Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
Going to the sea in Shantou is a popular recreational activity loved by tourists and has become a popular tourist experience. The best time to go to the sea is usually when the tide is low, when you can catch seafood such as crabs, sea urchins, and conchs on the beach and reefs. In Shantou, you can choose from several popular places, such as Qing'ao Bay and Mayu Island, which are not only rich in seafood but also beautiful. Before going to the sea, remember to check the tide table and choose the best time to go to the sea two hours before and after the lowest tide. At the same time, it is also necessary to take safety measures such as sun protection and anti-slip. For tourists who are going to the sea for the first time, it is recommended to follow an experienced local guide or join a sea-hunting group to ensure safety and a full harvest. Going to the sea not only allows tourists to get close to nature and feel the gifts of the sea, but also experience the traditional lifestyle of fishermen. It is an unforgettable travel experience.

Shantou | Three-Day Two-Night Guide (Travel Edition)

"One true word from you, and I'm truly in Shantou" Spent the holidays with friends on a laid-back trip to Shantou, focusing on eating, drinking, and wandering to experience the slow pace of life -Travel and Accommodation Suggestions ✈️Pudong Airport - Jieyang Airport After landing, you can choose to take a taxi, the airport bus directly to the city center, or the airport shuttle to Jieyang Station and then take the high-speed train to Shantou Station (all of which take about 1-1.5h) 🏠It is recommended to stay near Vientiane City in the city center Vientiane City is located in the center of the city, with convenient living facilities nearby, very close to Longyan South Road Food Street, and it is convenient to go to Xiaogongyuan or Nan'ao Island/Mayu Island (located in the middle) 🚌Traveling in Shantou is absolutely inseparable from motorcycles, you'll definitely get addicted! Just use Weixin to scan and go, stop wherever you want, and feel the speed and passion of the city haha -Itinerary Shantou city is not big, plus a few famous islands Inside the city, Xiaogongyuan is worth visiting, it is a must-visit landmark, Xiaogongyuan scenic area is very small, 2h is enough for taking photos📷, you can book the museum on the same day or pay attention to local events like Yingge Dance Lantern Festival, etc. Nan'ao Island's ring road is very famous, as well as the lighthouse, but when we went, it was peak time and it took hours to get on the island, so we gave up and turned to Mayu Island, which is also very small haha, mainly seaside rocks, the statue of Guanyin looking out to sea, mural village, etc. Additionally, on the first night, we went to the East Coast Avenue to set off fireworks (super cool!) Here's the plan👇 Day1 Xiaogongyuan Zhongshan Memorial Pavilion - Shantou Post Office - Shantou Hotel - Arcade Buildings (mostly in Xiaogongyuan) - Xiti Park (best spot to photograph Shantou Panstone Bridge) - Rest in the homestay after lunch - Fireworks by the sea after dinner Day2 Mayu Island: Tao Zhu Pavilion - Mayu Blue Bookstore - Group photo on the seaside rocks - Mural village on the west side of the island - Mazu Temple - Mayu Community Emergency Shelter (best spot to photograph Shantou Bay Bridge) In short, experiencing local life and appreciating Chaozhou scenery only accounted for 40% of the Shantou trip, the main focus was on eating and drinking, the next article will continue to share!

Shantou's Xiaogongyuan and Old Fort.

Shantou's Xiaogongyuan and Old Fort.

