Very nice boutique hotel, each room have a unic design. We loved the breakfast and the afternoon tea we definitely feel like home! Management is super helpful and kind definitely recommend it

A great base for exploring Vienna. Walking distance to everyplace we wanted to go, but in a quiet neighborhood. The old building feels so luxe. We liked the extra perks of breakfast and teatime inclusions, even though we didn’t get a chance to check out afternoon tea. Rooftop bar is amazing! Super comfortable room, we slept great and appreciated the AC during Europe’s heatwave. Oh! And I was so charmed to be greeted with a tiny cake under a glass dome. Love a city that takes cake seriously.

First, I must say, that Sara in Reception is an absolute gem. She is professional, friendly, and extremely helpful. This small boutique hotel is close enough to the city center that you can access restaurants, shopping, transportation, and of course museums. The hotel itself gives you all the amenities of a five-star hotel but with spectacular individual attention. The staff spoils you. The included breakfast will feed even the hungriest person. And their tea time also provides a wide selection of cordial’s and wine. Plus the added benefit of pastries and candies. The room itself is small but very comfortable. The bed and linens and pillows provide a very relaxing restful sleep. Wish we could stay longer. I highly recommend.

Lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff, clean and spacious rooms, and lots of character. Maybe not as centrally located as some other places, but within easy walking distance of u-bahn and trams etc. Would very happily stay here again in future!

The atmosphere in Hotel Altstadt was very special; art, literature and couple of times piano player made staying very memorable. Personal was very friendly. Breakfast was just lovely: porridge was everyday different and tasty. Teatime was enjoyable.

Beautiful, unique hotel in Vienna - a must stay for folks who love art and design. Aside from one jarring interaction with a waitress at breakfast - the staff was kind and professional, our room lovely and overall experience great.

A charming and luxurious hotel, with its esoteric layout betraying that the building wasn't originally designed for hotel use (e.g., the reception is on the 2nd floor, and you have to zig zag through hallways and doors to get to various rooms). The room decor is similarly quirky, with every room uniquely appointed. All this makes for a very charming and non-cookie-cutter experience. We stayed in two different rooms (64 and 86). Both were very well sized, and well-appointed. Beds were very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked great. [Between the two rooms, we preferred the latter, as Room 64 had the shower, toilet, and sink each in a separate room- an arrangement that ended up being impractical.] Other highlights included a plentiful breakfast and tea-time beverages and cakes; and the staff, who were all so kind and helpful throughout our stay. Finally, the hotel's location is great--central and convenient (several subway, tram and bus lines very nearby), but also comfortably removed from the heavily touristed innere Stadt. The Neubau district is also filled with excellent local cafes and restaurants, some barely a minute's walk from the hotel and you feel you are staying in a real neighborhood. I've stayed at other hotels in Vienna that may excel in specific areas, but this hotel takes the cake overall. I would definitely stay here again.

This was our second stop on our mother/daughter trip traveling to Prague, Vienna and Budapest. As a designer myself I absolutely loved the interior design and attention to detail and art. We stayed in the Library Suite. It was absolutely stunning. Huge windows, our own library and very spacious. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom well lit and equipped. Robes and slippers are provided. There is a frig, nespresso machine in the room. The breakfast area was lovely and food is delicious and varied assortment. It is around a 15-18 minute walk to major sites like the museum quarter and Sisi Museum. There are nice restaurants in the area. The staff are true hospitality specialist and go above and beyond to care for your stay.
