This is a gateway to the Gobi Desert, and many travelers pass through here to visit various attractions in southern Mongolia. I got on a pre-booked vehicle and arrived at the entrance of the canyon after about an hour and a half. As soon as I arrived, the clean air and magnificent mountain scenery unfolded before my eyes.⛰️ There was a small museum at the entrance of the canyon, where I could get information about the flora, fauna, and terrain of the Gobi region. There were exhibits introducing Mongolia's diverse wild animals and unique ecosystems, so I was able to have an interesting time before starting my trip!! As soon as I started trekking, the magnificent canyon scenery unfolded. The rock cliffs on both sides were so high that they blocked the sky, and a clear stream flowed between them. As I walked slowly along the canyon and looked around, I could really feel why this place is called the ‘Jewel of Mongolia’. I could hear the chirping of birds everywhere, and I could even see the Mongolian wild sheep, the ibex, climbing the cliff from afar~🐑 As I walked, the canyon became narrower and narrower, and as I entered a deep place where sunlight could not reach, the air suddenly became cold. And finally, I saw ice that did not melt even in midsummer. Even though it was August, there was still ice on the ground, and the cold wind brushed against my skin, adding to the mysterious atmosphere. I couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Is this really the middle of the desert?’ When I touched the ice with my hand, I was even more surprised to see that it remained solid even under the summer sun!!😬 As I walked deeper into the canyon, I felt as if I had entered another world. Everything was quiet and peaceful, and only the sound of the wind and footsteps echoed. I could feel the wonders of nature with my whole body while walking, and it was so touching to be able to experience the hidden beauty of Mongolia firsthand~👏 On the way out of the valley after finishing the trekking, it felt like I was returning to reality from another space. As I came out to the place where the sunlight was shining, warm air enveloped me again, and the vast Gobi Desert spread out before my eyes. Visiting Period: June to September is the best time, and even during this period, there are often ice remaining deep in the valley. 2. What to Bring: It is recommended to bring comfortable hiking shoes, a windbreaker, water, and snacks. 3. Transportation: It is common to rent a car in Dalangzadgad or use a local tour. 4.