Shantou Xiaogongyuan is a historical witness to Shantou's century-old commercial port. There is a saying that "Xiaogongyuan came first, then Shantou City." Xiaogongyuan is not a park in the strict sense, nor is it small. It is a series of streets radiating from the center of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Pavilion, cut by arcade buildings with Nanyang characteristics. The style and layout are similar to Zhongshan Road in Xiamen. Xiaogongyuan is suitable for walking and shopping. You can visit the Open Port Culture Exhibition Hall and Shantou Post Office to learn about the history and style of Shantou's opening; you can visit the Zheng Zhengqiu and Cai Chusheng Film Museum and immerse yourself in the narrative atmosphere of light and shadow art; you can walk into the Cunxin Mansion and feel the architectural style of the combination of Chinese and Western styles and colorful decorations; you can enter the Laomagong Theater, drink tea, and watch the Chaozhou Opera Culture Exhibition; you can stop at any time and taste Chaozhou rice rolls and licorice fruit salad. Shantou Shibao Fort, also known as Qilu Fort, was built during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty and was an important forward base for coastal defense in eastern Guangdong at that time. The fort faces the Rongjiang River, surrounded by a moat. In the middle of the base of the city wall is a tunnel running through the entire fort. The tunnel is built with stone blocks in the shape of an arch, and the interior can store shells and food. There are east and west gates in the fort leading to the barracks. The outer wall of the fort is constructed in the shape of a wall, with gun holes, and there is a ventilation and communication tower on the fort platform for transmitting information up and down and ventilating and lighting the bottom floor. There is a crescent-shaped platform on the north side, facing a green square, used to command and watch soldiers practice. The old fort is sparsely populated, in stark contrast to Xiaogongyuan. Standing on the city wall of the fort, touching the Qing Dynasty official cannons with a history of hundreds of years, the distant Rongjiang River is calm and peaceful. Looking back on the past, the ancient beacon smoke is now quiet, which highlights the importance of national defense construction.

What a fantastic hotel with an amazing value!

The hotel's internal intelligent facilities are equally impressive. As soon as I stepped into the room, the intelligent "Xiaodu" assistant caught my attention. With just a simple instruction, I could easily control the opening and closing of the curtains, the turning on and off of the TV, and the adjustment of the lights. This technologically advanced experience made me feel like I was in a future life. The smart toilet further enhanced the comfort and hygiene standards of the accommodation, making every use an enjoyment. The hotel's buffet breakfast is varied and nutritious, from Chinese pastries to Western breads, from fresh fruit to hot porridge, everything is mouth-watering. The gym and laundry room also provide great convenience for guests. Being able to maintain daily exercise or wash clothes in a timely manner during the trip, these details show the hotel's meticulous consideration of guests' needs. I must mention the service attitude of the hotel staff. From the warm reception at the front desk at check-in to the daily cleaning and maintenance of the rooms, every employee showed professionalism and enthusiasm. Their smiles and attentive service made me feel the warmth of home and made this trip more warm and pleasant. With its excellent location, intelligent facilities, thoughtful service, and convenient transportation, the Orange Hotel (Shantou Mixc High-speed Railway Station Branch) provides a high-quality accommodation experience for every guest. Whether it is a business trip or a leisure trip, this is an ideal choice. A secret base we won't tell you about

📍March Wilderness - Xiaosen Camp The activities under the pine trees are really great. The atmosphere is great both day and night. Surrounded by nature, it's a great place for groups. It's a great choice for team building. We chose the 💰198 package (BBQ, CS, archery) 🕹️During the day, there are off-road vehicles, archery, CS, aerial magic nets, etc. 📢At night, there are bonfires, karaoke, board games, BBQ 🍖 (I didn't expect the BBQ to be good quality, with a wide variety, and all-you-can-eat) ❗️❗️Girls who love to take photos will find every spot is super photogenic (I suggest going early. There's a small lake by the pine forest that's also very beautiful. We went too late and didn't get to take photos)

Just came back from Chaoshan, let me tell you the truth, I suggest you read this before you go

Just came back from Chaoshan, let me tell you the truth, I suggest you read this before you go

