2025 Dong-gu Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in June)

It took about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do. We met Suncheondaek in the middle. You can feel the local restaurant atmosphere from the exterior, but if you eavesdrop on the conversations of the customers, you can see that it is made up of about half locals and half tourists. The restrooms are separated into individual containers and are somewhat poor. You have to order the menu according to the number of people. We wanted to eat small shrimp soup with buckwheat pancakes! But we couldn't taste the buckwheat pancakes because we had to eat large shrimp soup. However, we didn't have any major complaints. Three people ordered large shrimp soup with 3 free rice bowls! The long-awaited shrimp soup appeared. This is the only restaurant and menu I chose during my trip to Daejeon, aside from my lodging. This is my first time eating freshwater shrimp, but you can't say shrimp isn't delicious, right?! I won't tarnish the reputation of shrimp, right?!👀 When I took my first sip, I thought it was bland, but as I kept eating, the seasoning was just right. (You know what I mean!) It was only a one-night, two-day trip, but what I felt while visiting restaurants in Daejeon was that the seasoning was generally weak. If you like spicy food, it might be bland, so please boil it for a little longer. Hehe.

If you want to heal with your dog, I highly recommend this place!

#New York Flight Ticket Event Address: 133-2 Haso-dong, Dong-gu, Daejeon This is Sannae Doljjajang, where I went to eat Doljjajang in Dong-gu, Daejeon. I was worried that there would be a wait because it is a famous place, but luckily I was able to sit down right away. I ordered the most famous menu, Doljjajang, and it is served on a sizzling plate so you can eat it hot all the way through. They say it is the first Korean Jjajangmyeon in Korea, so try it if you travel to Daejeon~

#New York Flight Ticket Event Address: 11 Daejeon-ro 825beon-gil, Dong-gu, Daejeon I visited the main branch of Shindo Kalguksu located on Daejeon-ro, Dong-gu, Daejeon. This is a really old store that has been in operation since 1961. The broth is made with Korean beef bone, so it has a really deep flavor, and it's a place where you can eat your fill at a low price, so I recommend it :)

#NewYorkFlightEvent Address: 6, Seonhwa-ro 196beon-gil, Dong-gu, Daejeon I visited the bibimbap restaurant Wanggwan Restaurant in Seonhwa-ro, Dong-gu, Daejeon. It's closed every Sunday, so please visit with that in mind. It's really delicious when you eat it with raw beef and bean sprout rice, so be sure to try it ㅎㅎ
