The young lady visits Ireland every year, and this time her main destination was Saltee Island to see puffins. On the first afternoon, her flight arrived on time 🛬. After picking her up, we first headed to the Glendalough Monastery ruins and lake area in Wicklow Mountains National Park, also known as the Heart-Shaped Lake. The young lady took a short hike and captured many beautiful photos. Then we drove directly to Wexford, where she enjoyed dinner in the town before being taken to her hotel in Kilmore Quay to rest. The next morning, she woke up naturally and enjoyed a traditional Irish breakfast before walking to the pier for the island birdwatching tour. She had booked her boat tickets well in advance, and the weather was exceptionally good—sunny with little wind. After about 3 hours on the island (excluding the boat ride), she returned to the pier in the afternoon. After a short break, we continued to Hook Lighthouse, an ancient lighthouse with stunning coastal cliff views. Following dinner in Wexford, we returned to Dublin, happily concluding the trip. 🌹

This is purely an experience sharing. Although I work in the tourism industry, I am not opposed to it. Even if you drive yourself, I hope that my experience can help you. There are many attractions in Dublin city that normally take two days to complete. So I divide the suburbs of Dublin into the northern suburbs and the southern suburbs, each with one day. Today I will share a guide for a one-day tour of the southern suburbs. There are three stations in total. Stop 1: Powerscourt Estate - Built in 1300, it is ranked third among the top ten gardens in the world selected by National Geographic magazine. The gardens include the Italian Garden, the Japanese Garden, and the Walled Garden. In the 1720s, German architects rearranged the layout based on the original foundation and it was completed by 100 workers in 12 years. Experience: Normally, if you go to the garden from the center of Dublin, there are two routes, one is M50 and M11, and the other is R117. I personally recommend taking the small road R117 because you can see the Wicklow Mountains along the way. The beauty lies along the way. Stop 2: Glendalough Roundtower & Cathedral The round tower is the tallest building in Ireland, 33.5 meters high and inclined 0.45 meters. The whole canyon is shrouded in mist, and the tombstones make it very mysterious. I personally think it feels better here on cloudy days. The tower was built in the 7th century and completed in the 10th century. Experience: Climb the mountain on a sunny day so you can see the black lake. Stop 3: Bray Head Cliff Walk The third stop depends on the remaining time. If time is limited, you can watch the sea at Bray Head Cliff Walk. If you have enough time, you can take a Cliff Walk. I personally highly recommend this route. There are three routes to the top of the mountain. When you reach the top, you will really feel like you can see all the other mountains. The Dublin skyline is so low that you will find that most of Dublin is in sight. Experience: Try to wear non-slip shoes. It is easy to go up the mountain, but it may be slippery when going down the mountain after it rains. To find a ruin in Ireland, for fear of being more suitable than the sleek Glendalough. Glendalough means the canyon between the two lakes in Irish, which, as its name implies, is a secluded valley with two lakes. The granary and round tower of Glendalough Monastery, which is closer to Taniguchi than the lake, is full of quaint and subtle atmosphere, and this piece of treasure is covered with a mysterious veil. As we walked through a path of blue flowers and pine cones on the ground, a large ruined wall with a cemetery appeared in front of us. When the heyday, the monks here reached 3,000 people, and the Vikings harassed and looted over the years, but they failed to withstand the destruction of the British army of Henry VIII, the monastery of the 16th century. It was destroyed and abandoned. Only the remains of the four-walled cathedral are the largest remnants of existence. Going deep into the valley, the first lake to see first is not too big. The shore of the lake just meets a group of sheep who are grazing leisurely, so that this picture instantly becomes agile. The second lake, which went up for another ten minutes, was one of the locations of Mel Gibsons grand epic film Braveheart.
