There was a short line when I went, and I waited about 20 minutes to buy it 😊 The freshly baked socca had such an unforgettable, savory aroma. It's a dish made with chickpea flour, but when I actually ate it, rather than a strong bean flavor, it had a natural onion-like sweetness, a savory roastiness, a chewy texture, and just the right amount of saltiness 🥙 It was simply delicious yet incredibly addictive—a local Nice treat that was totally worth the wait 🇫🇷✨ ⸻ 🫒 Searching for Authentic Southern French Souvenirs There were so many cute souvenir shops in the Old Town 😊 One place I stopped by was the historic olive oil specialty shop, Nicolas Alziari ✨ Lined with olive oil and other olive products typical of the South of France, it was the perfect place for souvenir hunting 🫒 Besides that, 🍋 Sweets made with lemons and citrus 🍋 Lemonade syrup 🍄 Gourmet ingredients like truffle paste There were many products rarely seen in Japan, so just looking at them was a lot of fun 😊 ⸻ 🍫 Head to PATISSERIE LAC for Sweets During my walk, I also discovered chocolate and pastry shops 🍫 PATISSERIE LAC - Nice Vieille Ville had a lineup of adorable sweets, making it highly recommended for souvenir shopping or a quick break ✨ ⸻ 👗 Highly Recommended for Thrift Lovers! The vongole pasta was especially memorable ✨ The seasoning was simple, making it a dish where you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. The rich umami of the clams came through perfectly, and the clams themselves were absolutely delicious. It quickly became one of my favorite meals from the entire trip 😊 The cheese on the salad was also fantastic, and the whole meal really showcased high-quality ingredients. [Cry] The promised sandy beach turned out to be a rocky beach! 🌚 So uncomfortable it made me question life. Without water shoes, you can’t gracefully step into the water. 2. [Sweat] The restaurants are pricey! Sea view restaurants are outrageously expensive, but the food is just average. 3. [Surprising] Thieves and homeless people do exist. It feels a bit uneasy near the train station at night. But! When the deep blue of Castle Hill hits your eyes, when the ocher walls of the old town alleys are dyed honey-colored by the sunset—the earlier complaints are unconditionally forgiven by the sunshine ☀️. · -- 🎨 Day 1: The original internet-famous spot—the clash of ocher and azure Morning: Get lost in the old town & find food at the market Dive into the narrow alleys of Vieux Nice, like a spilled palette with bright yellow, ocher red, and coral pink houses squeezed together. Head straight to Cours Saleya market, open Tuesday to Sunday mornings. Breakfast plan: Spend €3 on a freshly baked socca (chickpea pancake), crispy and fragrant! Grab a Pan Bagnat (Nice sandwich) for a picnic. Noon: Castle Hill hike & bird’s-eye view Navigate to the Castle Hill elevator (Ascenseur du Château), a lazy person’s blessing that takes you straight to the top 🛗.
