Taishoya

This is my first time leaving such a terrible review. I booked the Japanese-style room with a courtyard view, specifically because I was drawn to the photos showing a room with direct access to a garden and a private onsen. I paid over 3000 yen for it. Upon arrival, I was assigned a room on the second floor with no garden access. When I requested a change, the hotel staff told me all the rooms on the first floor (the ones shown in the pictures) were fully booked. This is absolutely outrageous, a clear case of false marketing and deception. Then, during check-in, they told me I could access the courtyard from the first floor. But when I asked a staff member the next day how to get in, they said it was a private area and not accessible. This is also the first time in Japan I've ever had to stand while checking into an onsen hotel that costs 3000 yen a night. Honestly, I recommend everyone planning to book this hotel, especially this room type, to steer clear. My complaint to get a full refund was also unsuccessful! Complete garbage 👎
