2026 Cala Ferrera Travel Guide: must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transport & travel experiences (updated in September)

The hotel is in an excellent spot, right between the most beautiful and famous coves in the area. We stayed in building B: the apartment was lovely, spacious, and exactly as shown in the photos, offering a pleasant view of the pool and surrounding facilities. Speaking of the pool, it was very clean and spacious. A standout feature was the kindness of the staff, especially the receptionist Africa, who assisted us with great professionalism during check-in and check-out. The only minor note regards the dining: while the food quality was excellent, the menu seemed more tailored to an international rather than Italian clientele. Overall, it was a great experience that we highly recommend! In the evenings, you can take a short walk to the nearby cove for some nightlife and drinks. Even in August, we had no trouble finding parking.

About a week before departure, I emailed the hotel via their website to ask about kettles, beach towels, and bringing along our folding mobility scooter—my wife struggles with arthritis in her knees. Receiving no response, I decided to call directly. The manageress assured me we could rent towels with a deposit, there’s a kettle in the room, and the scooter would be accommodated. This reassurance was short-lived, though; at the airport, the scooter wouldn’t start, leaving it abandoned in the car. Despite this, we arrived five hours later, scooter-less but eager to check in. As booked, our room in the newly refurbished building was delightful, overlooking the Cala canyon and the sea. The tasteful décor immediately stood out, much like "The King" noticing fresh paint everywhere. The room was clean, cool with the aircon stuck at 17 degrees, and had all essentials, with regular cleaning to maintain it that way. Meals were varied, offering plenty to mix and match, but I prefer my food piping hot—some dishes veered closer to lukewarm. With outside temperatures in the low 40s, though, it wasn’t much of an issue. As for the pool, I noticed sand and debris collecting in one corner halfway through our stay and mentioned it to the lifeguard. His "Maintaineo" response reflected a "not-my-job" attitude, but to his credit, the pool was cleaned promptly the next morning. Watching from our balcony, I didn’t see any routine water testing, which, being trained in pool maintenance, left me curious. A simple whiteboard for displaying daily water readings would’ve reassured me. Sunrise brought the infamous Sunbed Dash. I try to hold out, but eventually succumbed to joining in this daily ritual. What bothers me most, however, are people reserving sunbeds and then disappearing for the day. It’s easy to imagine a future where sunbeds are numbered and rented. Beachgoers often used the hotel’s sun deck as a shortcut to the hotel or its neighbor. Though it spared kids from walking around the main road and didn’t bother me much, I wasn’t thrilled by two lads taking a dip, washing off their sunscreen in the pool, and rinsing their sandals. Let’s just say we’ve got a few choice words in English for behaviors like that. This might sound negative, but here’s why this hotel crosses from being good to great: the staff. For anyone infirm or disabled, there’s a stairlift from the lobby to the pool deck, operated by staff who were always patient and willing to help my wife on and off, doing so up to six times a day. A box lift might have been more practical, but the team’s helpfulness made up for the inconvenience. In the restaurants, bars, and reception, their service was superb—nothing was too much trouble. Entertainment was light but enjoyable in the evenings. When the main lift broke down, we were discreetly escorted using a "secret service lift" (shhh!). Upon learning about our scooter trouble, the receptionist arranged for a new rugged terrain model to be delivered next day. This allowed us to explore Cala Gran, visit the marina in daylight, and even enjoy a Freddy Mercury tribute performance at night—opportunities we wouldn’t have had otherwise. On departure day, when we requested an early wake-up call, the hotel went the extra mile by offering complimentary snacks and coffee. Our trip concluded on a high note as we experienced a Total Eclipse on a catamaran cruise, courtesy of Starfish, from the jetty nearby. It was the cherry on top of a brilliant holiday. We've just come back from an 11-night stay at this hotel, and I can confidently say it was amazing! The hotel itself was of excellent quality, but it was the remarkable animation team that truly made our holiday unforgettable. We traveled as a mixed-age group, with our eldest family member being 82, the youngest 15, and a 19-year-old also among us, and everyone found something to enjoy. To start, we paid extra for a sea-view room, and it turned out to be absolutely worthwhile. The view was