High service, high cost performance, first-line sea view homestay!!

High service, high cost performance, first-line sea view homestay!!

I want to say! The homestay I booked for this trip to Weizhou Island is really right. The homestay is by the sea, a few tens of meters away from the sea. Located in the bustling Nanwan Street, you can reach nearby coffee shops, bars, seafood markets, etc. within about 10 minutes on foot. The location is super superior. There are only 5 guest rooms. The decoration is a simple style, very comfortable, each room can see the sea, the space is spacious and bright. The facilities are very complete, each one has: projector, sound, bathtub, mini fridge, full-length mirror, leisure chair.. 4th floor sea view terrace suite, you can enjoy the private soaking pool, it is very comfortable to drink afternoon tea while watching the sea. The 1.8 large bed and 4-meter-wide tatami in the room are very friendly to families with children. Highlights Eating and drinking are very convenient. No matter how you take pictures, they are very out of the picture, the scenery is super great. There is a beach a few minutes walk from the homestay that provides rental electric cars. It's only a 10-minute ride from Dripping Danping, Shiluokou Beach. If you don't know what to play on Weizhou Island, the homestay can also help plan the itinerary. Food There are many gourmet restaurants around, and the restaurants on Nanwan Street that want seafood processing can all be processed. From the homestay, you can reach the Nanwan Seafood Market in 3 minutes on foot. There are a lot of seafood, and the price is very affordable. You can compare the goods with three homes before buying.

"Stunning Weizhou Island, picturesque island scenery" - Weizhou Island,

"Stunning Weizhou Island, picturesque island scenery" - Weizhou Island,

"Stunning Weizhou Island, picturesque island scenery" I visited Weizhou Island, and the sights and feelings are etched in my heart. When I first set foot on the island, the sea breeze brushed my face, fresh and pleasant. Looking into the distance, the sea was boundless, and the waves rolled like thousands of horses galloping. "The spring river tide is level with the sea, and the bright moon rises with the tide," this scene is just like the poem. Walking on the beach, the fine sand was like silk, soft and comfortable underfoot. The waves crashed against the shore, splashing white foam like snow. Shells were scattered, colorful, like stars falling to the ground. The trees on the island were lush, with branches and leaves intertwined, blocking out the sun. The birds chirped, melodious and pleasant, as if telling the wonders of nature. "The cicadas chirp, the forest is quieter, the birds sing, the mountains are more secluded," in this environment, the heart is naturally calm. At the volcano crater, the rocks were jagged and varied in shape. Some were like giant pythons coiled, others like eagles spreading their wings. The traces of time were clearly visible, making one marvel at the wonders of creation. At dusk, the afterglow of the setting sun sprinkled on the sea, the waves shimmering like golden scales. The evening glow on the horizon was gorgeous, red, orange, yellow, and green, reflecting each other. "A remnant of the sun spreads on the water, half the river is blue, half the river is red," this scene is breathtaking. Staying overnight on the island, the sea breeze gently brushed, the sound of waves in my ears, accompanying me to sleep. This journey, the beauty of Weizhou, deeply touched my heart. May the years be peaceful, and I will return one day to enjoy this scenery again.

Off-season Beihai is back, highly recommended!

Off-season Beihai is back, highly recommended!

Lunar New Year came early this year, leaving a longer post-holiday period. After some research, I decided on Guangxi, visiting Nanning, Beihai, and Chongzuo. Guilin was on the itinerary, but a cold snap made it less appealing, so I skipped it. Overall, the trip was great, and the off-season had its perks. Here's a detailed account of my second stop, Beihai. The high-speed train from Nanning to Beihai is super convenient, just over an hour. Beihai felt noticeably warmer, several degrees higher than Nanning. From the Beihai train station, a rideshare to my hotel was incredibly cheap, only around CNY 10. I booked an oceanfront room with a balcony at Qiaogang Beach for under CNY 300 a night, including breakfast—what a steal! Now, why not stay near Silver Beach? Hotels and guesthouses there are set back from the beach itself. Silver Beach Park, while free, is fenced with limited access points. If your accommodation isn't close to an entrance, getting to the beach can be a hassle. Qiaogang Beach has a few hotels right on the sand, offering oceanfront rooms. Mine was one of them, with a balcony directly facing the sea—the cover photo was taken right from there. Besides the beachfront rooms, Qiaogang Beach's biggest advantage is its tranquility—it's blissfully uncrowded! The sand is fine and soft, perfect for beachcombing. The amenities are good too, with plenty of affordable restaurants near the beach entrance. A CNY 94 seafood meal for two included a huge plate of salt and pepper mantis shrimp, steamed scallops with vermicelli, cuttlefish cakes, stir-fried clams, greens, and a pitcher of passion fruit juice. It was amazing, exceeding all expectations. Off-season Weizhou Island was also fantastic. My guesthouse room near the Xijiao Pier was spacious, with a nice view and a reasonable price of under CNY 300 per night. I rented an e-bike and toured the island, visiting Crocodile Mountain, Dishuidanping, the Catholic Church, Shell Beach, and Colorful Beach—every spot was worth exploring. The seafood dinners for two on Nanwan Commercial Street were excellent. If you know your seafood, you can buy it fresh at the market and have a restaurant cook it for you—convenient and budget-friendly. Of course, the off-season has its downsides. The weather wasn't ideal; it was overcast almost every day in Beihai. The coastal scenery loses some of its magic without sunshine.

