Horse Meat at 'Suganoya' 🐴 When in Kumamoto, you can’t miss trying the local specialty—horse meat. I headed to the famous Suganoya Ginza Street branch. Initially, I was a bit nervous, but one bite erased all my worries. The tender texture, free of any unpleasant smell, melted in my mouth—it was even softer than beef tartare! 🥩 The plating was elegant, and I instantly understood why everyone seeks out horse meat when visiting Kumamoto. Truly a unique delicacy! 2. Second round: Cozy Izakaya with Grilled Skewers 🍢 After filling up on horse meat, I moved to a nearby izakaya to satisfy my lingering appetite. I ordered a set of grilled skewers with a refreshing beer, and the charcoal-grilled aroma made the skewers irresistibly delicious. 🍺 Ending the day in a lively local atmosphere was the perfect way to wrap up the night. 3. Nighttime relaxation with a view at 'Candeo Hotels Kumamoto Shinshigai' 🏨 For accommodation, I chose the well-located and highly-rated 'Candeo Hotels Kumamoto Shinshigai.' The deciding factor for me was the Sky Spa (large public bath)♨️. After indulging in delicious food, soaking in the warm water while enjoying the open view instantly relieved all my travel fatigue. The outdoor bath ambiance was fantastic, and with the sauna, I had the best sleep ever. If you stay here, make sure to experience the bath! 4. The next day, into the great outdoors: Mount Aso 🌋 After a good night’s sleep, I rented a car and headed to Mount Aso! 🚗 Leaving the city behind, I was greeted by the grand crater and vast grasslands, which felt incredibly liberating. It was a refreshing contrast to the city’s gourmet tour, offering a different kind of natural healing. 📝 Kumamoto Travel Summary Food: Successfully tried the melt-in-your-mouth horse meat at Suganoya! 🐴 Accommodation: Relaxed with a healing bath and night view at Candeo Hotels Sky Spa 🛁 Itinerary: Ate delicious food, rested well, and explored Mount Aso—a perfect travel course!