breathtaking, and the room itself was excellent, equipped with useful amenities like a hairdryer, a mini fridge, dental kits, toiletries, and excellent air conditioning. The food was brilliant, with breakfast standing out as the best we've ever had. The range of options was impressive, catering to all tastes. Personal favorites included the fried eggs and donuts. While we didn't explore the indoor wellness pool, both outdoor pools had their unique appeal. The upstairs family pool was lively and full of activity but could get quite hot in the afternoon, while the sea-view pool offered a cooler, shaded area later in the day. This made for a perfect combination—lounging by the pool and visiting the sea—offering a great variety throughout our stay. We opted for the standard all-inclusive package rather than upgrading to AI Plus and found it more than sufficient. The selection of drinks was fantastic, and even with AI, the drinks in the evenings came nicely presented in glasses. The thoughtful touches truly made a difference. The entertainment was top-notch, thanks to the exceptional animation team. They were all incredible dancers and performers, and their nightly shows were impressive and entertaining. They hosted a variety of activities throughout the week, including unique and fun options like aqua biking, aqua boxing, dance sessions, aqua mat exercises, a pool party, and a silent disco night—all great additions to our experience. Even my older parents ended up having a blast! Special recognition goes to Coco Loco, Cappuccino, Brazil, Papicello, Macarena, Shakira, Barbie, their talented Choreographer and DJ, and Nutella, who beautifully handled the kids' club. The hotel should be proud of their efforts; their energy and dedication enriched the experience for everyone. The bars at the hotel added to the delightful experience. We enjoyed the offerings at the two pool bars, the family pool’s snack area, and the bar by the sea-view pool. The Bolero bar, where we watched the evening shows, was outstanding. The staff here were attentive, friendly, and quick to serve drinks at our tables as we enjoyed the entertainment. The lively atmosphere was complemented by a little games room for kids, pool tables, and accessible board games and cards. Seeing guests chilling with drinks, enjoying the AC, and participating in games was a lovely sight. The hotel's location was stunning—right by the beach with easy access to everything. A pleasant walk to town, lined with shops and bars, added to the charm, and the mini train was another enjoyable touch. If there's one thing that could be improved, it would be the lifts—patience is key as they will eventually arrive. A suggestion for future enhancements would be adding a football court at the front. All in all, this is one of my favorite places and we've had an unforgettable stay. The hotel is perfect for all ages and types of travelers, from couples to families to singles from various countries. Thank you for making our holiday extraordinary, and we’ll definitely consider returning!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barceló Ponent Beach. From the very beginning, we felt at home, largely due to the warm, friendly, and professional approach of the entire team. We want to give special recognition to Judith, who was delightful throughout our stay. Her attentiveness, kindness, and close interaction truly made a difference and made us feel exceptionally welcomed. We would also like to thank the whole team at Barceló Ponent Beach for the exceptional treatment we received. The positive atmosphere and professionalism of the staff were evident, always paired with smiles and a willingness to help at any time. We leave with fantastic memories of our days in Mallorca, especially the feeling of being at home. A heartfelt thank you to Judith and the entire team for making our stay so memorable. I had an incredible 4-night, 5-day holiday here in June 2026. Traveling solo, I immediately felt very safe, welcomed, and well-cared for from the moment I arrived. Angel at reception was the kindest person ever. My apartment was spacious, featuring a veranda with a large sunbed and a view of the pool, as well as Cala Ferrera beach just a few steps away. Every morning at 7:30, I loved swimming at the beach before it got crowded. The apartment's air conditioning and shower were excellent—very powerful with plenty of hot water. My double bed was super comfy, and the fridge was spacious. Though I only used the kettle for coffee and didn't touch the hob, everything was more than sufficient. For just a €10 refundable deposit, I could access clean pool and beach towels whenever I needed. As I made coffee in my room, I didn't try the breakfast. The pool was wonderfully refreshing, and the entire complex, including the pool area, was spotless, with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available. My only regret is not staying longer. I will definitely return! xx

