Introduction Budapest Cave Exploration

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is not only the pearl of the Danube, but also hides the only explorable urban underground cave system in Europe. Millions of years ago, volcanic activity and hot spring erosion carved out a fantastic maze with a total length of more than 40 kilometers at the bottom of the Buda Mountains. Palvolgyi Cave and Semler Cave are famous for their honeycomb-shaped caves and stalactites. The twisted rock corridors are covered with silica crystals, and the snowflakes and coral-like calcite clusters formed by hot spring precipitation flash like stars under the searchlight. Explorers can wear professional equipment, crawl through narrow fossil passages, cross the calcified pools formed by underground hot spring erosion, and occasionally encounter prehistoric shell marks on the cave walls. The air-raid shelters left over from World War II and the medieval wine cellars are intertwined, and the traces of gunpowder smoke can still be felt by touching the rock walls. Professional guides often design "Earth Center Jigsaw Puzzle" challenges to connect geological wonders with historical codes. The hot spring steam is lingering in the depths of the cave, making this underground time and space travel in the city a three-dimensional epic of nature and humanity.

Try hard to not get excited (explained)

Try hard to not get excited (explained)

Budapest is an amazing city with beautiful buildings and many places to visit and walk. As I mentioned in the tittle, please do try hard to not get too excited and visit everything in one day, you will end exhausted as we did. we woke up very early and we fall into the flow of following all the highlights. The Budapest Castle is a bit far away so have in mind to make a few breaks from time to time an get a drink. There are also plenty of funny statues around the city that make your walk a fun time spend. Finally, even if this area is popular for meat lovers, Vegan people are very welcome. We found very awesome restaurants with many tasty vegan options. We will definitely return for the ice skating experience!

Amazing Budapest!! 🎉

Budapest is one of my most favourite cities! It’s an architecture heaven! Buzzing nightlife & all that. Had a day trip in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. And I stayed in a party hostel where sleeping wasn’t allowed! Yes they told me if you want to sleep this isn’t the right place for you! There was loud music all night and literally no sleep at all! After seeing all the sights during day, went for a boat ride at late night and we had free unlimited cocktails! It was a night to remember as fireworks went on over the river as people were dancing through the night! When you think of Budapest, just think about the fun. #passionpassport #staycation #budapest #gooutside

FINEST ART MUSEUM 👌🏻🇭🇺

📍Museum of Fine Arts The Museum of Fine Arts, one of Budapest's top museums, is the most iconic structure in Heroes' Square, facing the Palace of Art. It was built by the plans of Albert Schickedanz and Fülöp Herzog in an eclectic-neoclassical style, between 1900 and 1906. The Museum of Fine Arts, housed in a grand Renaissance-style building that reopened in late 2018 after three years of renovations, houses the city's most outstanding collection of foreign works of art, ranging from ancient Egyptian art to stellar collections of Spanish, Flemish, Italian, and German art. For the first time in four decades, it also contains Hungarian art. The collection's nucleus is Count Miklós Esterházy's private collection, which was purchased by the state in 1870. The next time I set foot in this historical city, I will surely visit this and the other 56+ museums and exhibitions in Budapest. #budapest #majeanmarvels #majeanwanders #solotravel #cities #europe #europeanarchitecture

🏰VIEW FROM THE FORTRESS 🏰

📍 FISHERMAN’s BASTION It took approximately two decades to complete the neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque structure. In 1902, it was opened to the public. The bastion houses an equestrian statue of Stephen I, and the terrace includes seven towers that commemorate the seven Magyar tribes who formed Hungary. The Fisherman's Bastion offers one of the best panoramic views of the Hungarian Parliament, as well as the Danube River and Margaret Island. You will not only be able to take the best shots of the landscape and the Bastion if you visit this majestic monument shortly before dark, but you will also be able to appreciate the breathtaking vistas of Pest lit up. #budapest #wanderlust #travellikelocal #cityoverlook #europe #hungary #majeanmarvels
