Rent a Vespa and ride around Italy alone on your dream route.
🏍️Rent a Vespa 125 and ride around Italy alone on your dream route.
Stelvio Pass is a beautiful route. It's a steep road with lots of sharp turns and breathtaking mountain views. Bikers from all over come to conquer this route in the summer. It's closed in winter due to heavy snowfall.
Stelvio Pass is located in northern Italy, bordering Switzerland, at an elevation of 2,757 meters. It's the highest paved mountain in the Eastern Alps and the second highest in the Alps.
🌎Travel Plan: Actually, we just drive along, feeling like we'll sleep wherever night falls. So, the plan isn't fixed, depending on the weather. But I really wanted to ride the Stelvio Pass and spend the remaining days riding leisurely.
🌞Day 1: Barcelona to Milan
Choose a morning flight. In order to pick up the Vespa in the afternoon, we completed the paperwork, paid, and rode the Vespa to Lake Como.
I highly recommend staying overnight. It's beautiful. Milan to Lake Como is about 100 km, 2-3 hours.
🌞Day 2: Wake up late and ride around Lake Como.
Then, we pinned Stelvio Pass and stayed in Bormio.
🌞Day 3: Check out and ride up Stelvio Pass again. We planned to go to Furka Pass, but were charged an additional €2,500 deposit, approximately 95,000 baht, and had to use our credit card. We canceled that plan and instead went to Bolzano. However, it rained all day and was cold, so we stayed in Golddrain, a rural town with many apple orchards.
🌞Day 4: Leave Golddrain for Bolzano. The city was very busy, crowded, and the accommodations were expensive. We saw a mountain view, so we rode up the mountain. The view was beautiful and there were many vineyards. We could continue to the Dolomites. We descended the mountain in the afternoon. Then we rode two other popular passes, the Passo Mendola and the Tonale Pass. After sunset, we stayed in Cevo.
🌞Day 5: Leave Cevo in the late morning and ride into Milan.
In the afternoon, check in to your accommodation and take the train to explore central Milan.
🌞Day 6: Spend the day shopping, strolling around the city, taking photos. In the afternoon, return the car and take the bus to the airport.
📍If you rent a car with a lot of CCs or plan to stay for multiple days, I recommend collecting other passes to make it more worthwhile, since you're already here.
-Furka Pass
-Gavia Pass
-Passo di Santa Maria
-Albula Pass
-Klausen Pass
-Or ride the Dolomites, which are also beautiful.
