The bathroom with separate wet and dry areas is also equipped with a bathtub, where you can rest when you are tired. Gui Jie (Ghost Street)

Many restaurants are open 24 hrs, but the street is at its most lively in the evenings. This mile-long food street features more than 150 restaurants and has been serving up late night noms since the Qing Dynasty. With its iconic red lanterns, it’s difficult to miss and provides a lively night market experience that won’t break the bank. The restaurants here serve specialties from all over China, with some of the most popular being crayfish, bullfrog, hotpot, and chuan chuan (spicy skewers in soup). Our tour guide bought us here. He said this is the place where locals comes for eats and drinks after dark, thus the name. The spicy small lobsters are very good. Remember to ask for the mild spice level. It is already extremely spicy for almost everybody in my opinion. The lobsters are to be ordered in quantities of 10. #beijingtrip #urbanexplorer #cityoverlook

Is Shichahai really worth visiting?

Is Shichahai really worth visiting?

✨Efficient and not tiring tour of Shichahai (it's best to come around just before noon) Start from the small alley next to the south gate of the Lotus Flower Market, where you can first encounter 'Sanhe Daoxiang Village'. There are several Daoxiang Village shops here, and you can choose to buy specialties as needed Following the path, you can see 'Nanmen Shuanrou'! Remember to get a number first because you can only get a number offline and the waiting time starts from at least an hour and a half After getting the number, continue along the path, cross the small bridge to the opposite bank to find 'Sugar House Coffee'. Here you can enjoy the air conditioning, have a cup of coffee, and enjoy the moment of tranquility. After a short rest, you can go and eat authentic old Beijing instant-boiled mutton. Additionally, the Lotus Flower Market has many interesting cultural and creative shops and photo shoot spots. After eating, it's also great to stroll around the lively market. Wait until the evening sunset to return to Shichahai, find the Yinding Bridge to watch the sunset, and wait for the sea of orange, it's really beautiful! 🎙Introduction: Shichahai is a historical and cultural tourism scenic area and a historical and cultural preservation area in Beijing. Located in the central urban area of Xicheng District, it is the largest and most intact historical district in Beijing. Shichahai includes three bodies of water: Qianhai, Houhai, and Xihai (also known as Jishuitan) and the adjacent areas, echoing the 'Front Sanhai', commonly known as 'Back Sanhai'. Shichahai is also written as 'Shicha Sea'. Since the Qing Dynasty, it has become a place for leisure and summer retreat, and is one of the famous scenic spots in Yanjing 💕Tips: If you want to take a boat tour, there are several ports, but you generally have to queue for a long time, and it's super hot to tour the lake in hot weather, so be prepared for sun protection to prevent heatstroke Many bars in Houhai are traps, don't get tricked To get a good seat at Sugar House Coffee, you need to go early and wait Nanmen Shuanrou serves too much food, so order less

I had a great time at Aesop.

This is a place in Beijing that I found really impressive. I highly recommend you visit at least once. They have a wide variety of products, and the staff provided one-on-one explanations, which was really nice. Although I couldn't communicate in English, they helped me well with a translator, so I was able to buy the Aesop room spray. I highly recommend you visit at least once. They also have snacks and Aesop tea that are exclusive to this location, which was really nice. You can enjoy them in the courtyard.

A must-try Xinjiang restaurant on Guijie.

🕍Environment: The bright blue sign is eye-catching. The two-story restaurant is decorated with Uyghur-style hats, giving it a strong Xinjiang vibe. 🌈Big Plate Chicken: A huge plate of chicken! The chicken is tender and juicy, the potatoes are soft and flavorful, and the green and red peppers not only add color, but also a rich taste. Each piece of chicken is covered in a rich sauce, making it spicy and delicious. 😍  🌈Lamb Skewers: The lamb skewers are sizzling and oily, making them very appetizing. The meat is tender and juicy, and each bite is full of the rich flavor of lamb. There's no gamey taste, just pure deliciousness. The skewers are cooked to perfection. The moment you take a bite, the meat juice fills your mouth. 🌈Xinjiang Roast Buns: A bite of the bun is full of surprises! The crust is crispy and golden, and the filling is a perfect blend of lamb and onions, which is rich but not greasy. Stey-Wangfujing

