🍖 Rou Rou Da Mi (Grilled Meat Rice) – A juicy hamburger restaurant
Meat lovers, don't miss out! Today I stopped by to try 肉肉大米 (Rou Rou Da Mi) at the Jing'an Temple branch of the mall. This Japanese-style hamburger restaurant is famous for its juicy, chewy meat. 🥩🔥
🐮 Atmosphere of the restaurant
This branch is located in a mall, decorated in a simple style. It emphasizes a counter bar where you can sit and watch the chef grill fresh hamburgers. 🏮🍽️ The smell of the meat wafts in from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is suitable for people who come alone or as a couple. 🏙️ It's perfect for people who plan to visit the temple and are looking for food or a restaurant to eat at, because this restaurant is right next to the mall, very close to the temple.
🥩 The menu I tried
✨ 2-piece beef hamburger + cheese 🧀 - The meat is very soft and juicy. It's even better when eaten with melted cheese! 🤤🔥
✨ 3-piece beef hamburger 🍖 - For those who are really hungry! Firm meat, bite into the bouncy and juicy meat 😍
✨ Rice, soup and broccoli 🥦 – Unlimited refills! Beautiful Japanese rice grains, delicious soup, great when eaten together 🍚
💰 Price
The starting price of the hamburger set is 68 yuan. If you add cheese or choose 3 pieces, the price will increase a little. Very worthwhile for this quality of meat!
🚆 How to get there
📍 Jing'an Temple shopping mall branch
🚇 Take subway line 2 or 7 and get off at Jing'an Temple station and walk a short distance. 🏙️
📌 Summary
Anyone who loves hamburger must come and try it! The meat is good, juicy, soft, and extremely delicious. Eating it with cheese is the best. 🧀🔥 Plus, you can refill rice and soup as much as you want. Very worthwhile 💯 📸 If you've tried it, don't forget to share your photos! 📍✨

There are several reasons why someone might want to visit Jing'an Temple in Shanghai:
1. Religious and Cultural Significance: Jing'an Temple is a significant Buddhist temple with a history of over 1,700 years. It is considered one of the most important temples in Shanghai and is therefore a popular destination for those interested in Buddhism and Chinese culture.
2. Architecture and Art: The temple's buildings and statues are impressive works of art and architecture. The main hall, in particular, is adorned with intricate carvings and houses three enormous Buddha statues. Visitors can appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of these structures and gain insight into traditional Chinese art and architecture.
3. Peaceful Atmosphere: Despite its location in a bustling commercial district, Jing'an Temple offers a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The temple's grounds and surrounding park provide a quiet respite from the noise and crowds of the city, making it an ideal place for meditation and contemplation.

🏡B1, sunken courtyard, Lane 9, Qufu Road, Jing'an District
Cc Foundation & Art Center and MadeIn are two connected galleries that moved to the same place by coincidence and have both held solo exhibitions for Shang Liang.
Shang Liang continued her "Good Hunter", "Boxing Man" and "Sofa Man" series to form "New Man". The muscle man in the new work is more exaggerated than before, with the addition of leather, suits, metal and other elements. These elements are not like external clothing or equipment, but more like skin or shell that grows and evolves from the character's body. This shows that she was influenced by people like Otomo Katsuhiro and Ito Junji, and it also reveals the people or things in reality that need to be confronted.

Yaya the Chinese Pasta Bar
Ever wanted to try a Chinese Italian fusion cuisine? Check out Yaya if you are in Shanghai!
Yaya means "tooth" 🦷 in Chinese, and the idea probably is to serve the pasta 🍝 "al dente".
The pasta was perfectly done and freshly made and dishes were topped with Chinese flavors. Pasta are served with chopsticks 🥢 and they have good quality wine 🍷and cocktails 🍹 on the menu.
Really loved the concept and the twist! The environment is casual, young, cozy and organic. ☀️ You can sit at the bar around the chefs 🧑🍳 preparing the dishes, but there are also seating areas across the room and an outdoor area. On top of it the music selection was great! 🎶

Christmas in Jing'an District 🎅
The temperature is only 2 degrees 🌡, the sky is clear and the air is fresh 🌞, just right to experience the winter in Shanghai❄.
I went to Jing'an District on Sunday. Although I didn't go to Jing'an Temple to cleanse my soul, I could forget the worries of life by walking through the streets.

