The location is good and the hotel is just fine. Need some renovation around the path leading to beach. Many opt for this location for ease of access to beaches, if that is not maintained it will lead to disappointment.
The SPA is not per the expectation and the maintenance of the spa is very bad. Food is above average. The buffet breakfast is fine but lacks variety for those staying longer. Overall it was a good experience. The attender at the pool Mr. Babu is very good, he should be awarded for his fine service. Overall the hotel staff are polite and well mannered and hear to our concerns.

Excellent Hotel with excellent services. The managers and staffs kept us very comfortable and most importantly accommodated to our toddlers meals during the stay. Very beautiful view as very peaceful hotel!

For 1 nights, I ***** with family stayed at Gateway Varkala. Hotel is situated near beach with a beautiful view from all rooms. We visited the hotel on Onam and we had the Sadhya Food which was very good. Staff was supportive. We visited cafes located on Varkala cliff. Then we visited Jatayu Earth centre. Jatayu Sculpture which is located on top of cliff and which can be accessed by Stairs or ropeway. Place is very nice if u r travelling with family We enjoyed the trip a lot Thanks Gateway Varkala for this experience!!

3. Honestly the experience is below my expectations. - No value for money. It’s a premium priced hotel/resort in the area and didn’t feel like it. - Hit’s: -hospitality of few staff members was good - resort is walkable distance to papanasam beach and janardhana temple - Garden area well maintained - Give a family pictures at the time of check-out Misses: -The washroom and room balcony needs complete renovation - Food at the restaurant is barely good. -the indoor activities and board games need maintenance.

I had a great stay and experience here in Gateway Varkala. Special callout for one of the staff members- Mr Shebin at the restaurant is a thorough professional and very courteous in his behaviour. I had developed throat allergy and he served me chikuu kappy couple of times ( a coffee with traditional herbs). He has been very prompt in his service and paid great attention to each and every customers requirement. Kudos to the warm hospitality at Gateway Varkala.

From the moment we arrived, the experience at Gateway Varkala was nothing short of outstanding. The front desk team, particularly Sudeep, provided a warm welcome and streamlined check-in that set the perfect tone for our stay. We were particularly impressed by the outstanding service provided by Sudeep, who consistently went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The hotel's attention to cleanliness and safety protocols was exemplary, making us feel completely at ease during our entire stay. We were particularly impressed by how the staff remembered our names and preferences, adding a personal touch to every interaction. Sudeep guided us on our plans which helped us to manage our day very well. Many thanks to Sudeep for his guidance and suggestions.

A very well located property with well appointed rooms. Excellent staff especially the Dining staff. Can recollect one name Mr Gokul who was always at hand even during busy breakfast hours. Sumptuous local food at the restaurant. Overall, a SUPERB STAY.
