Tianfu Square, the heart of the city

Tianfu Square is located in Section 1 of Renmin South Road, Chengdu, and is the political and cultural center and comprehensive transportation hub of Sichuan Province and Chengdu. The square covers an area of 88,000 square meters and is rectangular in shape. To its north is the statue of Chairman Mao Zedong, which is 30 meters high. The entire square is a plane of the Eight Diagrams Tai Chi Flying Bird, and in the center is the pattern of the Sun God Bird, the mascot of the ancient Shu Kingdom. The partially sunken square is on the east side of the square. Tianfu Square has become one of Chengdu's iconic buildings, representing Chengdu's urban image and cultural characteristics, and is an important landmark in the city's development.
