xiayao. The drive is just over 40 minutes. There is a Chinese wine on the tip of the tongue. It tastes very good. Thank you Sister Hu for the recommendation. By the way, let me say Jiapian, the scenery is beautiful and the facilities are very complete. It should be more beautiful in July and August when the terraces turn yellow. I look forward to coming again then 😁 I heard that the No. 3 platform is the sunrise viewing platform. I will come here again when the time comes. It would be amazing if I could see the sun rising from the golden terraces in the room in the morning. (A few photos with camera and aerial photography)

Guest UserThe hotel is located on the No. 6 rice terrace. You can buy a ticket at the village entrance service center and take the shuttle bus. You can also drive in. If you drive, you need to make a reservation one day in advance and give your license plate to the hotel owner for registration. The drive from the service center to the hotel is about 20 minutes, so driving is recommended for convenience.
The owner built and renovated the house himself. The room is spacious and clean. The room has natural light on both sides, and the view is very expansive. In October, the sun started to rise around 6:00 a.m.
The hotel offers dining options. Dinner and lunch are served at the hotel, and the owner cooks his own meals. Recommended dishes include fish, chicken, and bacon, all local specialties. The rice wine is also very good.

Transportation: Very convenient. The guesthouse is located at a higher point, near the sixth viewing platform of the terraced fields scenic area, easily accessible by sightseeing bus. As it's the final stop on the uphill route, you can directly catch the downhill shuttle bus, avoiding the situation where the bus is full at previous stops.
Environment: The guesthouse is bright, spacious, clean, and hygienic.
The owners are very attentive, even providing disposable towels and toilet seats in the rooms for guests with higher hygiene standards.
Service: The owners are very welcoming. There's a dining area on the first floor. You can order some home-style dishes, all very delicious. The chicken used for the chicken soup is freshly killed, taking a little longer but resulting in exceptionally fresh flavor. You can leave your luggage at the guesthouse while sightseeing during the day, and if you get tired after walking to other viewing platforms, you can contact the owners to have your luggage brought back.
Food: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available. The owners cook their own food, with simple home-style seasonings, and the spiciness can be adjusted. The main appeal is the freshness of the ingredients. The chicken soup is a must-order; the cabbage is incredibly flavorful. The stir-fried beef with celery is a generous portion that will fill you up, and the celery is even tastier than the beef. Breakfast includes rice noodles, corn, and sweet potatoes. The prices are reasonable and fair; they don't overcharge just because it's in a tourist area.
Other: The owners are a warm and welcoming family. You can even watch the young owner pet his tabby cat – a truly pleasant experience.

The host of this accomodation is what makes this place extra special! She was very attentive to any enquiry that we had and was super sweet! The house is in the traditional style so is a little noisy when moving around at night, the beds are hard but clean and the shower is hot with good pressure, plus the location is directly opposite from the entrance to Basha village so it is very convenient! She helped us to arrange a very good price for a driver to take our family to Congjiang railway station on departure and boiled us some eggs for breakfast as the driver came early and we didn’t have time eat.

The room was on the third floor with a beautiful view. Sitting by the window drinking tea was very pleasant. The guesthouse is right by the main road, very close to Viewpoint No. 1, just a 3-minute walk, which is very convenient. The only downside is that the stairs are too narrow, making going up and down a bit inconvenient. However, there's a terrace downstairs where you can sit and watch the clouds rise and see the sunrise in the morning. The cleanliness was acceptable, but the squat toilet wasn't quite what I was used to!

Fed2Very nice stay for a quick 1 night stopover.
The property is right by the train station, which is what I was looking for to be able to catch an early morning train.
In terms of location it really depends what you are looking for, surely there's not much to do around and it felt like being in a very remote authentic village, so it's a nice experience but if you have a car it's definitely a plus.
The owner doesn't speak English but he's been very nice and accommodating.
The room is simple with squat toilet but it has everything and it's absolutely clean and comfortable.