This was one of the most beautiful trips we've ever shared as mother and daughter. ❤️ From day one, we felt genuinely cared for and so warmly welcomed at this hotel. The whole team was amazing, but I want to specifically thank Claudia at reception. I honestly can't remember meeting someone so kind, warm, and genuinely lovely. Claudia is not only beautiful on the outside but has the most beautiful heart. ❤️ Her smile, kindness, and the way she treats every guest are truly exceptional. There aren’t enough words to express what a wonderful person she is. Thanks to her, we immediately felt at home. A huge thank you to the entire team – everyone from the reception staff to the chefs and everyone who took care of us daily. We loved this hotel! Our room was spacious, with a balcony overlooking the spa pool in block 2. The air conditioning in the room was fantastic. The staff were lovely and kind, particularly the housekeeping team. The pool was relaxing, and sunbeds were always available, no matter the time of day. The hotel was exceptionally clean. The rooftop sky lounge was stunning, offering a perfect spot for a sunset drink in a gorgeous setting. The hotel is conveniently located about a 5-minute walk from Cala Ferrera town and a 15–20-minute walk to Cala d’Or. There’s also a bus stop right outside that goes directly into Cala d’Or. From there, you can walk to the marina. After dinner, we typically walked back to the hotel. The only critique we have is that the pool area was a bit quiet; some chill music would have been a nice touch. Other than that, the hotel was amazing, and we will definitely return!

The hotel is beautiful, tidy, and stylish, with immaculate facilities. The pool was delightful, and the cozy snugs for reading and relaxing were absolutely amazing. Afternoon sax players added a lovely touch for a chilled time by the pool; I’d have loved more of that. Rooms are exceptionally clean and stylish, though I found the towels and robes could be fluffier—but that’s just nitpicking! The food was of excellent quality, and the staff were incredibly friendly and warm. I’d wholeheartedly recommend staying here. The location is ideal, situated near the marina, beaches, and town in a peaceful area much preferable to Cala Ferrera. It’s also conveniently close to Cala Petita beach and Cala Gran.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 days, and I must say the experience was fantastic. The location is exceptional, and the service from the entire staff was extraordinary. The entertainment options were very diverse and all of them were excellent. We’re from Palma, and we’ll definitely return!

The views from this hotel were unbeatable, so I highly recommend booking a sea view room. The accommodation was very clean, although we did experience an ant infestation that was resolved promptly after notifying reception. Unfortunately, our first two nights were affected by a power cut, leaving us without water, WiFi, lights, charging outlets, or lifts—a real challenge while staying on the fourth floor. On the bright side, the hotel compensated by allowing us to keep our room and all-inclusive access on our last day, which was greatly appreciated. The reception staff were excellent—always helpful and a true asset to the hotel. However, the bar service was disappointing, with just one staff member in the evenings leading to half-hour waits. The entertainment was very basic and didn’t add much to the stay. The location, however, was fantastic, with everything you might need just a few minutes away. A major drawback was the lack of sun loungers; if you didn’t claim one early, you were out of luck, especially if you had plans in the morning. Not everything is included with the all-inclusive package, and the snack options were very limited—just some sliced bread with cheese and ham on the side of the bar. While the food was well-cooked and tasty, the selection was narrow. Seafood lovers will be happy, but for others, going all-inclusive may not be worth it. The pool area could also use some renovations. The hotel manager was absolutely lovely, willing to offer help and very accommodating. Overall, highlights were the helpful reception staff, cleanliness, fabulous location, and tasty food, while downsides included being understaffed, limited entertainment, lack of sun loungers, and average facilities. Would I return? Probably not to the hotel, but I’d definitely revisit the area.

This hotel recently had a complete refurbishment, and the room we stayed in was modern, comfortable, and pleasant. The location is excellent—just a 20-minute walk to the center of Cala d’Or and only a few minutes to the beach. My only complaints are that some nights the food selection was inconsistent, and getting a sunbed was challenging unless you went out early or waited until mid-afternoon.

