Xing'an Temple is a beautiful Guandi temple in South Cheras Area The temple is not big, but you can visit the large, golden statue of Guan Gong outside and the Five Tiger Generals behind it. The statue of the deity Guan Di is said to be the tallest statue (of Guan Di) in Selangor Guandi, is a Chinese god of war is a natural favourite of soldiers but has been chosen patron of numerous trades and professions. This is because Guan Yu, the mortal who became Guandi after death, is said by tradition to have been a peddler of bean curd early in life. Emperor Huizong of Song, a bumbling ruler but a devoted Taoist, was the first ruler to make Guan Yu a “deity” in the official Taoist canon. The founder of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) later gave him the higher title of “(heavenly) emperor.” Xing’an is definitely beautifully and colourfully litted up at night and worth a visit if you are in the area!! Was quite worth it considering the price, but a lot of stuff was old and yellowish, some even not working or still had the old ibis hotel logo still on it. And I couldn't call the reception, had to walked down to ask for toothbrush (which they did not provide or had any). Location was great as it's close to alot of restaurants. Parking was free too if you park outside. In door parking has charges but not sure how much… but saw previous review it says rm3 per entry…. so would suggest you to park outside for the day as you’ll go out for lunch and dinner, and when you’re back from dinner park inside as it’s safer with guards guarding it..

The cashier will assign you a seat according to your group size. Lunch time can be hot and busy, so I’d go outside the peak lunch rush if possible. The hotel is located in Cheras, slightly outside of Kuala Lumpur. However, the city center is easily accessible via the nearby S-Bahn station, which is within walking distance, or by taxi/Grab. The hotel is directly connected to a mall with numerous shops and restaurants. We stayed as a family in the Townhouse Xtra Suite, which is huge, very comfortable, and beautifully furnished. Everything was spotless, and we had a lovely view of the surroundings. Breakfast is offered in the hotel restaurant and features a selection of Asian dishes. The food was consistently tasty, though nothing stood out as exceptional. The hotel also has an outdoor pool that stays pleasantly shaded by late morning. While food and drinks are not served at the pool, it’s a great spot to cool off. To top it all off, the hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely love to come back.

The Graph Hotel in Kuala Lumpur Definitely a 10/10 hidden gem hotel!!! The photos speak for themselves. Well priced for the quality provided. Located in Cheras, within walking distance to the MRT station. There’s a large mall opposite the hotel too. There is an Anytime Fitness in the hotel which hotel guests have free access too. Also, a pickleball court is free for guests. Washing machines and dryers are available too. Pool table, communal fridge (no fridge in room, which is one of the only downsides of the hotel), cooking area and microwave available at Level 4. A small cafe is located on the 4th floor serving bagels and drinks which opens early at 7.30am. At the lobby level, there’s a vending machine selling essentials like drinks & cup noodles. There’s a TV, tables and chairs for working & a foosball table available too. The room itself is modern and clean. The toilet paper & towels provided are thick! The water pressure for the tap & shower is the strongest I have ever encountered in a long while. There were toothbrush, cotton buds & shower caps provided too. Coffee & tea and kettle with cups provided in the room as well. Room and toilet is very spacious too. There’s a water dispenser for hot & cold water in the hotel corridor. Aircon was cold enough and not noisy. Blackout curtains in the room were great. Room was also your soundproof. The bed was slightly hard & firm but I’m ok with that. Parking is 2RM per exit. Just validate parking by bringing T&G card to reception. Make sure to park in lots marked for hotel guests. The building also has a very delicious Chinese traditional dessert shop worth visiting! Southern Kopi in Taman Segar is another excellent local restaurant and modern kopitiam that’s perfect for meeting up with friends or simply enjoying a relaxing meal. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm, cozy atmosphere with comfortable lighting that makes the space feel incredibly welcoming and homely. The restaurant is thoughtfully designed, striking a great balance between comfort and functionality. Despite being quite spacious, the layout is well optimized, allowing diners to enjoy their meals without feeling crowded. My friend Cliff and I were seated by the window, which made for a very pleasant dining experience. One thing I really appreciated was how peaceful the environment was. It wasn’t noisy at all, making it an ideal place for long conversations over good food and coffee. Ordering is done conveniently through a QR code at each table. The system is simple, fast, and efficient, and our food arrived surprisingly quickly. The food exceeded my expectations. My favourite dish was definitely the Curry Chee Cheong Fun. The silky smooth rice noodles were coated in a rich, fragrant curry sauce that was packed with flavour without being overly heavy. It was comforting, satisfying, and something I’d happily order again. We also tried the dry wonton noodles, which were equally impressive. The noodles had a wonderful texture, the wontons were delicious, and the accompanying soup was incredibly flavourful, making the meal even more enjoyable. For drinks, I ordered the French Press Hot Kopi O. While the name sounds rather fancy, it’s essentially a well-brewed traditional Kopi O prepared using a French press. The result was a rich, aromatic cup of coffee that I thoroughly enjoyed. My friend ordered the iced coffee, and he was equally impressed with his drink. Overall, Southern Kopi delivered a wonderful dining experience with delicious food, quality coffee, efficient service, and a cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet meal. I’ll definitely be returning to try their Nasi Lemak and many of the other dishes on the menu, as everything we saw being served to other tables looked incredibly tempting. Finally crossed pottery making off my bucket list, and it was even more fun than I imagined! 🤍✨ I was honestly a little nervous before going, thinking I'd completely mess it up—but it turned out to be super beginner-friendly. The instructor was incredibly patient and friendly, guiding us through every step of the wheel-throwing process, so even if you've never touched clay before, you'll be just fine. 🙌 The whole experience (wheel throwing + hand-building + painting) took around 4 hours, and watching a lump of clay slowly transform into something I created with my own hands was such a rewarding feeling. 🍶💛 What made this experience even more special was learning the story behind the studio. The owner shared that all of the studio's profits are donated to support people with visual impairments. They also provide pottery training to visually impaired individuals, helping them develop valuable skills and create more employment opportunities.
