Nyingchi Travel Guide

A super comprehensive travel guide to Tibet The peak season in Tibet is from June to August, which is very suitable for travel. I have compiled a super comprehensive guide for traveling to Tibet, so take note!! Places worth visiting: Nyingchi: Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon Gala Peach Blossom Village Bomi Peach Blossom Valley Basum Lake Lhasa: Potala Palace Jokhang Temple Barkhor Street Norbulingka Shigatse: Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon Gala Peach Blossom Village Bomi Peach Blossom Valley Basum Lake Transportation: 1. You can fly directly to Nyingchi and Lhasa, depending on your needs. Those who are afraid of altitude sickness can choose to fly directly to Nyingchi. It is recommended to book tickets in advance. 2. Take a train to Lhasa, then take the 'Fuxinghao' bullet train to Nyingchi (the scenery along the way is really not to be missed) 3. If you have plenty of time, it is recommended to drive by yourself, taking the Yunnan-Tibet or Sichuan-Tibet route, but be cautious when driving into Tibet and have an experienced driver accompany you. 4. Nyingchi City Airport: Location: Civil Aviation Base, New District, Bayi District, Nyingchi City. Departure times: 07:00 first bus, 07:30 second bus, 08:00 third bus, 08:30 fourth bus, four buses in total every day. 5. Airport to Nyingchi City: Location: Exit of the arrival hall. Departure times: Buses depart every 30 minutes during the flight guarantee period, depending on the number of passengers. 6. Nyingchi Bus Station: Departure times: Buses run from 7 am to 6 pm, with specific schedules and routes available by phone inquiry at the bus station. If you want to take photos in the fields, remember to ask for the price in advance to avoid being overcharged. The average altitude of Nyingchi is only about 3000 meters, so there is basically no risk of altitude sickness. If you are afraid of altitude sickness, you can prepare some altitude sickness prevention medicine.

Songzan Namjagbarwa Mountain Residence - Overlooking Namjagbarwa Peak

Songzan Namjagbarwa Mountain Residence - Overlooking Namjagbarwa Peak

🛏【️Hotel Guide】 📍Detailed Address: Dalin Village, Pai Town, Milin County, Nyingchi City, Tibet Autonomous Region 🚗Transportation Guide: About kilometers from Nyingchi Milin Airport, about 1 hour and 45 minutes by car; about 98 kilometers from Nyingchi Station, about 2 hours by car 🌟Highlights: At Songzan Namjagbarwa Mountain Residence, there are barley fields and wild peach trees nearby, and you can see the "most beautiful mountain in China" Namjagbarwa when you look up. ⛱Hotel Environment: Adjacent to the Yarlung Zangbo River, overlooking Namjagbarwa. 💰Average Consumption: 1858 yuan/room 📌Small Tips: The hotel is located in Dalin Village, and Dalin in Tibetan means "horse field". This is a secluded village bathed in the divine light of Namjagbarwa in the depths of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. Every window of the hotel is the best place to appreciate Namjagbarwa. Every day, you can immerse yourself in the natural return to inner peace. Each window is a tribute to the majestic figure of Namjagbarwa: looking out from the mountain residence at an altitude of 3150 meters, rushing forward along the flat and open barley field like an airport runway, suddenly vertically climbing at the foot of the not far mountain, reaching the top of Namjagbarwa at an altitude of 7782 meters, the giant mountain body panorama unobstructed across the front. The huge drop of 4600 meters brings not only visual shock, but also a soul-stirring impact. At Songzan Namjagbarwa Mountain Residence, you can simultaneously include all the peaks of the entire Namjagbarwa mountain system, as well as Jialabailei Peak, into your sight. Looking up at the sacred mountain, what makes people dizzy is not only the oppressive feeling close at hand, but also the extremely clear rock body and snow line veins. It is worth mentioning that in addition to the lobby, restaurant, and conference room, the bar and split-level book bar on the third floor of the main building will be another highlight worth looking forward to. The two-story high bookshelf next to the stairs creates an ideal reading space. Have a cup of fragrant tea, in front of you can be Namjagbarwa Peak, or "Walden Lake", in the place closest to nature, through the senses and reading, return to the inner peace and joy, feel the romance of breathing with nature.

Are the Grand Canyon and Suosong Village worth visiting?

Are the Grand Canyon and Suosong Village worth visiting?