Absolutely nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The entertainment was exceptional—the animation team’s energy was electric and truly enhanced the atmosphere. On our last night, we were lucky to attend the White Party, which was a fantastic way to end the holiday with a bang! What stood out as well was the international feel of the hotel, with guests from all around the world—UK, France, Holland, Spain, Morocco, Australia, Canada, the U.S., and more—creating a really lovely atmosphere. The stunning view from our room added to the overall amazing experience. We highly recommend this hotel to family and friends, and we're already considering returning for another visit. A memorable holiday and a place we’ll cherish dearly! ❤️

This hotel had definite pros and cons. The location and ambiance were excellent. However, our room had a persistent damp, dirty smell throughout the holiday, and despite our efforts, the odor lingered, leaving all our clothes smelling unpleasant by the time we returned home. The air conditioning was terrible—we couldn’t sleep at night, which led us to buy three fans for relief, costing an extra 40 euros. We raised complaints at reception twice, but although they promised to send someone to check, nothing improved. Getting ready in the stifling heat was unbearable, and even the hallways and main restaurant were uncomfortably warm. The WiFi was problematic, as we couldn’t connect our phones, iPads, or Kindles during the entire week, resulting in unexpectedly high phone bills. On the positive side, the all-inclusive drinks were exceptional—better than any other hotel we’ve visited—with options like Aperol Spritz, Hugo Spritz, and Smirnoff vodka, served by kind and helpful bar staff and waiters. The food at the family pool was superb, offering fresh, tasty options like burgers, chips, and pizza daily. Conveniently, this area had fantastic air conditioning, making it an ideal spot to relax. The entertainment team truly made our holiday unforgettable. They brought incredible energy from morning till night and welcomed everyone warmly, encouraging participation. Their performances, especially the dancing, were amazing, leaving us thoroughly impressed every day. Although we’re not typically drawn to hotel entertainment, we made it a point to attend each evening and stayed until the end. We would return to this hotel just because of them. The beach being right next to the hotel was another highlight—we enjoyed it every morning. Renting a paddleboard was quite affordable at 15 euros, and you could hop on a boat trip to see dolphins for 60 euros, which looked fantastic.

The pools are perfect for kids, and the animation team does a fantastic job. The rooms were clean and spacious, the food offered plenty of variety, and the beach is just a few minutes' walk away. All the staff were very friendly throughout our stay. We would definitely return.

We are leaving tomorrow after a week at this hotel. This is our third time staying here. We stayed in the three-bedroom apartment for the first time, which is perfect for a family of five. Check-in was quicker than last time, thanks to the friendly George. The kids adore this place, and we do too, as it has everything—great pools, nearby shops, and a beach. The staff are fantastic as well; they checked in with us twice to see if we needed anything or if they could improve in any way. It was my birthday during our stay, and they surprised me with a card and a plate of cakes, which was such a thoughtful touch. One area for improvement is the food labeling. I mentioned this issue early on, and they assured me it was being addressed. However, it still wasn’t right on one of the nights—there was no label on a dessert. A staff member told me it was custard, but when I tried it, it was lemon curd. Thankfully, neither I nor my family has allergies, but this could be dangerous. The theme nights were good, with the Asian and Mexican being our favorites. Special mention goes to the animation team—they are fantastic and seem to improve every year. The two shows they put on during our stay were brilliant and featured great dancing. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place.

We stayed at Marsenses Natura for a five-night all-girls holiday in July. It was a lovely experience overall. Positives included the friendly and hardworking staff who did their best to make our holiday perfect. The hotel itself was modern and clean, located just a couple of minutes' walk from Ferrera Beach and about 15-20 minutes from Cala d'Or center. The rooms were comfortable and equipped with kitchen facilities for preparing small meals. We were on a half-board plan, enjoying tasty tapas-style meals with ample variety. On one afternoon, we participated in a fun aqua aerobics session in the pool, followed by a pool party with mojitos—entertaining but not overly loud or intrusive. On the downside, there was very limited storage in the rooms for three people, with no drawers for items like underwear or bikinis. The bathroom was small, offering no storage space for toiletries (though reception helped us by providing a couple of small tables). From reviews, it seems this storage issue is a recurring problem that has yet to be addressed, which is disappointing. Another concern was the access gates near the stairwell; they were open and posed a potential safety hazard. While the hotel is beautiful, the many steps make it less suitable for someone with mobility challenges. Would I return? Yes, but if staying for a longer period, I’d consider other hotels unless the storage issue is resolved.

