Just a little fun fact: Guoqing Temple is in Taizhou, and Han Shan and Shi De were two eminent monks. However, the execution is severely lacking; from the hardware to the service, it feels like an unfinished product. Arriving at 9 PM, the front desk was a chaotic mess, leaving an extremely poor first impression. Checking in felt like a battle – smokers, drunk guests, people asking to switch rooms, and families with kids were all crowded around the front desk. There were no staff members guiding or maintaining order; the lobby was left to resemble a Chinese New Year travel rush scene. Smokers were everywhere in the elevators and corridors, with unextinguished cigarette butts elegantly burning their lives away on the floor tiles. While this isn't entirely the hotel's fault, the fact that this hotel attracts such guests should serve as a reference for others drawn in by the design and photos. I asked a front desk agent for a wine ice bucket. He hesitated for a moment before agreeing. After a long wait, a housekeeping lady knocked on our door, awkwardly holding a salad bowl full of ice and saying they didn't have an ice bucket, asking us to make do. It was then that I understood why the front desk agent had hesitated – the hotel actually doesn't have ice buckets, but he could pass the buck to housekeeping. The steps for screen mirroring were quite complicated. I called the front desk, and as soon as I explained the issue, the receptionist immediately told me she would send a housekeeping lady to help. By then it was 10:30 PM, and my wife and I were already showered and in bed. I insisted she tell me the steps over the phone, and the problem was solved. Think about it: the steps were indeed a bit complex, but not impossible to figure out myself. The front desk's first reaction was to pawn it off to housekeeping, just to avoid the guest taking up her time. Saying it's all flash and no substance might be an exaggeration, but I had to get this off my chest.
