45.7 Beihai Guantouling

45.7 Beihai Guantouling

🌈Hidden Gem 💕There is a white sandy beach on the west side of Guantouling, with swings, benches, and a pink car covered in flowers. It's a great place for girls to take photos. It's easy to walk around the beach clockwise from Haikushilan after the tide goes out, but it can get crowded. 💕We went there in the morning before the tide went out, and the sea blocked the flat road. The stone turtle at Haikushilan was just above the water. You can climb the sea-eroded reef from Haikushilan and climb over some large rocks (be careful if you have elderly or children with you) to see the view on the other side of the mountain. 💕Once you climb over the reef, the road is much easier to walk, and you can see the beautiful coastline. The sea has eroded the west ridge over the years, forming the jagged sea-eroded reef. 💕There are few tourists on the beach on this side of the mountain, so you can enjoy the beach all to yourself. You can listen to the waves, swing, sunbathe, and enjoy the sea breeze. 🌈Haikushilan Before the tide goes out, the railings of Haikushilan are submerged in the water, and you can only see a circle of small stone pillars in the waves. At this time, the stone turtle's back and head are exposed, looking like it's carrying a boulder from afar. 🌈Beautiful Reef 💕We went to Guantouling on a clear day, and the sea was wide and deep blue, with waves rolling and white spray. 💕The black-brown sea-eroded reef has clear lines and beautiful curves. Standing on the reef, you can hear the waves crashing and see the waves crashing behind you. 🌈Lighthouse The red and white striped lighthouse stands out against the blue sky and water, contrasting with the ruins on the shore, creating a unique beauty. 🌈Coastline 💕Over the mountain is a jagged coastline, with distinct and smooth rocks that feel every wave. Walking on the reef, the white waves are like a breeze, gently brushing the rocks, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere. 💕The sand under the ridge is beige and grainy, with small crabs and shells hidden in the rocks. 🌈Hidden Beach 💕The sky is blue like metal, with a uniform texture and a hard sheen. The sea is blue like a gem, pure and deep, shining brightly. The beach, half-surrounded by the west ridge, is even whiter in the sunlight. 💕Facing the sea, you can sit on the swing and watch the waves on the shore, which are crystal clear and varied. The sun, the sea, the beach, and the flowers... It's so romantic. It would be great to take photos in a light-colored dress. 🌈Exit The beach ends at a cliff, where there is a wooden viewing platform about 10 meters high. The base is not very stable, so it's okay for one person to go up, but it shakes a bit with two people. I'm not sure if it's been reinforced, so be careful. Behind the viewing platform is a hotel, and you can go through the hotel to get to the viewing road.

High service, high cost performance, first-line sea view homestay!!

High service, high cost performance, first-line sea view homestay!!

I want to say! The homestay I booked for this trip to Weizhou Island is really right. The homestay is by the sea, a few tens of meters away from the sea. Located in the bustling Nanwan Street, you can reach nearby coffee shops, bars, seafood markets, etc. within about 10 minutes on foot. The location is super superior. There are only 5 guest rooms. The decoration is a simple style, very comfortable, each room can see the sea, the space is spacious and bright. The facilities are very complete, each one has: projector, sound, bathtub, mini fridge, full-length mirror, leisure chair.. 4th floor sea view terrace suite, you can enjoy the private soaking pool, it is very comfortable to drink afternoon tea while watching the sea. The 1.8 large bed and 4-meter-wide tatami in the room are very friendly to families with children. Highlights Eating and drinking are very convenient. No matter how you take pictures, they are very out of the picture, the scenery is super great. There is a beach a few minutes walk from the homestay that provides rental electric cars. It's only a 10-minute ride from Dripping Danping, Shiluokou Beach. If you don't know what to play on Weizhou Island, the homestay can also help plan the itinerary. Food There are many gourmet restaurants around, and the restaurants on Nanwan Street that want seafood processing can all be processed. From the homestay, you can reach the Nanwan Seafood Market in 3 minutes on foot. There are a lot of seafood, and the price is very affordable. You can compare the goods with three homes before buying.

Very relaxing and comfortable, hoping life slows down

That must sound interesting! Going to the beach is a great way to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Off-season Beihai is back, highly recommended!

Off-season Beihai is back, highly recommended!

