Longtan Lake Park in Beijing during early summer

At six o'clock in the morning, Longtan Lake Park has just opened, and visitors are coming in an endless stream. The majority of the early exercisers are running or speed walking. The park is filled with lush greenery, and the iconic Ferris wheel stands out under the sunlight, a legacy left from Beijing's first amusement park last century. Longtan Lake Park offers a variety of water sports activities, including boating, and the trendy kayaking and paddleboarding are very popular. There are professional coaches who provide both indoor and on-water training, allowing participants to experience the endless charm of water sports. Early in the morning, photography enthusiasts gather, waiting for the visit of precious birds. The Beijing Citizens' Garden Festival held during the May Day holiday has concluded, but the summer flowers are still in full bloom. Longtan Lake Park is located opposite Longtan Park, and it used to be the Beijing Amusement Park. Re-designed and rebuilt on the original site, Longtan Lake Park officially opened in September 2021, with no admission fee.