Loved this adults-only hotel. Set on a gorgeous cove with stunning views, it was wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. The food, offered as all-inclusive, had plenty of variety and was delicious. The staff were lovely and welcoming, and the rooms, like the rest of the hotel, were clean and well-kept. I honestly couldn’t find a single fault with this holiday. We’ll definitely return.

The staff provided an outstanding level of service, especially the attention from the assistant manager and the team at the Magical Restaurant, as well as the buffet staff. We watched the World Cup matches, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The service from the waiters was excellent, and the assistant manager was consistently attentive, ensuring the ambiance was just right.

This was our second visit to this lovely place. Our first trip was 11 years ago when my son was just 6 months old. We adored it back then, and after traveling to different destinations in Majorca and around the world, we decided to return now that my boy is 11 and nearly as tall as I am. While the area has changed and the quaint little beach cove is now busier, heading there early in the morning still offers a serene and mostly empty experience. The same goes for the swimming pools. We opted for the all-inclusive package, and the food was incredible! There was always fresh fruit and vegetables, amazing seafood, and delicious cakes. I also want to express my gratitude to the incredible staff. The cleaning lady worked tirelessly to tidy our sandy, disheveled room after our frequent beach visits. The waiters were consistently attentive, promptly serving drinks and clearing plates, and the animation team impressed us with their commitment. They practiced their performances late into the night, ensuring they delivered flawless and enthusiastic shows to guests by the pool. I highly recommend this resort to families and anyone with kids. Who knows—maybe 11 years from now, my son will return with kids of his own!

We have previously stayed at the Ferrera Blanca and Paradise Club hotels and had wonderful family holidays. This time, we chose Rosa del Mar for its short transfer times and our trust in the brand. · *Water Policy Disappointment:** While we opted for full board, we were charged for water at dinner. Though juices, coffee, and water are available during breakfast, the lack of complimentary water with dinner is not mentioned on their website, which we found unacceptable. A meal without at least water seems incomplete, and this alone would deter us from returning. · *Friendly Staff and Cleanliness:** The staff were cheerful, always greeting us with smiles. The animation team was great with the kids, and the hotel itself was clean. Rooms are serviced every two days, but ours were cleaned only twice in our 10-day stay, as we stayed in during the hottest part of the day when housekeeping came around. · *Amenities and Pool:** There were plenty of sunbeds, all with parasols, but it’s best to secure one early. The staff enforced a policy to remove towels left before 10, which was appreciated. You can use the sunbeds from 9 after they’re cleaned. A special mention goes to the young lifeguard with a goatee—always friendly and attentive around the pool. The pools were clean, with decent space and inflatables allowed unless it got too crowded. Our kids (11 and 10) enjoyed the slides, but older children might find them small. The spa pool was a hit with the kids, who could use it for a couple of hours in the morning. · *Food Experience:** The food was acceptable but not remarkable—more canteen-style than restaurant-quality. Breakfast was standard, while dinner had limited options. The salad bar was disappointing, and desserts were repetitive and underwhelming. The small size of the hotel might explain the lack of variety. While indoor dining had air conditioning, the atmosphere felt more like a cafeteria. The outdoor seating was preferable. · *Pricing and Drinks:** The snack bar and drinks weren't too overpriced but also not cheap. Soft drinks at the pool, though, felt particularly costly—€2.90 for a small cup, which likely costs very little to produce. It’s a matter of perspective, but we felt prices generally leaned higher. Some guests opted for pizza from outlets near the hotel, as outside food or drinks by the pool were permitted. · *Plastic Bottles and Convenience Stores:** Oddly enough, there were no water fountains in the hotel, pushing guests to rely on plastic bottles—even as locals protest environmental damage. Water at the hotel cost €2.50, compared to €1 elsewhere. Drinks were also available at reception during the day, though we didn’t try these. Convenient stores nearby, like the tiny shop outside the hotel, often had better prices than the bigger Spar across the road. Aldi, just a five-minute walk away, was impressively cheap for own-brand items. · *Location and Rooms:** The location was ideal, close to the beach and offering pleasant evening strolls toward Palma Nova. However, turning in the opposite direction leads quickly to "gentlemen’s" clubs and less family-friendly bars—so it’s best to stay left. Our room was satisfactory, but the glass décor (doors and sink) seemed more stylish than practical. The shower, however, was excellent. The air conditioning was adequate, though capped at 26 degrees due to local regulations—hardly super cool. Also, paying a daily fee for a key-operated safe felt outdated and inconvenient. Overall, Rosa del Mar is a perfectly acceptable hotel for its category, but there’s nothing compelling enough to make us want to return.

