A delicious lunch filled with classic Flemish flavors! From os à moelle and moules-frites with Maroilles sauce to beef carbonade, beef tartare, steak with Maroilles sauce, and Basque chicken. 🍴 And of course, we finished with café gourmand and profiteroles—the perfect sweet ending! 🤎 #bethune #frenchcuisine #flemishcuisine #flanders #mussels #lannexe #moulesfrites

mountain always astonishing

A few weeks ago, my friend and I visited Béthune, a small city in northern France. Although small, it's brimming with history and charm. Entering the city center square, the first thing that catches the eye is the magnificent clock tower and the surrounding colorful buildings; each facade is like a painting. The sun was shining brightly that day, and people leisurely sipped coffee and chatted at the outdoor cafes, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. We strolled through the old streets, discovering many charming little shops and local bakeries, their aromas filling the air. As evening fell, the clock tower's chimes echoed through the city, adding a warm resonance to our short trip to northern France.

We found this beautiful church while walking around the town square (grand place) in Béthune. It was built in 1547. Its monumental architecture is in the regionalist neo-Gothic (neo-Flemish) style. #bethune #church #architecture #pasdecalais #flanders #flemish #france #europe
