A Little Jiangnan Getaway Near Wuhan: Perfect for a Quieter Qingming Festival!

Experience the classic Jiangnan scenery of bridges, streams, and traditional homes this spring. I felt completely refreshed and healed after my visit, and the photos turned out amazing! I highly recommend it! There's no need to deal with the crowds at major scenic spots during Qingming! Address: Liujia Bridge, Xianning. Distance: 1-hour drive from Wuhan. Parking: Convenient parking available on the roadside or along the adjacent village paths. Dining: Many restaurants near the bridge offer delicious farm-to-table cuisine with fresh ingredients at reasonable prices. Our group of four ordered four dishes for just CNY 150+. Enjoy the scenery while dining by the river for a truly pleasant experience. After your meal, take a bamboo raft ride on the river for only CNY 5 (great value!). Further in, you'll find many old houses with a sense of history, perfect for taking atmospheric photos. The whole experience was incredibly peaceful and soothed my restless soul!

Hubei hides a stunning "Little Lijiang".

Destination: Mochou Village. No plans, no guides, just aimless wandering and relaxation. Transportation guide: Two and a half hours by car. After arriving at the scenic area entrance, park your car in the parking lot. A scenic area shuttle bus will take you to and from your guesthouse within the scenic area. The village is small, but perfect for strolling and taking photos. It's like a mini Lijiang! We stayed at the Ming Dynasty Guesthouse. We loved its antique style when choosing a hotel. There's a courtyard for kids to play in. Even if you don't visit the scenic area, it's still very comfortable to sit in the courtyard with friends, drink tea and chat. Practical tips: All guesthouses within the scenic area are managed by the scenic area, with excellent service and facilities. Breakfast is served at the Music Restaurant & Bar within the scenic area. Lunch and dinner are also available here, with delicious food and reasonable prices. Outside the guesthouse, there's a lush green landscape. Adorable green vines cover the entire courtyard wall, with antique-style lamps, making it a perfect spot for taking photos. Bridges, streams, rivers, stone slabs, alleys... who says this isn't a journey through an ancient town in Jiangnan? Or a street in Lijiang? During the day, it's bustling with tourists. At night, it's peaceful and quiet.

I found a great 1–2 day trip route around Wuhan!

If you want to find a quiet place with few people, mountains, and water to relax, this is a recently discovered route that I recommend. To see the stars, I drove for two hours on Friday to find a place with a wide view and little light pollution. I found a great tea mountain, with convenient parking, restrooms, and well-paved roads that lead to the top of the mountain. The next day, I strolled around the area and found a quiet ancient village and a great museum. Daye City, Huangshi City, Hubei Province (about 2 hours from Wuhan) My route: Depart from Wuhan (about 2 hours) - Tea Mountain (stargazing, camping) - Get up early the next day and go to Shangfeng Village (recommended) - Tonglushan Ancient Copper Mine Site Museum - Return to Wuhan. Suitable for family, couples, friends, camping, and leisure trips. It's not difficult, and it's not difficult for novice drivers. The ancient village is small but quiet and clean. There is a temple nearby, and the master is kind and lovely. You can drive to the top of the mountain, where there is a heavenly pool and a glass plank road. There are few people and beautiful scenery. Finally, I went to a museum and was amazed by the beauty of the minerals. You can take your children to see it. There is no entrance fee and no reservation is required!