Seasonally speaking, in early to mid-April, you can see the blooming peach blossoms in Suosong Village, which is over 2,900 meters above sea level. With the distant view of the 5,000-meter-high Nanga Parbat, it is a world-class beauty that is definitely worth visiting. These photos were taken by me every spring since 2014. In autumn, late October to November, Nanga Parbat is more likely to be visible, and the starry sky and moonrise are excellent scenes, making it very worth visiting. The prerequisite is that it is best to stay for more than two days, because Nyingchi is often cloudy and foggy, and it takes two days to encounter a sunny day, a sunrise, and a sunset over the golden mountains. However, because there are only twenty or so indigenous households in Suosong Village, and the homestead is limited, accommodation resources are very scarce. From the extremely poor accommodation environment of CNY 100/person in 2013, it has developed to the point where a room costs CNY 1,000–2,000 or even more per night during the peak season, and some even cost CNY 6,000–7,000/room/day. Like other scenic spots in the world, the most important thing to enjoy the world-class spring scenery of Suosong Village is money. If you don't have a budget of about CNY 3,000/person/day, you will suffer a lot. Some Nyingchi three-day tours charge you a total of CNY 1,200 for three days, which is actually less than half of the cost of transportation + accommodation + tickets. The purpose is to take you to as many shopping stores as possible in one day, and even the toilets are a scam. Under the guise of poverty alleviation, they bet that you will buy Tibetan silver, maca, fritillary, and other Tibetan medicines in order to extract high commissions exceeding 50%. A friend bought a Tibetan silver belt and a water cup for more than CNY 6,000. If you just don't buy it, you will eat pig food and live in dirty and messy rooms. Instead, spend a little more money and stay in Suosong Village for one or even two nights.

However, the prices are relatively high, and rooms are in high demand, so book in advance. - Bomi County: Beautiful environment with cost-effective accommodation, suitable for staying while exploring Bomi. 📌 Travel Tips - Altitude Sickness Prevention: Take anti-altitude sickness medication in advance, avoid strenuous exercise upon arrival in Nyingchi, get enough sleep, and drink plenty of water. - Sun Protection: The plateau has strong ultraviolet rays, so be sure to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a sun hat. - Warm Clothing: Even in March, the temperature difference between day and night in Nyingchi is still quite large, so remember to bring a thick coat. - Respect Local Customs: Nyingchi is a Tibetan settlement, so respect local religious beliefs and customs. Friends, Nyingchi in March is truly beautiful. Pack your bags and embark on this romantic encounter with peach blossoms 💕. I believe this trip to Nyingchi will become an unforgettable memory in your travels!

Seven magnificent and majestic snow-capped mountains within the territory of Tibet

Seven magnificent and majestic snow-capped mountains within the territory of Tibet

The Roof of the World—the Tibetan Plateau, is not only home to the world's highest peak but also boasts a series of famous mountain ranges. These mountains, like a backbone, set up the grandeur and vastness of the Tibetan Plateau, carrying people's hopes and blessings. 1, 🏔 Mount Everest (elevation 8848.86 meters) It is the main peak of the Himalayas and the highest mountain in China and the world. In Tibetan, 'Zhumu' means 'goddess,' and 'Langma' means 'mother elephant,' which together signify 'Mother of the Earth.' Mount Everest has a giant pyramid shape, standing tall and majestic, reaching into the sky. As the world's highest peak, it attracts countless gazes. Its grandeur is imposing, draped in a thin veil of snow, resembling a celestial maiden. 2, 🏔 Mount Kailash (elevation 6656 meters) It is the second highest peak of the Gangdise mountain range, with its snow-covered summit shining golden in the sunlight. Its pyramid-like shape is distinct from the surrounding peaks and is also considered a sacred mountain by devout followers. 3, 🏔 Mount Kula Kangri (elevation 7538 meters) Located in Lhozhag County in the Shannan region of Tibet, it is known as one of the 'Four Great Sacred Mountains' of central Tibet. The entire snow mountain is composed of three peaks. Standing alongside Mount Kula Kangri are six peaks over 7000 meters high. From a distance, the peaks stand shoulder to shoulder, resembling a towering ice and snow barrier that reaches the sky. 4, 🏔 Namcha Barwa (elevation 7782 meters) It is the highest mountain in Nyingchi, Tibet Autonomous Region. As the sacred site of Tibet's oldest Buddhist tradition, 'Yungdrung Bon,' it is known as the 'Father of Tibetan Mountains.' Its massive triangular peak is perennially snow-covered, shrouded in mist, and rarely reveals its true face, earning it the nickname 'Shy Girl Peak.' 5, 🏔 Shishapangma (elevation 8027 meters) It is an 8000-meter peak entirely within Chinese territory. In Tibetan, Shishapangma means 'the weather is extremely cold, and the climate is harsh and variable,' but the Tibetan people praise it as an 'auspicious sacred mountain.' Its north slope has a glacier valley over 10 kilometers long, with a forest of ice towers shining like a 'crystal garden.' However, it is also covered with crisscrossing ice and snow crevasses and occasional massive ice and snow avalanches, making climbing extremely difficult. 6, 🏔 Mount Sajama (elevation 6956 meters) Located in Yangxiu Township, Biru County, it has stood here for thousands of years, surrounded by mountains, with its main peak revered as the king of local sacred mountains. Its highest peak is 6556 meters, also known as 'Sapuganglaga,' and is one of the sacred mountains of the Bon religion in Tibetan Buddhism. 7, 🏔 Cho Oyu (elevation 8201 meters) It is the sixth highest peak in the world, located on the border between China and Nepal in the Himalayas. 'Cho Oyu' in Tibetan means 'the great master.' Cho Oyu stands tall and mighty in the Himalayas. Cho Oyu has five main ridges, and its mountain is perennially snow-covered, surrounded by snow peaks, with layers of mountains presenting a spectacular view. Let's appreciate the photos of the snow-capped mountains taken by friends who travel to Tibet! 🏔