Jing’an Park Adventure
What is an attraction that’s right across the street from Jing’an temple? Well it’s Jing’an park! A great place to stroll and people watch in the heart of Shanghai.
🎹 From time to time people set up big events in the park such as Jing’an Jazz festival where people are allowed to sit, drink and be merry on the grass (typically people are not allowed on the lawn) And when there is not an event happening old pensioners conglomerate into small groups to sing dance and practise martial arts.
🧑🍳 The park also has a little lake with a great Thai restaurant to try out and a little hill with great views of Shanghai to check out. It is a little hidden and a lot of people don’t know about it but it’s there.
All in all I would definitely recommend this park for a great activity to do under an hour. Especially during the summer time where the lake mists up. See you there 😀

Jing’an Temple Night Lights
Most people that live in Shanghai will know about Jing’an Temple and many will see it as they stroll by and wonder how magnificent this temple looks during the night.
The temple is a recreation of the old Jing’an Temple, but arguably this one is much nicer and is a real attraction during the day as a tourist hotspot but also in the evening time when it’s all dazzled up.
Popular land marks are close by such as the park right across the street and the Ikea which is to the left of it. It’s fascinating how although all the buildings around it serve a different purpose and is an eclectic mix of different vibes, downtown Jing’an works and it’s always very nice to stroll by.
I would definitely recommend to pay the entrance fee to wander inside and dedicate some time to book a restaurant close by to see it at night.
All in all, definitely would recommend to a friend, and a good way to learn about the history and pay your respects to the temple 😊😊

Roof Top Delight -Jing’an
So we all know that Jing’an is getting pretty fancy and there are a vast amount of wealth in the area. So it goes without saying that one would stumble upon some rooftop gardens and cafes!
🤫This roof top is above Plaza 66. It is almost hidden from the street view and is very hard to find. You must find the special elevator and go to the 5th floor on the terrace to find this place. So when you find it try to keep it a secret.
🍛A few people come up here for lunch and events are planned throughout the year. You can also book your own private event by calling up the building management.
🤩This is a great place to casually stumble upon while taking your significant other out for some shopping. Or to impress out-of-towners.
🪴All in all, when I first found this place, I was shocked and amazing at its beautiful garden and how I’ve never heard of it before. I would definitely recommend it to a friend and it’s definitely a place worth visiting for its view and the location. 😁

Donghu Lu
There are many brunch spots in Shanghai and a lot of places where expats and locals alike mingle. But Donghu Lu for the past couple of years has been a favourite.
With a park in the middle and a plethora of European and American Cafes opening up it really has become an international street.
I would highly recommend paying it a visit. One can find an Italian Lounge bar next to an American pancake place next to a Chinese American diner!Today I went to the French Bistro Two doors down from funkadeli and had some typical European style muscles and clams.
The crepes were great and the atmosphere was very relaxing. with French music playing in the background. Donghu Lu is a great place to spend a sunny weekend strolling around and do some people watching as the people around here are extremely progressive with their fashion choice.
All in all. a good mix of expats and locals. great brunch spots and great options of bars if brunch turns into a drinking session. 😀

If you happen to be in downtown Shanghai close to Jing’an and even closer to the Shanghai Center make sure to check out this great price of Shanghainese history. This ancient building survived the craziness of the 20th century and is well preserved in the shadows of the newly build office buildings and sky scrapers.
The architectural style is very different from the surrounding buildings but it gives it a certain dominance in the space.
This used to be the house of a very prominent Shanghainese family and right next to it is an old Church.
Make sure to scan the QR code when you get there for more information about the history of this place.
All in all I would recommend this place if you are passing by. sometimes the gates are closed so definitely don’t spend too much time planning a visit. 😀

Jing’an Luxury
The true Center of Shanghai. Jing’an has a lot to offer with its modern high rises. Busy executives and business people brunching in its cafes and beautiful flower arrangements outlining the streets.
🌷I would definitely recommend coming to this part of town to check out some great brunch options and fantastic gardens.
💍 K would also definitely recommend the shopping. it is definitely on the more expensive end of the market with all (and I literally mean all) the luxury brands out there. LV, Gucci, Rolex, and Burberry to name a few.
All in all, it you are looking for a nice stroll in a fancy neighbourhood definitly check out Tong ren lu at Jing’an. 😀

