The Cobbler Hotel

Fantastic location, beautifully presented and a pleasure to stay there. The fittings and furnishings are simple yet stylish. The rooms are great, the bed is very comfortable and that bathroom is just perfect. It’s honestly hard to find anything negative to say about this excellent find. Thank you so much

Great new boutique hotel. Very friendly proprietors. Although there is no reception on site, they’re very responsive to emails and clearly care about your experience. No noise at night, very comfortable beds and a great shower. Love the complimentary drinks and snacks in the room, a lovely touch. Also a perfect location to stay in Wellington with lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Lovely hotel, beautiful use of an old building in a perfect location. Appreciated the little things - welcoming snacks, kitchenware and even two different options for my bedtime sleepytea! Bed super comfy, shower amazing. Yes some noise at night but you get that with the location! The windows are noise attenuated and they provide earplugs if you're noise sensitive. Only minor issue was the bathroom door wouldn't stay closed & while I loved the bathroom mirror lighting concept, the lights didn't illuminate the mirror itself due to their placement. Also would benefit from somewhere to hang the hand towel. None of these issues were a problem for me though as I was alone & the massive mirror in the room had great natural light for makeup. It's a brand new hotel and was otherwise perfect. The check-in process was flawless and it was incredibly easy to get in touch when I had a question. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Wellington.

Our stay at the Cobbler was wonderful! The room was beautiful, the bed was so comfortable and the personal touches really made us feel right at home. The owners were responsive and accommodating and made our stay feel so easy! CANNOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH

This place is fantastic, the layout of the room was excellent as some rooms in Wellington can be very small, this was not huge but perfectly formed. We met Jarrod who was just lovely. The room was well equipped however with so many eateries around we did not use any of them. The welcome package was a nice surprise and well received. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very stylish. The bed was comfortable and the soft pillows were scrumptious. On top of all that the location was amazing, Fortune Favors a two minute walk, Swimsuite cafe a two minute walk (does the best cheese scones), and Mr Goo’s right next door, the food was to die for. Te Papa a 7 minute walk and you were surrounded buy shops and other eateries. This place is the whole package and will never look at any other accommodation when back in Wellington.

What a lovely space, so thoughtfully laid out. Close to everything. We stayed in the library, it was so well setup. Wish we had stayed more than one night. Full kitchen, lovely comfy lounge dining room. 3 bedrooms with lots of pillows and blankets. What a great space, so near all the restaurants

Wow! Honestly the cosiest & warmest feeling hotel room I have every stayed in - EVER! From the colours of the decor, to the high quality of the sheets & doona, to to the beautiful dark crockery, the gold cutlery, the artwork talking back to the city of Wellington, the warm low lighting, the plush carpet under your feet, the beautifully selected tiles in the bathroom and to the shower - WOW the ultimate rainforest shower (even my 6ft4 husband was impressed). So much thought has gone into the aesthetic of this hotel to make you feel you have arrived to a warm & welcoming New York style apar**ent. The communication from the owners was next level, via email, phone & text...you can tell they are the owners and take great pride in their hotel and want every guest to have the best stay possible. My ultimate tick was them knowing we had our 4yr old son with us and they left a little gift bag for him...it is the little things that show when people go that extra bit to show their appreciation and we absolutely loved it (and so did our son). Bravo to you and all your hard work, hoping you branch out to Australia so we can stay with you when we are travelling around again.

Cobbler was a great place to stay - clean, great location and quiet. They were very responsive via email even though there is no traditional lobby and whatnot. We had a very good experience.

The location of The Cobbler is excellent. Close to many great restaurants and bars. A very refreshing experience to stay in a hotel room that has had so much thought put into it and certainly not run of the mill hotel style. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms and there was plenty of space - very well appointed amenities. Some of the earlier reviews mention the noise but with the extra window protection they have put in we heard no noise from the local bars and we were there on the weekend and they were very busy. Even though there is no reception on site check in was seamless and communication excellent.
