During my recent weekend trip, I stayed at Kommune Living & Wellness, Cheras, and it turned out to be one of the best budget-friendly hotels I've booked in KL. Xing'an Temple is a beautiful Guandi temple in South Cheras Area The temple is not big, but you can visit the large, golden statue of Guan Gong outside and the Five Tiger Generals behind it. The statue of the deity Guan Di is said to be the tallest statue (of Guan Di) in Selangor Guandi, is a Chinese god of war is a natural favourite of soldiers but has been chosen patron of numerous trades and professions. This is because Guan Yu, the mortal who became Guandi after death, is said by tradition to have been a peddler of bean curd early in life. Emperor Huizong of Song, a bumbling ruler but a devoted Taoist, was the first ruler to make Guan Yu a “deity” in the official Taoist canon. The founder of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) later gave him the higher title of “(heavenly) emperor.” Xing’an is definitely beautifully and colourfully litted up at night and worth a visit if you are in the area!! Was quite worth it considering the price, but a lot of stuff was old and yellowish, some even not working or still had the old ibis hotel logo still on it. And I couldn't call the reception, had to walked down to ask for toothbrush (which they did not provide or had any). Location was great as it's close to alot of restaurants. Parking was free too if you park outside. In door parking has charges but not sure how much… but saw previous review it says rm3 per entry…. so would suggest you to park outside for the day as you’ll go out for lunch and dinner, and when you’re back from dinner park inside as it’s safer with guards guarding it..

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm, cozy atmosphere with comfortable lighting that makes the space feel incredibly welcoming and homely. The restaurant is thoughtfully designed, striking a great balance between comfort and functionality. Despite being quite spacious, the layout is well optimized, allowing diners to enjoy their meals without feeling crowded. My friend Cliff and I were seated by the window, which made for a very pleasant dining experience. One thing I really appreciated was how peaceful the environment was. It wasn’t noisy at all, making it an ideal place for long conversations over good food and coffee. Ordering is done conveniently through a QR code at each table. The system is simple, fast, and efficient, and our food arrived surprisingly quickly. The food exceeded my expectations. My favourite dish was definitely the Curry Chee Cheong Fun. The silky smooth rice noodles were coated in a rich, fragrant curry sauce that was packed with flavour without being overly heavy. It was comforting, satisfying, and something I’d happily order again. We also tried the dry wonton noodles, which were equally impressive. The noodles had a wonderful texture, the wontons were delicious, and the accompanying soup was incredibly flavourful, making the meal even more enjoyable. For drinks, I ordered the French Press Hot Kopi O. While the name sounds rather fancy, it’s essentially a well-brewed traditional Kopi O prepared using a French press. The result was a rich, aromatic cup of coffee that I thoroughly enjoyed. My friend ordered the iced coffee, and he was equally impressed with his drink. Overall, Southern Kopi delivered a wonderful dining experience with delicious food, quality coffee, efficient service, and a cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet meal. Recently discovered a dim sum restaurant near the subway station. This dim sum restaurant is located near the pedestrian bridge at Cheras Leisure Mall. It's a dim sum restaurant with a nostalgic vibe. Every corner is perfect for photos, especially the round table in the middle of the second floor. The midday sun shining down from the skylight creates such a great atmosphere. This dim sum restaurant isn't just great for photos; their dim sum is also quite good. We ordered 9 dim sum dishes that day.
