I had a lovely stay at Magnolia hotel. They do not usually cater for foreigners. As a foreigner I was told I need to register with the local police station. Since I had no idea how to get there and the reception and I did not have a language in common, one of their lovely staff accompanied me to the police station. Upon speaking to someone there they said that I only need to register if I am staying longer than 5 days. For less there was no need. This was a good information for me and for the hotel.
Everyone was friendly, warm and kind.
The breakfast provided was plentiful and varied. Steam buns, dumplings, porrage, eggs, and much more.
My only complaint would be that cigarettes smoke with get into the room via the ventilation system. But we are in China after all and lots of people smoke :)