Stey-Wangfujing Is Beautiful modern design of the room! Has a small kitchen in the room, a fridge with free water and tea. Smart home system is something that was very nice to try out too! Comfy bed, fantastic smell of expensive perfume as soon as you enter the room, good toiletries (if you don’t have a toothbrush, you should tell the staff, they will eagerly provide it but originally you are required to bring your own). Excellent location, right next to the metro station - Dengshikou, literally 5 min walk. The staff is super friendly and helpful! Although it took us quite some time (an hour or more) to register and provide all the green codes since we were traveling still at a “vulnerable” time of covid. The common area is beyond any expectations. Free coffee (amazing one!!) and tea and soda and the space is exceptionally cozy and modern. They have a huge common kitchen with a fridge, an oven (and what not) so you can easily make yourself a yummy breakfast (or even dinner) there. We absolutely loved our stay!! #uniquehotel #templeblessed #eventcelebration #art #easylife #bestislandtraveltowns#themepark#nationalpark#lakes

Ancient Wisdom

Ancient Wisdom

This time, the Vacheron Constantin exhibition held at Pudu Temple was by invitation only, so there were very few people. Watching the exhibition in the temple was very leisurely and comfortable, allowing one to spend the whole day there. I really learned a lot this time! I highly recommend everyone to visit museums when they have time. I must say, the wisdom of the ancients was truly unparalleled. The patterns on these porcelains and dragon robes are still very classic today and are often used as references in modern designs. These patterns are very beautiful and have profound meanings. Recommendation: The benefit of visiting museums is that you can learn from the past to understand the present. You can learn a lot of knowledge that you can't find in books and see how our ancestors lived thousands of years ago and what kind of times they experienced. Science Popularization: If you love watching Ming and Qing dynasty palace dramas, you will find that the 'Sea Water and Cliff Pattern' often appears on dragon robes! It also frequently appears on traditional crafts such as porcelain, lacquerware, and furniture. It is a traditional Chinese pattern, commonly known as 'Jiangya Haishui' or 'Haishui Jiangya'. At the bottom of the pattern, many curved lines are arranged diagonally, called 'water feet'. Above the water feet are many rolling waves, with a mountain rock standing in the water, and auspicious clouds embellishing it. It symbolizes 'Blessed Mountain and Longevity Sea' and also carries the meaning of unifying the country. The 'Sea Water and Cliff Pattern' varies in different periods. For example, in the early Ming Dynasty, it was a shell-shaped flat water pattern, in the late Ming Dynasty, it was a cloud pattern, and in the Kangxi period, it was a standing water pattern, etc.

100 Ways of Travel in Beijing

#100WaysOfTravel The bustling metropolis is filled with modern charm, closely intertwined with antiquities. A trip to Beijing will be remembered for a long time: here is the world's largest palace complex, one of the largest city squares, and the unique architecture of temples, and many other attractions that can surprise even seasoned travelers. Every place in the capital of China tells its own story, which is inextricably linked to the ruling dynasties. In addition, the city has dozens of modern interesting places. I tell you what sights there are in Beijing and what you can see in the Chinese capital in a week. Palaces of Beijing Beijing is an ancient city with a long history, but it became the capital of the Ming Empire and present—day China only in the XV century. Entire palace complexes remained from the Ming and Qing dynasties, which became world-famous monuments of architecture, history and culture. A trip to Beijing is not complete without visiting the main temples of the metropolis — an integral part of the city's history. Beijing offers many places where tourists can go to relax. In the center of the capital there are huge parks with no less historical value than palaces and temples. Some will want to walk in the shade of their mighty trees, while others will want to explore new architectural monuments. I'm telling you what to do in Beijing while taking a break from sightseeing. There are other unique places in the capital that can impress even the most sophisticated traveler. Travel tips Most of the sights will have to be explored for several hours under the scorching sun. Therefore, if you come to Beijing in the summer, take an SPF and a headdress with you. If you plan to fly through the capital of China in transit, I advise you to stay in the city for a few days. Upon arrival, you can apply for a special visa for 72 or 144 hours, which is enough to explore the main attractions of Beijing. To visit many sites, you need a passport, so carry a document with you. Chinese silk, porcelain, tea, jade jewelry and other souvenirs are brought as gifts from Beijing. To get to know the local gastronomy, try wontons, gongbao, mapo tofu and jiaozi.
