Xi'an and the Terra-cotta Soldiers, China

I went during the off season (November) which I highly recommend. I've heard in the summer the building these soldiers are in can be extremely hot and crowded. In November is was a little chilly but you didn't need more than a sweater, no lines for anything and at most you had two people infant of you so just wait a second and they will move and you will have the view you wanted. The soldiers are amazing, I couldn't believe how incredible they are but also that they are colored which is something I never knew. Its unfortunate that some lost their colors and others are being protected out of sight. Maybe one day we will be able to see them in all their colourful glory again.

Xi'an 4-Day Itinerary｜The Charm of the Ancient Capital of 13 Dynasties

🌟 Xi'an has a long history and is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization and the Chinese nation. It is also the starting point of the Silk Road. Thirteen dynasties have established their capitals here, so it is called the "Ancient Capital of 13 Dynasties". Xi'an is one of the four ancient capitals of the world, along with Rome, Athens, and Cairo. 🌟 We stayed at the Mehood Lestie Hotel Xi'an Muslim Street Flagship Store. The hotel is very cost-effective, with breakfast included for around CNY 600. The location of Muslim Street is very good, and it is very convenient to get to popular hotels. 🌟 Itinerary: 1⃣️ On the first day, we flew from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to Xi'an Xianyang Airport and rested for a while. The first stop was the Shaanxi History Museum. The museum is difficult to book, so we booked it in advance on the mini program. Isn't a free museum great? It's worth the money. If you really can't get a ticket, buy a special exhibition ticket and hire a tour guide. The Shaanxi Museum is huge, and there are so many precious cultural relics. You should spend at least three or four hours here and listen to the explanations carefully. The kids were very satisfied with the Muslim Street and the nearby Xi'an snacks. We had dinner directly at the Muslim Street snacks. The kebabs and roujiamo have crispy outer skins and are filled with fresh and juicy marinated meat. The lamb paomo is made with high-quality lamb and special mo pieces, which are rich in nutrients. Liangpi is divided into rice skin and hand-rolled skin, and you can try both. 2⃣️ On the second day, we took a taxi to the Terracotta Warriors in the morning. We visited the Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor of Qin early in the morning. Each terracotta warrior is lifelike, and the exquisite craftsmanship of the Qin Dynasty is amazing. The shooting warriors and kneeling warriors recreate the glory of the army back then. In the afternoon, we visited Huaqing Palace, which is a royal palace with a long history. It is said to be the place where Yang Guifei bathed. The royal garden and bathhouse show that bathing in ancient times was very ceremonial. 3⃣️ On the third day, we took a taxi to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the morning. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda was built by the famous Tang Dynasty monk Xuanzang to preserve Buddhist scriptures. We climbed the pagoda to overlook the beautiful scenery of the entire Xi'an city. Then we went to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, which is a 20-minute drive away. It was built during the Jinglong period of the Tang Dynasty and is an important symbol of the Tang Chang'an City that has been preserved to this day, along with the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The thousand-year-old pagoda is full of charm. In the afternoon, we visited the Forest of Stone Steles Museum, which has a large number of steles and stone carvings. It cultivated the children's sentiments, and we admired the craftsmanship of ancient craftsmen who left us endless treasures. In the evening, we visited the Grand Tang Mall. The Chinese clothing performances in Xi'an are dazzling, and the lights are brilliant and beautiful. 4⃣️ On the fourth day, we visited the Tang Paradise, a cultural park built in the style of the Tang Dynasty. We wore Tang Dynasty costumes and took photos, as if we had traveled back to the Tang Dynasty under the lanterns. In the afternoon, we rented bicycles and rode around the Xi'an City Wall, overlooking the beautiful scenery of the ancient city. We imagined the great rivers and mountains of the emperors back then, and the wheels of history rolled away. After a day of sightseeing, we went home.

The newly opened cliff restaurant in Bailuyuan is amazing (brand new). Enjoy the fresh air in a place without a ceiling, and play with two cute little sheep. People all over the world know about these teraccotta statues which for me are absolutely fascinating and they just leave me speechless everytime I visit this place. I mean, just imagine the amount of hard work and effort making them? Just amazing. I was fortunate enough to visit this place thrice and everytime I go there there's that feeling of excitement, it never goes away. This is an imprtant treasure in Chinese Culture that must be shared to the people who are visiting China. How to get here: We went there by ourselves without a tour package so here it is - we took metro line 1 to Fangzhicheng Station then line 9 to Huaqing Pool station. Once you get ther hop on to lintong bus 602 to the terracotta museum. It will take you about 2 or 2 and half hours depending on where your starting point is. 📍- 汉长安城遗址公园（han changan cheng yizhi gonguan) Archeological Park of Weiyang Palace 💸 - free (no need to pre book) ⏰ - 6:00 - 22:00 🚌- Last stop of bus 217 ~ Best time to visit is around 16:00, as it’s super hot and you can easily get the sunburn on the open space ☀️ Every season it’s a great spot to enjoy different flower blooms.
