Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
Singaporean musicals are gradually emerging in Asia and even around the world with their unique cultural integration and artistic innovation. Singaporean musicals focus on diversity and originality in their creation. They not only draw on the creative experience of internationally renowned musicals such as Broadway and London's West End, but also incorporate local cultural elements and story backgrounds in Singapore to form a unique artistic style. In addition, Singaporean musicals also focus on exploring and displaying local culture. They tell stories about Singapore's history, folk tales, and real life, so that the audience can feel the unique charm of Singaporean culture while enjoying the musicals.

High tea session at Pan Pacific

High tea session at Pan Pacific

Visited panpacificsingapore for their new Japanese inspired afternoon tea during the weekend. Service was seriously lacking. I sat down at 1515hrs and my first item (my tea) only arrived after almost an hour. Coffee only arrived at around 1700 hrs. Almost 2 hrs after I arrived. DH got really grumpy as he needed his afternoon dose of caffeine badly. I understand that they are lacking staffs but the wait is horribly. They apologised a few times but, that was it. Putting the terrible service aside, food wise its still above average. All the items are inspired by the Japanese theme and I like it. The sweet treats are my favourite and I wouldn't mind having another serving of those. The sweet treats didn't give me any "heavy" feel after finishing all of them. I like it that they are using the Bacha coffee too. Bacha coffee has a very very pleasant smell and it's an excellent choice of coffee for high tea. Overall a little upset with the service but I wouldn't mind coming back again soon when their manpower is adequate. Until then, its time to find another afternoon tea place #moreinsg

99 Old Tres Durian Singapore

Located right next to a carpark, the outlet has an al fresco seating like the typical durian stalls, which is great since the smell of durians can be quite overpowering to some. Upon stepping in, we were greeted by the powerful fragrance (which is great if you’re a fan). The industrial-themed space is decorated with realistic murals that paid homage to the process of durian harvesting. We had the 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗹 with added 𝘔𝘢𝘰 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘞𝘢𝘯𝘨 durian pulp. The sweetness of the durian elevated the already-fragrant coconut dessert! 🥥 The 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝘄𝗹, which is a durian mousse, is extremely rich and bittersweet, with a creamy, dense texture! 🍮 The 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽 is their take on durian ice cream, which is a lot easier to handle without such a pungent kick, although that does not mean the durian flavour is compromised. 🍨 Aside from the sweet variations, you can get the freshly-harvested durians straight from the husk! #singaporetrip#cafe

Gingerbread men, Christmas tree biscuits and colourful treehouse biscuits were all decorated for Christmas and were sold for around 5-6$SGD. I also noticed that this Lavender Bakery was giving out a 5$ cake voucher for a minimum spend of $30 and above. #meetsingapore

Fancy craving your own pumpkin? 🎃

When it's October, and when it's the end of October.. what day is it?! This is Halloween..Halloween! I was pretty surprised to see different sizes of real pumpkins available for sale right now at Cold Storage. Last time, it would just be decorating scary spooky items around Cold Storage and just selling scary looking masks and a lot of tricks and treat items such as chocolate, sweets and even wands. Some do also sell children Halloween costumes too which is pretty nice to see. Even the chocolates from some of the brands are of Halloween designs to spice up this event night. It can be a great catch up with friends and family for some gatvering. #spooktaculartrip #mytripvlog

Singapore is really not recommended for budget travelers because...

Singapore is really not recommended for budget travelers because...