Donkey meat biscuits
It's very famous, but tastes pretty good. Donkey meat refers to the meat of a donkey. Due to its high content of unsaturated fatty acids, especially the primary biological value of linoleic acid and linolenic acid, the content of which is much higher than that of pork and beef, it is praised as "dragon meat in the sky and donkey meat on the earth". Donkey meat is edible and is considered to be as delicious as dragon meat. The famous "Donkey Meat Hot Bread" in Baoding, Hebei is made by sandwiching cooked donkey meat in baked bread.
Nutritional value and eating methods of donkey meat:
High protein, low fat: Donkey meat is a typical low-fat, high-protein food. The protein content of 100 grams of donkey meat is as high as 18.6 grams, which is much higher than pork, beef and mutton.
Rich in trace elements: Donkey meat also contains relatively high levels of calcium, phosphorus and iron.
Nourishing effect: Donkey meat has the effects of nourishing blood, replenishing qi, and replenishing deficiency.
Preparation method: Donkey meat can be used for cooking, such as "donkey meat fire" or "donkey intestines".
Baoding Donkey Meat Hot Roasted Bread: Baoding Donkey Meat Hot Roasted Bread is famous for its unique taste and preparation method. It is carefully made, and the donkey meat is fat but not greasy, and lean but not dry.
The cultural status of donkey meat:
"Dragon meat in the sky, donkey meat on the ground":
This idiom reveals the important position of donkey meat in traditional Chinese culture.
Donkey hide gelatin:
Donkey skin is the main raw material of the traditional Chinese medicine donkey-hide gelatin, which has the effects of replenishing blood, stopping bleeding, nourishing yin and moistening dryness.
The fame of donkey meat huoshao:
"Donkey meat hotpot" is a famous snack in Baoding, Hebei, and is loved by local residents and tourists.
The deliciousness of donkey sausage:
Donkey intestines are also a famous dish. Han Zhen of the Northern Song Dynasty loved to eat donkey intestines and insisted on slaughtering and cooking them on the spot.

Strolling through Jing’an in Shanghai, the streets come alive with a beautiful blend of vibrant lights and the refreshing scent of springtime flowers. The soft glow from street lamps dances across the cobblestone roads, illuminating the city’s unique mix of modern architecture and historic charm. The delicate blossoms add a touch of nature’s grace, creating a peaceful yet dynamic atmosphere that perfectly captures the essence of Shanghai in spring.

Unforgettable Delicious Shanghai Trip
It was my first time of spending short holidays from April 18 to 22 in Shanghai solely for great and famous Shanghai food following some Youtubers’ paths. I have stayed at St Regis, Shenghen for couple times for short holidays because it is quite close to Hong Kong at where I live. I travel in Asia Pacific countries very frequently and enjoyed in upscale hotels or resorts for great food, services and facilities with my wife. As such, we chose St Regis Shanghai at Jingan because of her world-known hotel brand.
Very appreciated to Chief Butler, Tina for her excellent and professional service and was always capable of helping customers with positive attitudes and making us like returning to familiar place. Definitely, so thankful to her nice personality and mind of satisfying customers from all levels of degree. She could share with us the great restaurants of remarkable Shanghai food. Tina的專業週到,令我們享受到了一次難忘的上海之旅.
Overall, I believe that St Regis would continue and maintain such high level of unique hotel services every city in China where I would like to stay for holidays. Thank you.

Touch the "time memory" of the time-honored brand in the old house
Shanghai will have another great place for "checking in" - #Huashan·263 Time-honored Brand Museum will be officially open to the public free of charge. This is the first public cultural space in Shanghai with the comprehensive display of time-honored brand culture as its core.
Dasheng Hutong, located at No. 229-285 Huashan Road, is a famous large-scale lilong residential complex and one of the few lilong residential areas called "hutong" that have been preserved in Shanghai to this day. Diamond House, a classical British garden house, is located at No. 263 Huashan Road in Dasheng Hutong and later became the office of Bright Food Group.
With the concept of making every effort to promote Shanghai's "four major brands" and create a high-quality life, the Huashan 263 Time-honored Brand Pavilion, organized by the Municipal Commerce Commission and built and operated by Bright Food Group, is now located here. The museum brings together 222 time-honored brands in Shanghai, and selects more than 100 high-quality time-honored brands for thematic, scene-based, interactive and immersive displays, presenting the brand culture of the time-honored brands in all aspects.

