Gubei Water Town, the dream of Jiangnan in the suburbs of Beijing

🚗 Departing from Beijing, a two-hour drive will take you to that place that haunts my dreams—Gubei Water Town. The bluestone paths, gently rocking boats, and babbling water seem to transport me into the gentleness and tenderness of Jiangnan. 🏞️ Every step taken is a deep embrace of the Jiangnan water towns. Every brick and tile, every corner of Gubei Water Town, is filled with endless poetry and comfort. I am intoxicated by this tranquility and beauty, as if I am in a dreamy Jiangnan world. 🌟 On May 18th, I had the honor of attending the launch ceremony of the town's 'City of Light' project. It was a feast of light, centered on 'light' and infused with the patriotic sentiment of the 'Qi's Army', which made me deeply feel the light of civilization of the Chinese nation for five thousand years. Here, the blend of light and history made me feel as if I had traveled through time and experienced that glorious history. 📷 During my day in Gubei Water Town, I strolled along the stone paths and captured every touching moment with my camera. The tranquility of the Blue Bridge, the brilliance of the Red Makeup Bridge, the grandeur of the Chao River Bridge... each bridge has its unique story and charm. The traditional Chinese fabrics of the Yongshun Dye House, fluttering in the wind, are breathtakingly beautiful when photographed from the second floor. There are also the Dock Inn, Yinghua Academy, Tanghe Ancient Village... each site is captivating. 🏰 In addition to these beautiful sights, Gubei Water Town has many other points of interest worth visiting. For example, the Simatai Great Wall, the only ancient Great Wall in our country that retains its original Ming Dynasty appearance and is also the only Great Wall that can be visited at night. Standing on the Great Wall, overlooking the entire water town, the grandeur and shock are indescribable. 🎫 This trip to Gubei Water Town has given me a profound experience of the charm of Jiangnan water towns and the weight of history.
