There’s no entrance fee, just beautiful nature all around. The hike is moderately challenging but worth every step. You pass several stunning waterfalls along the way, each surrounded by vibrant fall colors and the sound of rushing water. I spent a few hours on the trail, taking in the fresh mountain air and stopping at each viewpoint to admire the landscape. After the hike, I visited the nearby town of Starý Smokovec, where I grabbed a hot drink and warmed up. Due to unstable weather, we finally waited for a sunny day to go up the mountain, but the third section of the cable car in Lomnicky stit has limited seats, with only 15 people in one car every 20 minutes. Seeing that there were only slots after 5 pm online, we decided to go to the cable car station early to ask for tickets. Take the mountain railway to Tatranska Lomnica (about 25 minutes, €1). When we arrived at the cable car station, the weather was very good. Lomnicky stit had a clear sky. Fortunately, we bought the third section of the cable car at 1 pm. The total price of the three sections of the cable car was €89, which was very expensive, but the travelers we met along the way praised the scenery on the mountain, which made us look forward to it. After buying the cable car ticket, we immediately took the first and second sections of the cable car to go up the mountain. The first two sections of the cable car are multi-carriage type that rotates continuously up the mountain and can be taken at any time. The second section of the cable car arrives at Skalnaté pleso rock lake (1768 meters above sea level) There are many trails on the mountain. There are still 3 hours before taking the third cable car. After circling the lake, we found a nearby trail to hike. We can overlook the surrounding peaks and the large plains below the mountain. The scenery is beautiful, but the uphill road is all rugged and uneven. After walking around for a while, we returned to the cable car station The third cable car went up the mountain and finally reached the observation deck of Lomnicky stit (2634 meters above sea level), the second highest peak in Slovakia. The wind on the top of the mountain was very strong, but the view of the Tatra Mountains was really beautiful The time limit for the observation deck on the top of the mountain was 50 minutes. The passengers were squeezed into the small car again to go down the mountain and return to Skalnaté pleso chose a flatter trail to hike, still a gravel road, in the same direction as in the morning but a slower route. Slovakia's attractions are definitely not inferior to those of famous tourist countries. The city of Bratislava has the atmosphere of a small European town. Day 1: Arrival in Poprad and Hike to Teryho Chata Arrive in Poprad, a charming town at the foot of the Tatra Mountains, and take a bus or taxi to the Strbske Pleso area, a popular base for Tatra hikers. Start your hike towards Teryho Chata, a mountain hut situated at an altitude of 2,010 meters. You can also choose to take a guided tour of the summit if you're not confident in your climbing skills. After taking in the views, descend back to Skalnate Pleso and return to Tatranska Lomnica for the night. #mountainhike Hiking to Bystrá Lávka in the High Tatras was an unforgettable adventure. The trail began at Štrbské Pleso, a serene alpine lake surrounded by towering peaks. From there, we followed a marked path leading us through a lush forest and onwards to the breathtaking Skok Waterfall. The sound of rushing water and the cool mist provided a refreshing break before tackling the more challenging ascent. The climb to Bystrá Lávka was steep and rocky in parts, but the reward was worth it. Standing at the top, we were treated to stunning panoramic views of rugged peaks and crystal-clear lakes far below. The sense of accomplishment made the effort feel insignificant. For travelers, sturdy hiking boots are a must, as the terrain can be slippery. Carry enough water and snacks, and start early to enjoy the hike without rushing. The High Tatras are well-marked and generally safe, but the weather can change quickly, so pack a lightweight rain jacket. This trek wasn’t just about the destination—it was about embracing the journey through Slovakia’s pristine mountain wilderness.

Beautiful mountains on south part of Poland. There is also the highest summit in Poland called Rysy. Nice and good tracks with different level of experience in mountain trekking or even climbing. That was good time and hope that not last.

#myhiddengems Although i had been to Slovakia twice in the past. I never really alloted it a lot of time. This time around my shorter trip largely focused on Slovakia. There were things I had heard about places but the logistics and time never allowed. But not this time. So, the tatras mountains spa across Slovakia and Poland. The hike has several options and since mine was planned I ensured I came when most number of trails were open. This was almost end of September. Clearly from the number of hikers I saw around. It is safe to say that the popularity of tatras has steadily grown over the years. Same could be said about Slovakia. Yet, it won't be as crowded as other popular hiking destinations in europe. Since I hadn't heard about very favourable feedback for doing this from Poland. I decided to stick with Slovakia. This being the less crowded and less touristy part of tatras. Things take longer and figuring out. You have several options among small towns to pick as your base. It's definitely the more serene and peaceful options. Less tourists around and so easy come and go with the cable car. With these cable cars a great deal of climbing is saved. Even for people new at this, it is quite doable. Lomnický štít is one of the highest and most visited mountain peaks in the High Tatras mountains of Slovakia. Using cable car to Tatranská Lomnica, its summit is 2,634 metres above sea level, making it the second highest peak in the High Tatras after Gerlachovský štít. I visited this place in 2022 in March where you can see there was snow still on the mountains. The views were beautiful, and the photos don’t do them justice.
