Sugar Hill Inn

Disappointing! Restaurant closed, bathroom sink clogged; room was freezing; thermostat not working; will never stay again Room cost almost $300. When in area will find another place to stay that is worth the high price. No one at desk at night or in the morning.

Sugar Hill Inn exceeded our expectations on a relaxing couples retreat. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the facility felt like a cozy home. The staff were absolutely welcoming and did everything in their power to make this an outstanding experience. The dinner was by far worth the two hour drive. I would go again just to have the roast duck with gnocchi!!! The chef was top tier and made sure we got a five star dinner. All this paired with the fresh mountain air set in the quiet part of New Hampshire made it hard to go back home! Job well done to everyone who accommodated these very happy tired parents of four!

This is the classic B&B, IMO! That great wood burning fire greeting you in the Lobby. And that wonderful library. And everybody helpful and cheerful and authentic. Get to meet the owner/manager by booking his wonderful bourbon tasting event but save the good stuff for me, please! When we visited during the shoulder season, when the autumn leaves have fallen and before the ski season begins, as we love to do, to not have to wait for a restaurant (one of the few that is open!) and to be able to afford New Hampshire attractions, like the ride on the COG Railroad up Mt. Washington, we love the scenic drives w/o the traffic. When the leaves have dropped, the early winter New Hampshire sky is a wonderful, Steven King like portrait, and you can enjoy a fantastic view of the New Hampshire mountains and their secrets. I loved our stay for 1 wonderful night at the Sugar Hill Inn and I hope to return someday. Great breakfast but restaurant was closed for dinner during our stay. We did not care! Please tell them that Mike and Pat sent you!

The rooms were spacious and very nice. Everyone who worked there was friendly. The food was very good. I was a little concerned that the very large tub did not have a mat inside (to prevent slipping) nor a grab bar in case I lost my balance. There was no snow on the ground but we traveled nearby to snowshoe.

Sugar Hill Inn is one of the best places to stay near Franconia or Crawford Notch. The owner, Christopher, is a great guy who pays attention. The breakfast is first class and is included. For dinner, we ate at The Gyspy Cafe in Lincoln & Cold Mountain Cafe in Bethlehem, both are excellent. We hiked the Mt Jackson trail and it was a great hike, a good workout! Highly Recommend Sugar Hill Inn.

Our stay at the Forest View cottage in Sugar Hill Inn just after Christmas 2023 was delightful. The cottage featured a cozy gas fireplace stove and an exceptionally comfortable California King bed, complemented by a luxurious walk-in shower with excellent water pressure. Each morning, we enjoyed a fabulous breakfast that included home-baked goods and a variety of breakfast options. The Inn itself exudes charm; we spent a relaxing afternoon reading in the main parlor by the warmth of the wood-burning fireplace. Dining at the Inn was a delightful surprise – far from the standard fare, the gourmet cuisine was truly outstanding. The service deserves special mention - the attentiveness of the staff (thank you Hope!) and the impeccably timed delivery of the four-course prix-fixe meals was remarkable, equaling the finesse of a five-star restaurant and showcasing the kitchen staff's extraordinary skill and coordination. The Inn's location is ideal, close to Littleton with its quaint shops and picturesque covered bridge over the river. We enjoyed spending time at the Shilling tap room, enjoying brews by the fireplace. Although Sugar Hill had no snow, a mere 30-minute drive north took us to Brenton Hills, a beautiful winter wonderland. We are already looking forward to our next visit! Debra and Charley

Everything at this inn is impeccable...friendly staff, very clean and comfortable, great food. This wasn't our first stay, and it won't be our last. We will be back!

This inn was perfect. It is a bit expensive but we just said one night as a splurge and did feel it was worth it. We were very cozy in our room. The heat worked so well, the sitting area was lovely. The bed was massive and super comfortable. We enjoyed the jet tub to relax after a long day of driving. The restaurant was closed for dinner when we were there but we had breakfast in the morning and it was amazing. There were a few options we chose an open faced breakfast sandwich and banana Nutella French toast and they were out of this world. helped justify the cost! Also got fresh apple turnovers and some fresh fruit. The staff at breakfast were really on top of things and checked on us regularly and really made us feel welcome and taken care of. We would definitely return! We stayed in the Beckett room which is attached to the main building and we thought it might be loud but we didn't hear anything.

What a gem! It’s hard to find a small family run inn with so much to offer and it be done well! While I agree the breakfast was okay the dinner was magical. We are high end foodies who found the meal just fabulous, with the lamb charred to perfection. There are different chefs between breakfast and dinner which can explains the contrast. We also had the whiskey tasting, and the owner knows his whisky as we agreed with his favorite and since have purchased a bottle, thank you for that fun find! It’s sad to see folks complaining about small issues without looking at the larger picture. The home is from the 1700’s so if you want a perfect experience where you hear no sounds go to a new build that is air tight and has less of the homey experience and features. With that said we didn’t hear anything except occasional water from another unit and it didn’t bother us. The Richardson Suit is great because it’s connected to the Inn on the first floor (no stairs) so you can stay cozy and walk to dinner from your room (other rooms/suits you’ll have to walk from outside or upstairs). We has massages which are fantastic! We get massages regularly and found the convenience and quality of having them at the Inn just wonderful. The staff as kind, accessible and accommodating. If someone isn’t having a good experience at the Inn, they might want to look internally rather than blaming others or the Inn. Thank you for offering and operating a wonderful local Inn for travelers to enjoy. Truly appreciated the love you put into this property and have since book another stay!
