To promote Chaozhou's long-standing traditional ceramic craftsmanship and showcase decades of archaeological research on the Bijiashan Chaozhou Kiln Site—a protected cultural heritage unit—while facilitating the practical application of these findings, the Chaozhou Museum (Yuedong Archaeological Center) and the Guangdong Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology have jointly organized the special exhibition "Song Dynasty 'Chaozhou' Porcelain Tales: Archaeological Achievements of the Bijiashan Chaozhou Kiln Site" in celebration of the 2025 International Museum Day on May 18. "Song Dynasty 'Chaozhou' Porcelain Tales" marks the first comprehensive display of archaeological discoveries from the Bijiashan Chaozhou Kiln Site since the 1980s and the new millennium, with most exhibits being publicly revealed for the first time. Dubbed the "Hundred-Kiln Village" and historically known as the "Shuidong Kiln" or "White Porcelain Kiln," it thrived during the Tang and Song dynasties, earning the title "Ceramic Capital of Song Dynasty Guangdong." As a key export hub, its products—ranging from household items like bowls, plates, cups, and teapots to artistic pieces like vases, figurines, and toys—were traded globally.
