Winter in Burqin is truly a paradise for snow scenery lovers! This time, I checked in at the Kanas Hemu Holiday Resort Hotel, a newly opened high-end resort under InterContinental, a true happy home for ski enthusiasts❄️ 🍃 Location and Transportation • The hotel is just 50 meters from the entrance of the East Zone of Jiekepulin International Ski Resort, allowing you to ski in and out as soon as the slopes open (convenient enough to make a storm cry), no need to take shuttle buses at all • You can overlook the entire ski slope from the elevator, open the window to see the snowy Altai Mountains, accompanied by the natural BGM—the rustling sound of skis sliding on snow • During peak season, it’s recommended to book a room facing the ski slope in advance; drinking coffee by the floor-to-ceiling window while watching the snowy slopes in the morning mist is amazing ⛷️ Ski Friendliness Maxed Out • A ski equipment rental shop is expected to open on B1 floor; guests with their own gear can use the hotel’s ski storage racks • Rooms are designed with extra-large storage space, allowing you to spread out and dry ski clothes and goggles • After April, choose higher floors for skiing; the sunlight melts the surface snow, making the view clearer 🏔️ Recommended Photo Spots 1. Compared to guesthouses like Jiduo Mountain Lodge, the 200+ rooms mean much less booking pressure • InterContinental members remember to redeem points; the base room offers incredible value in the off-season • Construction is on the east side, so choosing a west-facing room won’t be affected (though the west side is warmer in the afternoon) I also got a sneak peek of the Indigo’s under-construction starry sky bar and hot spring pool; definitely planning a second visit when they open at the end of the year!
