The Tap Cottage Lovely place, stayed there Easter weekend, well decorated and lovely comfy beds, fantastic bathrooms, plenty of space and very clean, had a problem with the heating on the ground floor so got given bubbles n chocolate, tea and coffee available in kitchen. Stockbridge pricey but lovely..

We had a very pleasant overnight stay at The Grosvenor. We had a no pet room Upper Test Room. Unusual decor but very nice and cosy. Very good bedding and towels. A small bathroom but with a very good walk in shower and Elemis products. A good breakfast and food choice in the dining area. It’s the most unusual decor green and red bar area. Very clean in all areas. The grounds look very good and outdoor bar opening in two weeks time. We will stay again.

We truly cannot recommend the Grosvenor highly enough. We were able to use the beautifully decorated Library Room for our daughter's and son-in-law's proposal and celebration. They helped us with all plans & to make it very special. Great service, food & staff. Wonderful!! A gem of a place. Thank you Grosvenor staff.

I recently held a 70th birthday party at the Grosvenor Hotel in Stockbridge. It was a superb experience. The staff to a woman and man were delightful: welcoming and efficient. They provided an ideal nicely furnished room which comfortably held the 32 of us. Canapes were delicious, wines and other refreshments ideal. Altogether the atmosphere was excellent and widely commented on accordingly by my guests. Many thanks to all and especially to Miranda who organised it Finally - and not insignificantly - the bill was most reasonable. Highly recommended

First time here after a recommendation. Cannot fault anything. The menu is fantastic, I was in turmoil deciding what I wanted. Got the choice right. Great staff, great food and great ambience. Thank you for a lovely evening! We will be back again soon.

We had booked the library for a family lunch during the xmas break with family from USA, London, Manchester and Poole. It was a great meal. 2 of us stayed over in the hotel. We loved the traditional but modern style. It was a great break and a great price through *******

I booked our stay here based on the many positive reviews but I’m sorry to report that my review will not be so positive. We checked in before our room was ready, which had been agreed by email because we would not actually be using the hotel until after dark so wanted to make the check in process easier for both us and reception staff. The hotel looks lovely from the outside with a lovely Christmas tree and nice decorations inside. However the festivity stopped there. As we arrived on boxing day it would have been nice to have been asked about our Christmas or even if our journey had been nice, but no niceties at all. Just quite a cold welcome. This was the same “cold welcome” from another reception lady, in the early evening when we actually waited at reception for over 5 minutes before being attended to, despite several members of staff passing us and our luggage. Once checked in we were personally shown to our room, which was overlooking the courtyard/garden: this was a nice touch. After 10 minutes or so I realised that the bedding was feathers which I am severely allergic to (and had requested via the booking platform I used to have hypoallergenic bedding), so I went back to reception to ask if the bedding could be changed. As I waited at reception, I saw the lady who had shown us to our room heading towards me down the corridor, so I approached her to tell her of the bedding problem. Without a word, she went back to the reception desk and began typing something. As she didn’t tell me what she was doing, I presumed she was looking for another room with non feather bedding, but it turned out that she was checking my booking for my request which she said she could not see. Making me feel very much to blame for a simple error. I asked if she did have any alternative bedding, which she did have and followed me back to my room where we changed the bed together. I was appreciative and said I was sure that I had put in the request and apologised for any inconvenience this had caused. We stayed here for 2 nights and other than breakfast, had no interaction with any members of staff. Each time we entered the hotel, where the main door faces the reception, no one looks up to greet you. In fact it feels like they do their best not to interact with the guests. it feels very rude and cold. The first morning I ordered the poached eggs on smashed avocado on toast. The eggs had barely been poached and were almost completely raw, snotty and cold (my son’s breakfast was quite cold too and I think this is because the kitchen appears to be the other end of the hotel so possibly sits waiting for staff to collect it for some time), so I had to leave the eggs on the plate. When the waitress cleared the table she looked at my plate with a look of disgust that I had not eaten the eggs. I, again, apologised, stating that they were so undercooked. She said “oh sorry” and took the plate away. Based on the fact that I had only eaten one slice of toast with avocado, I

A real haven of peace, discovered on a stormy day of travelling, The Grosvenor is a handsome hotel on the high street in Stockbridge, with a choice of bars, bright and modern decor, and the benefit of a car park at the rear. The food was delicious, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly (we were "walk-ins" and not dressed for eating out) although there were rather long waits, but we thought that was probably because it was just after Christmas. We would have had more than one course if we'd had time. The terrace garden looks as if it would be a very pleasant place to spend a summer afternoon. We felt very comfortable with the relaxed ambience and would love to return for a stay.

What a wonderful hotel both design wise and service. We stayed in a very convenient garden room with the comfiest of beds and a well equipped bathroom with beautiful walk in shower and Elmo’s toiletries. The lounge and bar areas are beautifully decorated and the food outstanding (particularly the crab linguine which not only tasted delicious but the presentation was superb). The wine and cocktail list is well rounded with great choice including local wines. Looking forward to visiting in the summer and sitting in the courtyard garden with a glass.
