The Appalachian at Mountain Creek

Communication and service was lacking at the hotel. Confusing check in for someone not familiar with the process and nearly impossible to speak with a human for help. I called the "front desk" name times and no answer. Left voicemail and no call back. Texted and no response. Lines were extremely long for everything and wait times were outrageous. The slopes were all ice and extremely crowded, people hitting into each other all over the place. Room was decent but no service unless staying 4 days, so you have to try to find the one person at the desk in the store and 2 out of 3 times they're not there for extended periods of time.

Paper thin walls in room, only one available staff to answer questions and needs. Check in process was a bit stressful, received the check in access codes late at 4:17 pm. Did not receive enough wash clothes. Only 2 for a 4 person booking.

Garbage in room, front desk offered me a bag. Fireplace didn't work, maintenance never tried to fix. My 4 yr old daughter found the former guest pill box with pills! Asked for manager Justin to contact me, he never bothered. Stuck paying premium for a tired, old resort. old lackluster esort . Oparking parkparkin

I arrived to check in to the hotel. They have no check-in desk, which I was aware of. There is usually someone there in the shop or in the bar to help you at this point there was no one in the shop and no one in the bar. I located someone who was cleaning a room to help me attempt to get checked in. Initially, I was given a wrong room number to which The code would not open the door upon returning downstairs and a 20 minute conversation found I was given the wrong room and assigned a new room upon attempting to sign into that room. A gentleman came from outside that room and told me that that was his room. I returned downstairs And waited for approximately 45 minutes while they located a room for me. Accepted “had to be cleaned“ myself, my niece, and my daughter sat in the lobby for close to two hours during this whole process. When we did eventually get into the room, it was absolutely filthy crumbs on the carpet Tags from clothing that people had opened in the room still on the floor stains in the bathtub about as bad as you can expect without actually seen any kind of creature. The shop bar were not open at all that day due to low staff I hate to dog the place out because when I do get there, I have a fantastic time and I’ve stayed there multiple multiple times.While I can’t solve any problems as far as the amenities being open or closed, I have always had great success when booking through VRBO. I have never had a good experience when booking directly through the hotel.co

Another awesome time at mountain creek . Busy holiday weekend. Staff was on top of everything with a smile . 2 bedroom suite was comfy modern and cozy . Can’t wait until the next time

Room wasn’t clean, wine glass in bathroom, unmade bed, not clean sheets, grabgage everywhere, used towels in the floor. Issues with check in, got message for one room repeatedly and I had 3 different rooms, not a good experience

The Appalachian was extremely clean. The room was spotless. Check in and out was all through texts and online, very convenient. Highly recommend.

Room was clean but it was confusing not walking into a front desk. Had to go to the convenience store to check in, which wasn’t clear.

Not sure if it was just me but there was no phone in the room for emergencies
