Leaving the spa town of Podebrady, despite the summer heat felt outdoors, it doesn't stop my curiosity and exploration of this city... Entering the Mineral Museum in the Dvur Kralove nad Labem region, the two-story building houses countless native minerals and gem collections that the owner has been gathering from around the world since the age of ten. If visiting with children, you can also experience the joy and beauty of panning for gold and stones just like I did 😊 (but remember there's an extra charge) After such an interesting time, why not try your hand at making traditional glass ornaments in Miletin, just like the locals... How about it, isn't my creation pretty good👍 But time flies, and it's already time for afternoon tea. Let me quickly recommend Horicke (rolls) – a pastry shop with hundreds of years of history. The super nice owner couple introduced the shop's history and baking process throughout, and I even made two myself. (I'll post a video in a few days, they were very tasty) A day full of fun and fulfillment, but don't forget to check into the Clarion hotel Zlatý lev before evening. This luxury city hotel retains early last century or even earlier decor, furnishings, and traditional architecture. But if you're looking for a destination with beautiful architecture, mountain scenery, and far fewer tourists, Liberec is a city that shouldn't be overlooked. What immediately stood out to me was the mix of elegant historic buildings and the dramatic Jizera Mountains rising in the background. The city center is compact and easy to explore on foot, with colorful facades, lively squares, and cozy cafés creating a relaxed atmosphere. It feels authentic, giving you the chance to enjoy Czech culture without the crowds found in the country's better-known destinations. One of Liberec's highlights is Ještěd Mountain, crowned by one of Europe's most recognizable buildings. Whether you drive, hike, or take the cable car, the panoramic views from the top are absolutely worth the effort. On a clear day, you can see far across northern Bohemia and even into neighboring Germany and Poland. Back in the city, don't miss the magnificent Neo-Renaissance Town Hall, which looks like something straight out of a fairy tale. I recommend spending at least a full day here, combining the historic center with Ještěd. It's an easy trip from Prague but feels completely different, offering a perfect blend of nature, history, and modern Czech life. 📍Ještěd A mountain (1,012 m) and a futuristic TV tower in the Czech Republic. There are 3 ways to reach the top: 1 - You can drive almost all the way up; from the parking lot, it's only about an 850m walk. 2 - Leave your car at the foot of the mountain and hike up—with an elevation gain of around 440m, it's an excellent hike with stunning views. 3 - Take the cable car slightly off to the side and walk about 2 km with a gentle ascent. At the top, there is a restaurant and a bistro, rest areas, a hotel right inside the tower, and an unusual sculpture (come and judge its uniqueness for yourself 😉). Beautiful panoramas, nature, the breeze, the sound of birds singing—in short, the perfect escape from the city when you need a recharge 🌿💛
