Morena resort is still a high valuable place to stay. In comparison to previous years however the quality is somehow dropping. At start several repairs were needed. The pool is not cleaned daily frequently enough, water is from time to time a bit foggy. But what is more disturbing is the maintenance of the garden. They cut at early start of flowering all flowers and buds, and by that taking away the food for bees. Bee killing will have a serious impact on nature and human food production. Reasons for cutting them so early it that it gives rubbish. Well this seems to me a non-argument. Human mankind should show more responsibility for nature and wildlife… already soooooo much destroyed also @ Curacao

A lot of mosquito into the roll , even a spider into my bed . The pillow was awful, it’s not a resort for a couple , they don’t have married bed !!!!!!!! The tower was child size !!!! Only 2 beds with different cover . Not a romantic place , it couldn’t be worse experience

Lovely stay. Simple but adequate villa, a bit dark on porch and inside. Pool areas are lovely and even at height of season the resort was quiet and peaceful.

We stayed at the Morena Eco Resort in December 2023 for what was supposed to be a relaxing week. Well it wasn’t relaxing and we couldn’t make it a full week at this place. When we were three days in, I went to the front desk and told them how unhappy we were with the accommodations and asked them to book us a taxi to another resort right after Christmas. I know the hotel will write some sort of “response” to this review, but quite honestly, when we were there they did NOTHING to rectify the situation and they actually made it worse after they knew we were leaving early. Firstly, let me say that we are Americans. I researched the resort and the island before we went but was not prepared to be the only Americans at the resort and they make you feel very excluded while you are there. We didn’t understand the language and none of the signs or menus are in English. They also do not have regular American electrical outlets at this resort. When we asked for help getting a converter for our devices, they gave us an old one that they acknowledged was likely broken, but that was all we had. It shorted out my phone and one of our tablets so now we have that expense when we get home. By comparison, everywhere else we went on the island had english menus. Hotel staff was barely courteous, but hot helpful or welcoming. They also seemed to have a different answer every time we asked for help, or not know what was going on themselves. Here is a breakdown of the good and the bad at this “resort”. We stayed at the Aura Apartments: 1. The bathrooms: Water is heated by solar panels. We had no warm water in the evenings for showering. The shower faucet is operated by a push button nob that only stays on for 25 seconds at a time. They only give you 4 hand towels for an entire family of 4. They do not provide a single bar of soap in the unit, not even for hand washing. When I complained about the lack of hot water, they made it clear that it was my fault for not telling them sooner about the issue. Fine, that’s on me. They eventually fixed it after a guy being at our unit ALL day, but when we finally did have hot water, we had no towels. On the taxi ride to the other hotel, the other guests confirmed they also had no hot water, but the hotel was so bad, they just thought it was normal. Maybe it wasn’t entirely my fault after all… 2. If you request extra towels or pillows, they tell you they will get it to you eventually. That usually means a 12-24 hour wait and then when the items are ready, they text you through WhatsApp and you have to walk yourself to the front desk to get them. (Even though the staff have golf carts). 3. The bedrooms look like tiny prison cells and each has 2 tiny cots with rock hard pillows. The rest of the unit has rock hard patio furniture that is dirty. 4. The “TV” was a 15 inch computer monitor mounted to the wall that barely worked and the picture was green. 5. Although they advertise “free” beach access, that’

Thought this was eco resort as in “ecotourism”. The eco means “economy”. The bed is like a camping mattress, the windowless bedroom (which is the only space with a/c) becomes a heat dome during power outages. (Other resorts had reliable power generators.) Think about sleeping in a windowless room when the nighttime temp is around 27* Celsius and the a/c doesn’t work due to power outage. Awful. The towels are no bigger than hand towels. Showers often cold due to solar water heat. The resort sprayed pesticides twice in our week there - nothing about this resort is ecological but it is economy. The restaurant was ok and the pools are nice but one closed for repairs - blasting out the concrete bottom while we were there which was only advised a day in advance and very noisy and made the remaining pool too crowded. Look at other options. Or be aware.

We were in the smallest room type for two at the back of the property. While it had the amenities as described, the room is very small even for two. The living room wall is louvered, so no A/C and easy for bugs to enter. We bought a citronella candle to help with this, but that was like blowing into the wind. The A/C is only in the bedroom, which is windowless. The beds are not comfortable as they easily split apart and the single mattresses slips easily off the frame. The bathroom sink was plugged and needed attention and the towels were very small. The pools were nice however work began on one with only a days notice. This forced all guests to the family pool if they didn’t want to listen to jackhammering. The staff are polite but I wouldn’t recommend this property as I clearly didn’t anticipate that eco resort would feel more like econo resort.

This was our dream vacation. Curaçao is a Caribbean island paradise with white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and plenty of corals, tropical fish and sea turtles. Morena is located in the southern part of Curaçao near Jan Thiel Bay. It's premise is that of an eco resort, minimizing waste, built on simple architecture, simple materials and solid construction, luxurious without being excessive, all in all tasteful. the good: -we rented a 3-bedroom individual cabin, with comfortable beds in the sleeping rooms, a complete kitchen, and a spacious terrace for our meals -resort organization was top notch with friendly, attentive and diligent staff who attended to our (many) requests, great check-in/out experience -breakfast and restaurant had all essentials with great food preparation and quality, even accomodating to our dietary restrictions -gorgeous pool areas and the pool water is kept crystal and clean -rent a car at competitive rates and drive all around Curaçao (a must to visit the great beaches!) the bad: -Mosquito issue (which may be seasonal). We arrived at night and because the cabin lights were on, there were a ton of mosquitos inside. Thus mosquito bed nets and repellent are a must. You learn to always close the bedroom doors -Cabin design is such that the living room cannot be used at night because there isn't a simple mesh to block insects from following the light inside at night the ugly: -really nothing to complain about, this a resort that we do recommend!

The resort is good. The houses are clean and so are the utensils. The bathroom is not big, a little bit old, but not dirty. It has an eco friendly shower which I did not like. You have to press the button after 10 sec or so. Showering with an infant makes it very annoying. The toilet had a smell, but they fixed it. The wifi is weak. There was no wifi in the bedroom. The mattresses are not tied together so it dislocates. Food from the restaurant is terrible. The doors are from glass so you don't have any privacy and the balconies are side by side so you can hear your neighbors. Other than that, we liked the resort. Very friendly staff. They allowed us to check in early, because we landed early and were traveling with a baby. The hostess let us stay in the cottage while waiting for the house to be ready. They have free yoga classes. They offered to make us a reservation at a restaurant. They have a big parking lot. The swimming pool has an area for kids. The beach is on walking distance and also a supermarket. This resort will see me again.
