Watching the sunset at Mount Lushan is a visual feast that makes people intoxicated. Standing on the top of Mount Lushan, when the sun sets, the sunset is like a brocade, reflecting the beauty of the Yangtze River and Poyang Lake. Xiaotianchi is the best place to watch the sunset, with a wide view overlooking Guling Street and the surrounding beautiful scenery. Guling Town is even more beautiful under the sunset. In addition, Guling Street is also a good viewing point. It is known as the "Mountain City in the Clouds" and the scene is spectacular at sunset. The viewing time is usually in the evening, and the best time is from 5 to 7 in summer. In short, watching the sunset at Mount Lushan is an unforgettable experience, which makes people deeply feel the charm of nature and the mature beauty of life. It is an unmissable part of Lushan tourism.

[Autumn Leisure Trip] Jiujiang, Jiangxi: A Journey of Tranquility and Gastronomy at the Foot of Mount Lu.

[Autumn Leisure Trip] Jiujiang, Jiangxi: A Journey of Tranquility and Gastronomy at the Foot of Mount Lu.

[Autumn Leisure Trip] Jiujiang, Jiangxi: A Journey of Tranquility and Gastronomy at the Foot of Mount Lu. 🍁 As autumn approaches and the National Day holiday arrives, I chose Jiujiang, Jiangxi. This peaceful city offered me a unique travel experience. 🚂 In the early morning, a green train slowly pulled into Jiujiang Station, where my exploration began. My hotel was near the train station, offering convenience and comfort. 🏞️ My first stop was Sandiequan Waterfall. In just half a day, I could appreciate the beauty of Mount Lu. On various apps, you can book a "Sandiequan Waterfall + Roundtrip Sightseeing Bus Ticket" to easily reach the East Gate of Mount Lu and take a sightseeing bus directly to the scenic area. Although Sandiequan Waterfall is not high, the scenery is pleasant. You can walk and stop along the way, take photos, and reach the top in just over an hour. 🌆 In the afternoon, I chose a city walk, strolling between Nanhu Park, Li Gong Dike, Yanshuiting Pavilion, Simatou, Xunyang Tower, Suojing Tower, and Bipa Tower. I felt the leisurely lifestyle of the city. The cool breeze brought by the temperature drop during the National Day holiday made the riverside promenade refreshing. I sat on a chair by the river, quietly feeling the wind's caress. 🌇 At sunset, I went to the Yangtze River Bridge, next to the ferry. As I watched the beautiful scenery of Sunset Boulevard, I couldn't help but hum the melody of "Sunset Boulevard". 🏙️ On the second day, I went deep into the residential area to experience the local life of Jiujiang. The bustling atmosphere of the vegetable market made me feel like I was part of the city. 🏛️ In the afternoon, I visited the Jiujiang Museum. It not only has a rich collection of historical exhibits but also special activities for National Day, allowing me to participate and enjoy a full experience. 🍜 For food, I highly recommend Jiangxi rice noodles. The pickled vegetable, sour and spicy pork liver and shredded pork rice noodle soup from GuanTou Rice Noodles is delicious and spicy, with generous portions of pork liver and shredded pork. Lao An Ming Chi's meat and egg stir-fried rice noodles have a strong wok flavor and moderate spiciness. Yanjing North's sweet and spicy flavor is unforgettable. 🥞 Although there is a queue, the radish cake from Four Sisters Pancake is average in taste. The snow-topped small green milk tea from Hongdu Thumb has a warm taste, but the snow top is a bit greasy. The sea salt roll from Shan Shan Bread was a pleasant surprise. 🌆 Jiujiang, this livable city, made me feel the warmth of home. The bus radio broadcast "Jiujiang is my home...", which deepened my affection for this city.

Guling Town, Lushan, Jiangxi, a summer resort

Guling Town, Lushan, Jiangxi, a summer resort

Guling in Lushan is one of the four major summer resorts in China. Although the temperature at the foot of the mountain easily exceeds 30 degrees Celsius in summer, the average temperature on the mountain remains between 20-25 degrees Celsius during the peak summer season, and you don't even need to turn on the air conditioner at night. Guling Town is surrounded by mountains at an altitude of about 1100 meters. The moderate temperature is the main reason for its coolness. In the Ming Dynasty, the Guling and Lulin areas of Lushan were forbidden mountains, strictly prohibiting logging and grazing, resulting in a high forest coverage rate and very fresh air. In 1886, British missionary Edward Selby Little was attracted by the cool climate and beautiful natural environment of Guling and planned to rent land to build a villa. He later obtained a lease from the government and gradually developed the area into a summer resort. The name Guling is derived from the English word "cooling." By the Republic of China period, Guling in Lushan had already become a sizable town with well-planned roads and complete urban facilities. There were more than 700 villas, of which over 500 belonged to foreigners and more than 190 to Chinese, making it a veritable "museum of international architecture." It was also equipped with hospitals, schools, markets, police services, etc., making it not much different from bustling towns at the foot of the mountain. Many people chose to move to the mountain before summer arrived and move back down before winter. The early builders and residents of villas in Guling were missionaries, businessmen from various countries, and people from all walks of life in China. During the Republic of China period, more than 2,000 foreigners came to Guling in Lushan to escape the summer heat, including over 1,000 missionaries from Britain and the United States alone. At that time, Western missionaries developed several summer resorts in China, the largest of which was Guling in Lushan. On New Year's Day in 1936, China officially took over Guling as a summer resort, and more and more celebrities came to Guling to escape the summer heat. Today, Guling Town is still a famous summer resort and the most important tourist distribution center in the Lushan Scenic Area. It is home to various hotels, inns, and homestays, as well as commercial streets, cinemas, post offices, and more. Many tourists choose to rest here while visiting Lushan. The villas in Guling Town are very distinctive, with some having blue roofs and others red roofs. Entering Guling Town feels like stepping into a magical fairy tale world. Due to the altitude and geographical environment, clouds and mist often visit, sometimes making it feel like being in a fairyland. I once stayed in Guling Town for a few days during the summer, and it was indeed very comfortable.
