Some older stations can look rundown and aren't as clean as some metros in other countries. Furthermore, there are airport-like baggage check-ins, which can sometimes lead to small queues. Another favorite is the women-only booths, which makes it more convenient for solo travelers. The fares are excellent, tens of times cheaper than taxis, making it a popular choice among locals. Overall, the Cairo Metro is ideal for those looking for fast, affordable travel and avoiding being stuck in the middle of a busy street. It's recommended to avoid the morning and evening commutes. The food is another highlight, especially the mango smoothies, which are unexpectedly delicious—rich, fragrant, and refreshing, truly the best thing in Egypt. Countless drivers will try to offer you a private car service, but unless you really want to avoid hassle, it’s unnecessary! If you plan to explore on your own without a guide, it’s advisable to at least read some history about ancient Egypt beforehand to understand better. Whether it’s worth going inside Khufu is subjective—there’s really nothing inside, but once inside, you’ll feel it’s not something built by ancient people.
