Akipu is one of the newest view point founded in Chiangmai. It was almost 3 hours drive from Chiangmai city center, but worth every minute. It was privately owned view point so we stayed a night at Akipu Homestay first. Then the next morning the owner drove us to the view point. I have never seen such beautiful sunrise like this before. The sun was rising in the back to Doi Luang Chiangdao making it so unreal. While watching the sunrise, the owner drip us coffees, great coffee by the way.

Baan Lao Wu is 130 km. from Chiang Mai city. It takes about 2 and a half hours to drive. It seems close, but it is quite far. To reach this hidden beauty, we have to go through many curves, both steep and winding roads. The homestay also arranged a 4WD car to take us up to see the sunset. When we arrived, it was a memorable image. The view of Doi Luang Chiang Dao was our goal for this trip. We wanted to see both the evening and morning light to our hearts' content : )