Lunar New Year came early this year, leaving a longer post-holiday period. After some research, I decided on Guangxi, visiting Nanning, Beihai, and Chongzuo. Guilin was on the itinerary, but a cold snap made it less appealing, so I skipped it. Overall, the trip was great, and the off-season had its perks. Here's a detailed account of my second stop, Beihai. The high-speed train from Nanning to Beihai is super convenient, just over an hour. Beihai felt noticeably warmer, several degrees higher than Nanning. From the Beihai train station, a rideshare to my hotel was incredibly cheap, only around CNY 10. I booked an oceanfront room with a balcony at Qiaogang Beach for under CNY 300 a night, including breakfast—what a steal! Now, why not stay near Silver Beach? Hotels and guesthouses there are set back from the beach itself. Silver Beach Park, while free, is fenced with limited access points. If your accommodation isn't close to an entrance, getting to the beach can be a hassle. Qiaogang Beach has a few hotels right on the sand, offering oceanfront rooms. Mine was one of them, with a balcony directly facing the sea—the cover photo was taken right from there. Besides the beachfront rooms, Qiaogang Beach's biggest advantage is its tranquility—it's blissfully uncrowded! The sand is fine and soft, perfect for beachcombing. The amenities are good too, with plenty of affordable restaurants near the beach entrance. A CNY 94 seafood meal for two included a huge plate of salt and pepper mantis shrimp, steamed scallops with vermicelli, cuttlefish cakes, stir-fried clams, greens, and a pitcher of passion fruit juice. It was amazing, exceeding all expectations. Off-season Weizhou Island was also fantastic. My guesthouse room near the Xijiao Pier was spacious, with a nice view and a reasonable price of under CNY 300 per night. I rented an e-bike and toured the island, visiting Crocodile Mountain, Dishuidanping, the Catholic Church, Shell Beach, and Colorful Beach—every spot was worth exploring. The seafood dinners for two on Nanwan Commercial Street were excellent. If you know your seafood, you can buy it fresh at the market and have a restaurant cook it for you—convenient and budget-friendly. Of course, the off-season has its downsides. The weather wasn't ideal; it was overcast almost every day in Beihai. The coastal scenery loses some of its magic without sunshine.

Beihai's most beautiful niche 360° seascape highway

Beihai's most beautiful niche 360° seascape highway

📍Location: Beihai Tieshangang District☆Yangfan Avenue 🔍The most beautiful 360° sea highway🛣️ comma-shaped white sand beach. Few people and more beautiful scenery than expected 🚗We drove from Beibu Gulf No.1, with a speed limit of 70km, about a 50-minute journey. Set the navigation to Yangfan Avenue, turn onto Haida Avenue for 20km to Yangfan Avenue, and even if the navigation ends before reaching the destination, don't worry, just keep driving forward. Although the road is under construction with metal fences, our SUV can pass through normally, just drive to the end of the road. 🏠There are basically no facilities around because it is an industrial area, it looks completely undeveloped. Before approaching the island, there are a few snack shops by the roadside where buying water is still possible. If you have a drone✈️, you can capture the beauty of picture 1. During high tide, it's the comma-shaped sand beach🏝️, and during low tide, it resembles a fishbone sandbar. There are very few cars on the highway, making it super photogenic. If you have children you can also bring a shovel and bucket🪣 to dig in the white sand and collect shells🐚, the kids really enjoy it. ⌚Time suggestion: Go when the sun is shining🌞, avoiding the hottest time at noon, either in the afternoon or evening. According to locals, it gets lively at night with residents selling things and singing nearby, and the distant factory🏭 lights create another atmosphere. Today's happiness😃 is given by the sea.

Beihai Yintan Kaiyuan Mingdu Hotel is a great place for a family vacation.

Beihai Yintan Kaiyuan Mingdu Hotel is a great place for a family vacation.

Beihai Yintan Kaiyuan Mingdu Hotel is a great place for a family vacation. 💯 ❤️ Waiting to check in | Although it was the peak summer season and the hotel was fully booked, we had to wait for our room to be cleaned. However, the hotel lobby was large and spacious, with a tea and snack area where guests could help themselves to free tea and snacks. ✅ There was also a conference room next to the tea area where cartoons were shown, so the kids didn't get bored while waiting. 🧡 Butler service | When checking in, the front desk asked if we needed butler service. If we did, the butler would add us on WeChat. This was great, as it showed respect for the guests' wishes. If we didn't need it, we wouldn't be disturbed. The butler service was also very prompt and responsive. During peak dining times, when the delivery robots were busy, the butler would personally deliver takeout to our room. 👍🏻 💛 Room | We stayed in a sea view room, which overlooked the pool and the bustling beach. The hotel is located in the Yintan Scenic Area, so we could hear the beach manager blowing his whistle from our room. It wasn't too noisy and was acceptable. One minor complaint was the design of the corridor, which was open and had no air conditioning, making it a bit stuffy in the summer. 💚 There was a small detail in the room that impressed me. All the unused sockets on the wall had protective covers. I've stayed in many family-friendly hotels, but I've rarely seen such attention to detail. They really thought of everything. 🩵 Pool | The pool was spacious, with plenty of lounge chairs. There were three separate areas, water play equipment, a bar, and water play rings available for rent. 💙 Beach | The sunrise and sunset were beautiful! We could walk to the beach from the pool. The hotel provided many children's sand play tools, ✅ which were available for free at the pool (you just needed to scan a QR code and follow an account, which was easy to do). The beach was part of the scenic area and had fine sand that was comfortable to walk on barefoot. The seawater was relatively clean, although not as clean as in Sanya. When there were many tourists, it was best to walk to the left side of the beach from the hotel, as there were fewer people there. 💜 Restaurant | The food was varied and delicious, but the only complaint was the layout of the food area, which was a bit crowded during peak breakfast times. 🤍 Surroundings | There were food stalls, restaurants, and supermarkets opposite the hotel, which were very convenient. Takeout orders arrived within half an hour.