Singapore in February is perfect for travel! The weather is pleasant, neither too hot nor too cold. Follow me on a wonderful journey to the Lion City! 1. Preparation Documents and Flights: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months and apply for an electronic visa in advance (if applicable). Book your round-trip flights to Singapore in advance for better trip planning. Currency and Exchange Rate: The official currency of Singapore is the Singapore dollar (SGD). It's recommended to exchange some Singapore dollars at Bank of China or other designated institutions before departure. Currently, about 5.2 RMB equals 1 SGD. Most places in Singapore accept international credit cards and mobile payments like Alipay, but some small businesses may only accept cash. Weather and Clothing: Singapore has a hot and humid climate year-round, with temperatures ranging from 21–32°C. Pack light, breathable clothing, sunscreen, and a hat. Bring a portable umbrella as it rains frequently in Singapore. Voltage and Plugs: Singapore uses 220V and British-style three-pin plugs. Prepare a travel adapter to avoid inconvenience. Transportation and Communication: Singapore has an excellent public transportation system, including the subway, buses, and taxis. Purchase a tourist pass (like an EZ-Link card) for convenient travel. Consider buying a local SIM card or activating international roaming service to stay connected. 2. Itinerary Day 1: Gardens by the Bay - Merlion Park - Marina Bay Gardens by the Bay: One of Singapore's iconic attractions, Gardens by the Bay boasts beautiful floral displays and spectacular Supertrees. Stroll through the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, and experience the magic of nature. Don't miss the Supertree Grove light and sound show in the evening. Merlion Park: Take photos with the iconic Merlion statue and experience Singapore's unique charm. Enjoy the dazzling night view of Marina Bay Sands and the Marina Bay Floating Platform. Marina Bay: Take an evening stroll along the Marina Bay promenade and enjoy the scenery. Ride the Singapore Flyer or capture the beautiful night view of Singapore from the Sands SkyPark Observation Deck. Day 2: Sentosa Island Sentosa Island: Known as the "State of Fun," Sentosa Island is a popular tourist destination. Enjoy the sun, sand, and waves. Visit Universal Studios Singapore for thrilling roller coasters and movie-themed attractions, or explore the S.E.A. Aquarium, home to over 100,000 marine animals. Relax on Siloso Beach in the evening and enjoy the warm sea breeze and charming island atmosphere. Day 3: Singapore Zoo - River Safari Singapore Zoo: This open-concept zoo is a great place to see various rare animals up close. See adorable pandas, kangaroos, and other animals, and enjoy exciting animal shows. River Safari: Adjacent to the Singapore Zoo, the River Safari focuses on freshwater ecosystems. Learn about the ecological environments and biodiversity of different rivers. Day 4: Fort Canning Park - Chinatown - Clarke Quay Fort Canning Park: As one of Singapore's historical sites, Fort Canning Park has a rich history and beautiful natural scenery. Stroll through the lush greenery and enjoy panoramic city views. Chinatown: Singapore's Chinatown is home to numerous East Asian restaurants and unique shops. Savor authentic Singaporean cuisine and buy souvenirs. Visit traditional Chinese cultural landmarks like the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. Clarke Quay: Singapore's nightlife hub, Clarke Quay, is a great place to enjoy the night view and savor delicious food. Take a river cruise, or enjoy a delicious dinner and stroll along the riverbank. Day 5: Jewel Changi Airport - Orchard Road Jewel Changi Airport: An extension of Changi Airport, one of the world's best airports, Jewel Changi Airport features the world's tallest indoor waterfall, along with numerous shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Enjoy shopping, dining, and the beautiful indoor waterfall. Orchard Road: Singapore's shopping paradise, Orchard Road, is home to many international and local designer brands. Enjoy shopping and experience Singapore's fashion and trends. Visit ION Orchard, Ngee Ann City, and other malls for a one-stop shopping experience. Things to Note: Singapore has many ants. Keep your indoor space clean and avoid leaving food residue to prevent ant infestations. Occasional rain in February, so bring an umbrella. Air conditioning is strong indoors, so bring a light jacket to avoid catching a cold. Be mindful of regulations on eating in public places, such as the no-eating rule on the subway. Press the button when crossing the road to avoid long waits. Singapore is a charming country. My February trip was wonderful and unforgettable, and I look forward to exploring its wonders again. Singapore is truly a captivating country. My February trip was fantastic! I look forward to exploring more of its beauty next time.

Great Classy Short Retreat at Oakwood!

Great Classy Short Retreat at Oakwood!

This Oakwood has been on my radar since my staycay binge started, then a recent Trip.com promo triggered that impulse and my booking was done fast & furious for yet another weekday stay. Check In – Arriving to an empty Oakwood bell desk on a weekday late morning, I took the lift to level 7 where the lobby is located. The space was completely empty when I arrived and was attended to by Nicole who was all smiley efficiency. S Room – My Studio King (28-32 SqM), Room 3110, was really quite nice! The split function layout made the space feel bigger than it is. You’ll see a kitchenette which contains your mini bar, nespresso coffee and tea bags, as well as a fully equipped stock of glassware and cutleries etc, then your bedroom which contains a huge hollywood king (2 super single beds pushed together) which was just the right amount of softness for me, alongside 2 bedside tables and lights control. Opposite the bed is a chilling daybed and coffee table, a WFH set up of bench table + chair, as well as a non-smart TV. The bathroom is a tight space – fully adequate for a short stay though. A single sink with limited countertop space adjacent to the toilet, and then your shower stall on the other end. Toiletries are Comfort Zone’s Mediterranean series which was not too bad. Breakfast – My stay straddled the return of Phase 2 Heightened Alert and my breakfast the next morning was impacted unfortunately. Due to the no dine- in rule, in-house guests with breakfast included in their package are invited to order and collect their breakfast at their restaurant, Se7enth , located at level 7 from 6:30am – 10:00am. The items to be packed into your boxes are on display presuming so you can see or pick & choose if you like. Facilities – Both the Fitness Centre and the Pool are located on level 7 and you meander your way through a short walkway to them. This space is also where the Executive Lounge is which would have been quite nice on normal days. Great Stay! #hotelstay#urbanexplorer
