Kintarou Onsen

Hot springs are the best! It made my swollen legs feel refreshed. I felt like it was slowly working on my body. The large public bath shared with the day-trip hot spring was dynamic with lots of large rocks. The room was comfortable and I slept well on the bed.

When I stayed there 4 years ago, the room was a Japanese-Western style with an open-air bath, and they made me tea (not necessary now because of COVID) and had some kind of jelly in the fridge, which was a great hospitality. The bath had a sulfur smell, but there were many types and I was very satisfied. This time, the room was clean, but the bath was the same as before and was undeniably old. As for the food, it was obvious that there were not enough people, and the next dish was not served for a long time. They should have just left it out from the beginning. Considering the price, I don't think I will come again.

We stayed here on a tour to Kurobe. My family member developed a fever early in the morning, and we decided not to continue with the tour. We wanted to extend our stay and take them to a local hospital, but the inn's response was, "We're fully booked." When we told them that we had checked the availability on a travel site beforehand, they changed their attitude and said that they had availability, but that it was only for the travel site, so we had to check out and check in again. For someone with a fever. We asked if they could let us stay, but they refused, saying that they would have to adjust the room or something. They probably wanted to get rid of someone with a fever in this day and age, but they refused to let us stay. They also refused to bring breakfast to our room for hygienic reasons. We just wanted something that was easy to swallow to take our medicine. We didn't feel any consideration at all. I don't know if this is the hotel's policy or a personal decision, but this is a 4-star hotel. I will never forget that they lied to us and said that they were fully booked. Of course, I will never use them again.

The tatami mats were wavy, probably because the floor joists had fallen out. It was the first time I've ever been shown to such a terrible room. I question the manager's conscience. It was called the second annex, but if you're planning to stay there, it's best to check in advance.

I stayed here for three nights at the end of last year, and from the first night I could smell a strong stench of grilled meat in the kitchen at dinner time, which bothered me morning and night until I returned. It may be a well-established inn, but the building is old and dilapidated, and is on par with a guesthouse or health center, with constant drafts blowing in, which is why I assume this type of incident occurred. The inn's attitude was also very unfriendly. The food was also terrible, the rice was dry and hard, and the food was better in restaurants in town. I didn't know why I went there, and it was the first time I'd ever had such an unpleasant trip. I'll never go again...

The room has a great view of Mt. Tateyama, and the quality of the hot springs is excellent, but the jet bath is not working and some of the tiles are missing. As for the food, it was delicious because it was made from Toyama, but it was served so fast that I felt like I was being rushed to say, "Hurry up and finish eating."

All hot springs include lying down baths, pounding baths, jet baths, and open-air baths. All baths are hot springs. I am glad that you can choose from reasonable prices to luxurious contents prices with dishes and volumes.