The best vegetarian (arguably chinese meal) i've ever been to
Hands down the best vegetarian restaurant I’ve ever been to—and arguably the best Chinese meal I’ve had, period. This spot, Xiang Chun Gu Shi (Jing’an branch), absolutely blew us away with how they bring out the natural flavors of the vegetables in the most delicate, detailed way.
One standout: corn with barley & beans, where each corn skin is peeled (!) and paired with barley & beans for a texture and taste I’ve never experienced before.
This was easily the best meal of our entire trip, and 100% worth a spot on your Shanghai food list.

#April Good Places 2025
The restaurant looks like it’s hidden in an old Paris apartment.
Soft lights and piles of wine bottles.
The atmosphere is classic and romantic.
Focusing on fusion dishes,
It really did the color and flavor,
Best to have another glass of wine.
The whole dining experience was very good.
Enjoy the happiness that food brings.
And you can immerse yourself in the romantic atmosphere.

Doraemon exhibition at the Kerry Centre. Huge queues, which mean we couldn’t make it inside. However, lots of fun to be seen spilling out onto the surrounding streets and area, adding a nice touch and ambiance. Good fun for old and young, go catch it while you can.

No.1 noodle restaurant in Jing'an District, Shanghai
#Mainland Travel
I didn't plan my trip to Shanghai this time.
So I opened Gaode Address to find nearby restaurants
I found this place. It is the first noodle restaurant for locals in Jing'an District.
His shop is most famous for its noodles with clams and pork liver.
But unfortunately I don't eat pig liver, so I chose spicy meat noodles
It is also recommended online that you must choose mixed noodles
His noodles are mixed with scallion oil, very fragrant and very appetizing overall.
I also saw many people order fried pork chops. You can try it if you have a chance.

🇨🇳:Shanghai - A relaxing space that combines cinema and cafe! 🎥
A cafe where you can watch movies too! ? A mysterious fusion experience of video and coffee✴️
"POLLY Coffee" in Jing'an District is a hidden space that has attracted attention for its unique style of movie x cafe.
A large projector is installed in the store, and if the timing is right, stylish short films and video works will be played🍿🎬📽
The calm interior with the warmth of wood is a space that makes you want to "stay for a long time". Drinks are abundant, from hand drip to spiced lattes, and all are carefully made.
Equipped with power outlets and Wi-Fi, it is perfect for computer work and reading. It is also close to Jing'an Temple and Nanjing West Road, making it perfect for a break between sightseeing.

This teahouse in Shanghai is seriously photogenic. Everyone looks amazing here.
I found a hidden gem of a Chinese teahouse✨. Qi Cha Qu, tucked away in the Jing'an district, is absolutely stunning! The common area is huge, and the decor feels like stepping into an ancient painting🌿. Every corner is a perfect photo op📸. I recommend wearing a modern Chinese-style dress for your photos!
The tatami private rooms offer complete privacy💯, but you absolutely must go early in the day to snag one!! The sunlight filtering through the bamboo blinds is incredibly soft and gentle☀️. Even someone who's not good at taking photos can capture the amazing atmosphere💃.
This is the perfect spot for afternoon tea with your besties👭. The tea and pastries are delicate and refreshing🍰. The experience is even better on a working day afternoon when it's less crowded! Remember to book a window seat in advance~

Experiencing McDonald's in China
#favouriteitinerary
Whenever I travel abroad, I always like to try McDonald's menu items that aren’t available in my home country.
In Malaysia, McDonald's is Halal-certified, so there is no pork in their products.
Before heading to Shanghai Disneyland, my friend and I went to a McDonald's near Jing'an Temple which also near our hotel for breakfast. We ordered a set of meal included Scrambled Egg Sausage Burger ,hash brown and a hot cocoa.

Shanghai | Tasty Chinese restaurant in Jingan of Shanghai
A few days ago, I went for a meal with friends at 1788 Food Plaza. This restaurant looks very traditional from the outside, and the interior decoration style is simply breathtaking.
The environment is extremely elegant and perfect for both group gatherings and casual dining.
Wenzhou fish cake is soft and sticky, with a rich and fresh taste.
The house-made double fresh dish has super tender fish and the rice cakes absorb the fresh seafood flavors perfectly. I absolutely love it!
The beef is stewed until very tender, and when paired with white radish, the two flavors balance each other very well.
The squab has a crispy surface, and the meat isn't too dry. The portion is just right.
