Wilderness Metanoia

The space was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had a calming atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone looking for more than just accommodation—this is a place to rest in every sense. Where the righteous lead, the people prosper 🌸

What a fantastic family holiday we had at Metanoia Wilderness! Highly recommended, true value for money. From Johan who welcomed us to cleaning and gardening staff - everyone friendly and helpful, will definitely rebook for another time! Chalets and garden in pristine condition, well done to all the staff.

When we drove through the entrance gates, it was like entering a quiet corner of heaven. Surrounded by lush green lawns, trees everywhere and the Outeniqwa mountains as backdrop. The host lead the way to our chalet, where everything was just perfect (and my wife is not easily pleased!) We enjoyed a sunset swim in the pool, and then light the fire on the stoep with the sun disappearing behind the mountains. When load shedding started, we switched off the inverter and gazed in silence at the heavens above. The next morning my daughter and I took the path down to the Silver river where we experienced the real wilderness up close. Sooo sad that we couldn't stay another night as offered by our host, but we will be back for sure. This was the perfect ending to our week in the Garden Route and definitely the highlight of the trip.

Firstly the name of the place we booked was Claiirwood Estate . We could not find as it does not exist. The name had been changed to Metanoia but we were not told. A neighbour near where the Google maps took us said to go there. No bell, no reception just tow big gates. Luckily gardener was in calling distance and let us in. Nobody to greet you and we assumed the one chalet with a key in the door was for us. No instructions in house re wifi, walks etc Everything well maintained and meticulous. lovely unit and big gardens and pool in forest. Great birding etc Just very weird to go somewhere and be the only people there with nobody to ask if we were even in the right place Eventually found a family member on the property who helped Very strange experience. Great board walks long path to rivers a few km away but no indication in chalet re anything at all.

Excellent stay at the Metanoia, hosts were warm and friendly, the view from the estate was breathtaking, the self catering unit was modern, spacious and comfortable, the estate was manicured to perfection, the location displayed the true essence of the Wilderness.

Wilderness Metanoia is a very unique place for all those who look for recreation in a wonderfully stylish and modern chalet, surrounded by lush nature and in a setting that allows stunning views of the Garden Route National Park mountain ridges. It's near enough to George and Wilderness with their restaurant and shopping offers and yet "miles away" when it comes to taking a break from the bustle of the well-trodden tourist paths. A gem of peace, harmony and contemplation.