This hotel is amazing; I've been coming here for 5 years now. All the staff and reps are incredibly friendly. Everyone is always so welcoming. The entertainment is consistently brilliant, and the games are so much fun. I definitely recommend it.

What a charming little hotel. The rooms were delightful and spotlessly clean, the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, and there were plenty of sunloungers without any hassle to secure one. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the beach and a 10-minute walk to the livelier part of Cala’dor, filled with numerous restaurants and shops. The food was excellent, offering a great variety that was super fresh, with staff promptly replenishing items and ensuring everything stayed hot. The snack bar had reasonable prices and offered a fantastic selection—especially the nachos, which were incredible! I couldn’t recommend this hotel more; had a truly positive experience and would happily return.

The location was excellent, just a 15-minute walk to the center of Cala D'Or. The bus stop to the market was only a 2-minute walk away, which was very convenient. The hotel had a warm, relaxing vibe, and the staff truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Our pool view room featured a wonderful balcony that received the evening sun, making it a delightful stay.

This hotel is lovely with incredibly friendly staff. It’s very clean, with high standards, as the rooms are cleaned daily and the beds are made. Initially, some reviews gave me doubts about the quality of the hotel, but they couldn't have been more wrong. It has been recently refurbished to a high standard. The breakfast offers plenty of choices, with a variety of hot and cold options. The only downside is the limited number of loungers around the pool, but the beautiful beach is just a short walk away. The reception and bar staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. Special thanks to Juan Anthony, Pablo, and Kali for making our stay so enjoyable.

On the last day of our incredible family holiday at Prinsotel Alba in Cala d'Or, we left thoroughly impressed. The hotel and its grounds are impeccably maintained. Every morning, the maintenance team was around the pool area, jet washing and cleaning before guests started their day, showing their commitment to upkeep. The housekeeping staff did an amazing job as well. Rooms were cleaned daily if requested, and we appreciated the door tag system that let us choose whether to have cleaning or not. Since our room stayed fairly tidy, we opted out of daily cleaning, which worked perfectly for us. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options. From full cooked breakfasts to cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, and yogurt, there was something for every taste. Dinner was good too, but the children's buffet could use some improvement. It lacked options like chicken nuggets, fish fingers, hot dogs, or sausages with hash browns or mashed potatoes, which would have been helpful for families with picky eaters. Adding these items could make a big difference. The pool area was lovely but very popular, so getting the best loungers required an early start. A huge plus was the free pool towels provided by the hotel, saving the need to bring your own. The hotel's location was fantastic—only a 15-minute walk to Cala d'Or's center, where there were excellent restaurants, souvenir shops, clothing stores, and plenty to explore. Families with young kids would love the charming road train that ran between Cala Ferrera and Porto Cala d'Or, making it easy and fun to get around. Overall, it’s a stunning hotel with an amazing staff—always friendly, welcoming, and hardworking. We had a wonderful family holiday here and will certainly return year after year.
