We chose to stay at Scandina Hotel that is up in the mountain, so it means we needed to carry our bags until we reach the hotel that is 5min walking from the bus station. We left our big luggage in Chengdu and only brought skowboard clothes, boots and helmet with us to Xiling, I reccomend you travel light if you also choose to stay in the hotel up in the mountain. Speaking about Scandina Hotel, it is the best considering it’s location, specially if you like to wake up early and go snowboard/ski on the first time in the morning, because you save the time of queuing and taking the cable car from the bottom of the mountain. But the staff is not really helpful and not prepared to receive foreign guests. Also meals are not great, there is only chinese food and quality is not good, but you don’t really have many choices around. Speaking about the Ski Resort, me and my husband already snowboard and we had our equipments, but you can rent all there! There are lots of kids and families that actually go to plan in the base and not go up to the mountain and do sports. There are not many Medium/Advanced trails and they are very short, in the end we spent more time in the lift than actually enjoying snowboarding.
