Wylder Hotel - Tilghman Island

Had a wonderful spring getaway here! The setting is gorgeous and the staff (most especially Ramon!) was so helpful and friendly. Ramon went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. The off season was a nice time to take advantage of the bikes and beautiful firepits. Highly recommend!

The rooms are very small. The bathroom is very small. The shower stall is hard to move around in. The chairs in room are not comfortable. The bed is uncomfortable. Not a romantic couple’s weekend getaway. The breakfast was coffee, tea, cereal and fruit. The restaurant dinner meal was not very good. Had crab cakes and they were not very flavorful.The two positives were the drinks at the bar and the view from our room. Please do not come here.

I read about this hotel in Vogue and decided to take a solo trip to stay there in the off season. It occurred to me that my 2 best friends have birthdays the month I'd be going, so I called to see if my reservation could be modified to include the. I was fully prepared to pay an additional fee to do this, but Anton, an amazing customer service rep, gave me a free upgrade to include my friends. So, I haven't been yet, but based on my experience so far I'm very impressed.

The plus: arrived early for the weekend wedding after an overnight flight from AZ and was very excited that we would be able to check in by 12:30. Took naps outside in the hammock under the trees and breeze. Walked the grounds and we were getting ‘in the mood’. The not so plus: then we checked in… was presented with the smallest room ever (and I travel often) after having booked a room with a queen bed 8 months earlier. We were in room 33 of the main building (refuse this room if ever presented with it) up in the attic with a sloped ceiling (45 degree), all the utilities of the building right outside the window and had the brightest light coming through the triangular window above the other windows ALL night long. The A/C was elevated to the bed height and was maybe 15” away. I felt like I was sleeping with it, couldn’t hear a thing when it was running . And a full sized bed to boot. Here’s an idea, use this for a storage closet, not a paying room. There was no where to hang dress clothes (I mean no hangers, no place to place a hanger even if there were any) and the shower was so small, my wife had to go out of the shower to shave her legs. Pictures don’t do it justice, but here’s one of the ironing board they brought up for us to use.. The pool was nice and kayaks available, the sauna was very relaxing, but the cold water plunge was filthy - I assume the water was never changed after it was filled for us the first day (had to sign up for that).

The property is absolutely beautiful and located in a super convenient spot (only about 15 minutes from St. Michael’s). The room was pretty small and there was no microwave or refrigerator in it which was a little inconvenient but they do serve a continental breakfast which was yummy. The other downside to the room was that it smelled like mildew which was pretty disappointing considering what we paid to stay there. I have to give a HUGE recognition to Arman. We hit a deer while there (please be careful this time of the year as we were told it’s super common in the area) and he was the biggest help. He vacuumed the glass out of the car from the window breaking and tapped a garbage bag to the window so we could get home safely. He did more than most people would do. He was the highlight of our stay.

Run for the hills. This place has such potential but the manager and owners are asleep at the wheel. Total Disappointment , dirty and it’s only gotten worse my local friends say. The staff wouldn’t give waters and the room was pricey. No coffee maker. No refrigerator. The water pressure was so low that it took a long time to shower. No hot breakfast and the coffee was cold. I’ve stayed at better motels for $100