At first, I really went to Chaoshan for the food. But the trip to Chaoshan in 2024 made me re-evaluate it. The festive atmosphere, the warmth of the people, and their adherence to traditional culture moved me to tears. Having been to over 200 cities, I can responsibly say that this is the city with the richest New Year flavor, without a doubt. - You say 'truly intoxicating', and I find myself in the real Shantou. Drinking authentic Chaoshan tea among the crowd in the small park. Getting swept up in the fervor of the 'Chinese War Dance' and English songs and dances. Watching the sun slowly set, turning the water into a sea of oranges. - Of course, Chaoshan is not just about Shantou. When you're in Chaoshan, you have to take a trip to Chaozhou, right? Come see the 'demolishing bridge after crossing' at Guangji Bridge. Check out the largest archway street. And have a steaming hot pot of sand pot porridge and beef hot pot. - 👉How to play❓ Chaoshan 2️⃣ days 1️⃣ night travel route: Day1 Shantou Intangible Cultural Heritage Tour Catholic Church - Cunxin Shantang - Guanyin Temple - Small Park - Houxi Village/Fenggang Village English songs and dances performances - Day2 Chaozhou Ancient City citywalk Qinglong Ancient Temple - Guangji Bridge - Guangji Tower - Archway Street - Kaiyuan Temple - Zhenhai Tower - Guangji Tower night view - 👉Where to take photos❓ 1️⃣Guanyin Temple: The busiest rooftop in the country is right here, where Chinese classical literature is carved by craftsmen, exquisitely beautiful. - 2️⃣Small Park: The buildings here have a very Hong Kong style, and you can take classic photos of the Small Park window scene from the second floor of kcoffee. - 3️⃣English songs and dances: English songs and dances are performed throughout the entire first lunar month, you can check in advance which village starts the parade! - 4️⃣Guangji Bridge: The prototype of 'demolishing bridge after crossing', part of it is connected by chained boats, which are dismantled at sunset. - 5️⃣Qinglong Ancient Temple: You can come here to draw divination sticks, which are said to be very efficacious. - 6️⃣Chaozhou Ancient City: The night view of the ancient city is beautiful, and Archway Street looks amazing when shot with a telephoto lens. - 👉How to get there❓ Chaoshan has a high-speed train station, and you can also fly directly. Chaoshan is mainly divided into Shantou, Chaozhou, and Jieyang, each with different stations. If you have a car, it would be more convenient to drive. -

Teochew food recommendations

Teochew food recommendations

What I ate in Teochew|||Teochew food A summary of the food I ate on my trip to Teochew. I spent three days in Teochew and ate four meals a day. The first meal I had after landing in Jieyang was "Dongxing Fish Fillet Congee." I ordered the fish fillet and crab combo, which was a full pot. The congee is made to order, so you have to wait a while, but you can order an oyster pancake from the stall next door to eat while you wait. The congee was really delicious, with the fresh and sweet taste of the seafood fully infused into the congee. Beef hotpot - I had it almost every day, I loved it so much. I would go back just for the beef hotpot. I highly recommend the "snowflake" and "spoon" beef, which melt in your mouth and are so tender, and the crispy beef brisket. First, cook the meat, then the vegetables, and finally order some kway teow noodles, which are delicious with satay sauce. I recommend "Niuniu Hotpot" on Nan'ao Island and "Ah Hou Beef" in Shantou. Raw marinated seafood - I only tried the salmon and cooked abalone. If you have a strong stomach, you can try the crab. I recommend "Ruijiao Mama." Nan'ao Island - I went to a seafood restaurant recommended by a colleague. The sea urchin and seaweed fried rice was amazing. It looked black and mushy, but the aroma of the sea urchin filled my mouth with every bite, and the rice was perfectly cooked. The other seafood was average. "Island Flavor" Desserts - I recommend Xi Yi Sweet Soup. Everything with taro flavor is delicious and not too sweet. It's best to go to the main store. Braised hotpot - I don't recommend this in Shantou. I really didn't like it. The braised soup was bitter and salty. I went to a restaurant recommended by Wong Cho Lam on "Day Day Up." Apart from the tender and smooth liver, the other dishes were all salty and bitter. Teochew food recommendations
