Lovely location, great game sightings, super game ranger, luxurious and relaxing accommodation - probably the best shower I've ever had - I highly recommend a stay at Safari Plains.

What an absolutely unforgettable experience. They most friendly and helpful staff, beautiful lodge with everything you need. Great activities available or just lounge by their pool or massive bar/lounge area. Excellent game drives to see the Big 5. Will definitely go back.

We visit Safari Plains to weeks ago with our 2 children for 2 nights and we have a fantastic time. The staff, the food and also the accommodation are great, and gives you a warm welcome. Also our ranger, Arthur, was the best ranger we could wish. He showed us all nice places and almost the big five in one day! He was relaxed with our kids and they loved everything he told them. We would recommend everyone this accommodation and hopefully we can visit it again in the future!

We had an incredible trip to Safari Plains. Sam was the best game drive leader we could have ever asked for. We saw the Big 5, we saw everything! The grounds are immaculate, and the tents are spacious and lovely. Highly recommend Safari Plains!!

Overall the experience was average. The tents and facilities need upgrading. Couches in the open living room area is dirty with marks all over. Curtains in the dining room look a bit worn. The luxury tents are long overdue for an upgrade. Bedding is old with marks on it and torn pillow cases. If you like a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner then this is your place. I personally don't like it at all as none of the food is really that good and it doesn't feel as if it is specially prepared to your liking and preference. Some of the game viewing vehicles don't have blankets while it is freezing cold during the morning game drives. You only get nescafe instant coffee in the morning during your game drive whereas I would appreciate some plunger coffee as it is just as much trouble but far better tasting. Also don't expect anything more than an Ouma rusk before or during the game drive. I'm always looking forward to a great experience and don't mind paying but I think this is way over priced for what you get.

I couldn't have asked for a better place for my kids to experience their first safari. Dries and his team are beyond exceptional - from the minute we arrived, to the minute we left. The accommodation is luxurious and authentic, the food was delicious - and nothing was too much trouble for a wonderful chef who didn't hesitate to create something special for a very fussy eater. If you are lucky enough to have Russell as your game ranger, your trip will be even more fantastic. We were totally spoilt and had the best time - the only problem is that it was too short! Thank you to all at Safari Plains for a magical holiday - we will never forget you! And a special thanks to Tom, who dropped everything to do an emergency run to the hospital when my husband dislocated his shoulder!

Mostly I lived safari plains. The game viewing was amazing, the good a plenty and fantastic but we had some weird incidents of the stay. A 90 minute massage that lasted 70min tops is just lazy and annoying. And this weird situation of the staff trying to Sell us water in refilled plastic bottles instead of giving us the free filtered water they'd been serving us all along. Whilst we still drank alcohol. Whyyyyy???

Excellent tented lodge and facilities. The game drive guides were knowledgeable and personable. What stood out for me though was the staff who were the most attentive, proud and smiley you could wish to meet.Nothing was too much trouble 👏

Visited Safari Plains as a guest of our Host that regularly takes their clients / customers / visitors when they visit Johannesburg, South Africa. Given that Safari Plains is a 'short' 2 1/2 hour drive from OR Tambo Airport (Johannesburg), the quality of both the accommodations and safari experience was excellent. If you're looking for a relexing 'glamping' safari experience ... visting Safari Plains will leave you more than satisfied.
