Hotel Empire in Shinjuku Reviews

The hotel I booked via trip.com was not ready to serve the room and did inappropriate actions for the guest. The room's floor was broken (high possibility of getting injured), and the bathroom had noted that guest had to put their toilet paper in the trash bin after use due to weak water flow. (I have a photo of that notice). And after I complained to them, the receptionist yelled at me in Korean and kicked me out once. After that, he changed his mind to avoid making their responsibility worse. I need to get a refund. I submitted a cancellation request 3 times. But, the hotel rejected it to avoid to take their responsibility. I only stayed there for about 30 minutes to submit my cancellation request via my phone. And didn't make any mess or use any facility other than washing my hands in the sink.

I changed to another hotel immediately after checking in. It was too horrible, especially the washroom, just like a ******* house…I felt so uncomfortable so I will never come again.

Please never ever book this hotel! This is the worst “hotel” during my whole life. Please just don’t use it…..you can book cleaner hotel at the same price level, but this one not worth this money!

More like a motel than hotel. Also it’s closer to Shinokubo/Okubo than Shinjuku as advertised. Only consider this place if you really have nowhere else to go. Bathtub drainage is clogged. Room is hella old and smells very ancient/pungent screaming hard for some renovation, but cleanliness is okay. Appreciate the cleaning staffs efforts here. Beware that the management deliberately tries to squeeze every Yen out of you. I travel a lot and never have I ever been charged with late fees for checking out 15 mins over, anywhere else in the world including the AirBnb place I previously stayed for a week in Tokyo before I moved here to this hotel due to availability.

The hotel is clean and the receptionists are very accommodating plus it's near the JR Yamanote Line.

The hotel is really nice. The only tiny problem is that they do not change the bed sheets every day, you keep the same bed sheets. But the service is really nice, I really recommend

Good. The location is convenient and suitable for simple backpackers to travel. For example, two inns are very close to each other. You can use them however you want. And twin beds are rare in Japan. For me, it’s okay.

It was nice that all the staff were Korean. The location was also good.

It is less than 800m away from Shinjuku Kabukicho, but it is priced at the level of capsule hotels and youth hostels, and is very cost-effective. Since we are located in Satori, the street is relatively quiet, making it suitable for traveling alone.