Tibet in Winter: A Quietly Beautiful Poem of the Snowy Plateau

Tibet in Winter: A Quietly Beautiful Poem of the Snowy Plateau

When the hustle and bustle of summer settles, winter in Tibet is like a serene fairy, gently lifting her veil. At this time, she sheds the hustle and bustle, leaving only purity and tranquility. Every inch of land is filled with a deep cultural charm, and every breeze is blowing the beautiful natural scenery. In Lhasa in winter, the sun is soft and warm, sprinkled on the golden roof of the Jokhang Temple, like golden tassels gently swaying. The Tibetan aunts at the street corner, turning the prayer wheels in their hands, chanting ancient scriptures, their figures in the winter sun are particularly peaceful and auspicious, becoming the most touching scenery line of this city. Stepping into Nyingchi is like stepping into a world of ice and snow fairy tales. The Namjagbarwa Peak is more majestic and mysterious under the winter sun, and the Lulang Forest at the foot of the mountain is dressed in silver, like a splash-ink landscape painting. Here, you can listen to the sound of snow falling, feel the magic and beauty of nature, and also sit around the stove with Tibetan compatriots, sharing their stories and laughter. In winter in Tibet, there are many hidden beauties waiting for you to discover. The grasslands of Nagqu are more vast and desolate in winter, the surface of Yang Lake ripples in the cold wind, and the sacred mountains and lakes of Ali shine with mysterious light under the winter sun. No matter where you go, you can feel the deep cultural heritage and natural beauty of this land. In this season, Tibet shows her beauty and mystery to the fullest. There is no hustle and bustle here, only peace and harmony. Stepping into winter in Tibet is like stepping into a world full of poetry and dreams, which makes people intoxicated and linger.

Today's hotel recommendation: Enjoy the sunset over Mount Namjagbarwa from your room

Today's hotel recommendation: Enjoy the sunset over Mount Namjagbarwa from your room

Today's hotel recommendation comes from the Peach Blossom Rhythm Hotel in Suosong Village, Milin, Nyingchi, Tibet, facing Mount Namjagbarwa. Currently, the probability of good weather in winter is very high, suitable for watching the sunset over the Golden Mountain. The sunrise over the Golden Mountain cannot be seen from this side, it should be on the Motuo side. First of all, the hardware: Suosong Village is top-notch with central air conditioning, floor heating, a viewing bathtub, large room area, and good hygiene conditions. I remember when I checked in in the afternoon, the sunlight was shining all over the room, golden and splendid, coupled with the clear and cloudless Mount Namjagbarwa that day, I was stunned at once. Although I had seen the snow-capped mountains for several days before, the surprise at that time is still fresh in my memory. Then the service, which is also top-notch locally. The communication throughout the process was smooth, serious, enthusiastic, and made guests feel at home. After booking the room, I received a phone call, sent the self-driving positioning and hotel introduction. As soon as the car stopped that day, someone came out to help with the luggage. The room and room card were all prepared, and there was also coffee and fruit plate delivery. During the period, all needs were basically responded within five minutes. I felt that the housekeeper that day was even more careful and thoughtful than us. Before we set off in the morning, she also thoughtfully packed breakfast, which was very rich and not perfunctory at all. There were hot food, fruits, and coffee, all the way to the car. The service attitude and professionalism are far superior to the neighboring Songzan. As for the scenery, it's very beautiful. After all, you can always trust Namjagbarwa. In addition to the room, there are also rooftop terraces for viewing. There is a pool for taking reflection photos, and you can watch the stars at night. Overall, there are not too many people, and it is relatively quiet and comfortable. However, one point is that although the room has floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides, there is no balcony. You can only watch the scenery through the glass. The windows can be opened a bit for ventilation, but the gap is not enough for taking pictures. Let's talk about transportation. We rented a car. For public transportation, I heard that there will be buses to the scenic area. Driving from Nyingchi Milin Airport, a short section of airport expressway and the rest is national highway, more than 90 kilometers, about two hours in total. The road is paved with asphalt and the road conditions are very good. Cars can pass all the way. There are mountain roads along the way. If your driving skills are not good, just drive slowly. Generally, driving experience can handle it without any problem. But I'm not sure if it's snowing now. It wasn't cold when I went there. Also, the hotel is located in the Yarlung Zangbo River Scenic Area. There is no entrance fee in winter. You will pass a gate on the way. Show them the reservation information and you can drive in. If you don't stay, you should probably buy a sightseeing ticket. Finally, Namjagbarwa is worth coming to, and the hotel is worth staying in. The price of my room with this view is more than two thousand, while the basic room only costs a few hundred yuan. For this service, it's worth it