A beautiful, romantic island free of worries

A beautiful, romantic island free of worries

Weizhou Island, the largest volcanic island in China, is located in the Beibu Gulf north of Beihai City, Guangxi. The island's stunning natural scenery, rich marine life, and unique volcanic landforms create a vibrant and colorful island world. The best time to visit: The ideal time to visit Weizhou Island is in mid-April each year, when the climate is warm and the seawater is clear.

Beihai!! Don't ask, just go.

Beihai!! Don't ask, just go.

During my stay in Beihai, I was very satisfied with the hotels I stayed in. The hotels brought a lot of emotional value to my trip. I have to say that I am really good at choosing hotels. I feel that my money is well spent. 1. [Asaka IKEA Yintan Sea View Hotel] IKEA co-branded minimalist style, the room is very large, with a garden and a separate restaurant. The hotel also has a cinema and a restaurant, as well as an art gallery. I booked a sea view room, so when I woke up in the morning, the sun and the view outside the window were really healing. Except for the location, it is not so convenient to go anywhere by taxi. In other words, the cost performance is very high. 2. [Beihai Neighbor Designer Hotel] Pastoral style, but the decoration is very ins. As soon as I entered the courtyard, my heart was calm. Lying on the bed in the room, I could see the small lake outside the window. The back door is Liuxia Village. When the sun goes down and it is not so hot, go to Guantouling Beach to see the sea. After playing in Qiaogang Fengqing Street, I think it is very convenient to live here. 3. [Beihai Yintan Mr. Liu Meets Miss Fan Holiday Homestay] A homestay in a villa area near Yintan, very close to Beihai International Passenger Port. This homestay can pick up and drop off at the high-speed railway station and passenger port. The homestay also has a swimming pool and a room with a projector. The boss lady is super good!!! She also asked us what platform we usually use to watch movies, so she can open a membership. I think the service is greater than the room environment. The breakfast was unexpectedly delicious. The enthusiasm of the boss lady has filled my travel experience.

Guangxi, Beihai, Weizhou Island, Chengzi Church Ruins

Guangxi, Beihai, Weizhou Island, Chengzi Church Ruins

The church was built around 1880 by Father Li of the French Catholic Church. The front of the church features a three-story square bell tower that is 4.5 meters wide and 14 meters high. The bell tower is engraved with the words "Church of Our Lady". Behind the bell tower is a rectangular church with a construction area of 265 square meters. Connected to the back corner of the church is a two-story priest's building with a construction area of 405 square meters. The building is a typical European rural Gothic church and is the only Church of Our Lady in the Beihai area. It is a historical witness to the introduction of the French Catholic Church to Weizhou Island in modern times.

You must go for sea foraging!

You must go for sea foraging!

Mangrove Sea Foraging Adventure Guide❗️ Drive yourself to explore the mangrove beaches and experience the thrilling fun of jet skiing! 🚗Traffic and Parking: Choose to drive to the mangroves, use navigation along the way, and upon arrival, local people nearby will wave to indicate where to park. Parking lots are everywhere, and the parking fee is 20 yuan per car, valid for the whole day. 🎒Equipment Rental: After getting off the car, you can rent the necessary tools at the nearby intersection or entrance. The rental points with clearly marked prices offer a rake for 5 yuan, a shovel for 5 yuan, a bucket for 10 yuan, two pairs of rain boots for 20, and two hats for 10 yuan, totaling 50 yuan, plus a 50 yuan deposit. I noticed that elsewhere a set of tools might only cost 20 yuan, but without rain boots and hats, so overall the prices are similar. You can rent directly at the entrance. 🏍️Exploration Trip: After getting the tools, you can start your exploration trip without a ticket or a guide. It is recommended to choose a jet ski to experience the excitement of traveling at sea. The rental price can be negotiated with the master, usually 30 yuan/person, and it may be cheaper when there are fewer people. Inform the master of your destination, such as digging for conches or razor clams, and you can ask for advice and pay extra fees accordingly. Remember to ask for the master's phone number in case you need to contact them when leaving. ⛏️Digging Skills: During the exploration, it is advised to use a rake rather than a shovel for better results. Observe the air holes on the beach, which are mostly conches or hermit crabs. Pull the rake down to dig out the conches. If you encounter locals digging, don't hesitate to ask for advice; there's no need to worry about social barriers. Attraction Highlights: The seagrass area near the beach is a gathering place for small crabs and is worth exploring.
