Riding West International Youth Hostel(Six star Street scenic spot)

The location is fantastic, right in the Six-Star Street scenic area, specifically Lane 1, Liguang Street. It's also incredibly convenient for both the intercity bus station and the airport, making it perfect for exploring and dining out. As someone who's stayed in many hostels over the years, I'd confidently say this is the best-located hostel in Yining. The common areas are excellent, boasting a surprisingly good selection of books, and the cafe's projector is remarkably clear. It's very clean, most rooms are four-bed dorms, and having stayed for several consecutive days, I can confirm it was an excellent experience!

Great location, right on Liuxing Street. The surrounding commercial district and transportation are quite well-developed and convenient. The cleanliness looked good. As it was off-peak and not a weekend, I had a 4-bed dorm all to myself, which I found perfectly acceptable.

Luggage storage was just kept in the open at the busy front desk, which felt quite insecure. The bunk curtain wasn't long enough to fully block out light and was also very thin/translucent. The lockable locker provided for luggage in the room was tiny. There was no light within the bunk itself. The small fan with a light they provided was dead. The bed was the hardest I've ever slept on in any hostel. There were only two communal bathrooms per floor, which were combined shower, sink, and toilet facilities – and consequently very damp. The only upsides were its excellent location and decent value for money. That's pretty much it.

This is likely the best hostel in the area, far superior to those overhyped, 'influencer-friendly' places! It's clean and orderly, which is the main thing – just keep your expectations reasonable for domestic accommodations. The location is fantastic, offering easy access to everything.

My trip to Yining was a last-minute decision, so the accommodation booking was quite rushed. Initially, the photos looked good. Let's get straight to the pros and cons! Pros: The price was reasonable, and the location on Liuxing Street is excellent. Although there's no elevator, the front desk staff were very helpful with luggage, and since it's not many floors up, climbing wasn't strenuous. There's a large terrace upstairs, which was very convenient for drying clothes. The water heater provided quick, strong water flow. Despite facing the street, it was surprisingly quiet. Cons: The first room we were given had dirty bedsheets, and the drawers contained dust and hair. The owner attributed it to oil from a previous guest's takeout and promptly moved us to another room. It's baffling why a room, if not properly cleaned, would be offered to a new guest, regardless of the mess's origin. The bed in the new room was clean, and while there was still some dust in corners, it wasn't too bothersome. However, at night, I noticed the toilet paper dispenser was full of white powdery dust, which was quite off-putting. The guesthouse itself is quite new, and the location is excellent. However, the owner seriously needs to get on top of the cleaning!

The guesthouse is ideally located right on Six-Star Street. It's quiet, yet very convenient for catching a taxi. The host was wonderful, even helping us with our luggage. All the rooms feature large floor-to-ceiling windows, making them incredibly bright and peaceful. Plus, it was spotlessly clean.
