Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Woramahawihan, Bang Khen

Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Woramahawihan, Bangkhen is a first-class royal temple. It was originally called Wat Prachathipatai and is located near the current Bangkhen roundabout. This temple has a history of politics during the time of Field Marshal P. Phibunsongkhram. It was renamed Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Woramahawihan because the relics of the Lord Buddha were brought from India to be enshrined inside a beautiful golden pagoda covered with another layer of white pagoda. Inside the pagoda, you can go in and chant and meditate. There are 4 entrances and exits, with good ventilation, cool and peaceful air. There are morning and evening prayers led by nuns. Outside, there is a Bodhi tree that the embassy brought branches of the Bodhi tree from the pilgrimage sites in India and planted on the island in the middle of the water on both sides of the main pagoda. You can walk there and sit and feed the fish. The atmosphere in the temple is peaceful and shady. There are large trees providing shade and green areas for relaxation. - Getting to the temple is easy and convenient. You can go by private car, with plenty of parking. If you don't have a car, you can take a bus because it is near the Bangkhen bus station.
