Are poets trying to steal the jobs of painters?

Poets holding art exhibitions in Chengdu, during the white nights, is not the first time, but it still surprises me: He Xiaozhu can actually paint so well? As a non-professional painter, it is said that He Xiaozhu started painting very early, and it was only last year that he began to paint consciously. Personally, I feel that poets have a natural advantage in abstract painting, as abstract art is often related to poetry and philosophy. The thought processes are similar; it's just that the final presentation is either text or image. However, his paintings are not entirely abstract, combining the intangible with the tangible. The cover is 'On the Way Back to Huayang in a Downpour,' which is quite realistic. The two blue paintings in Image 3, 'Reading Calvino Until Three in the Morning' and 'Listening to Karen Mok Singing,' are quite abstract. The two sets of works in Image 2, I find particularly interesting. The figures in the paintings seem to be staring at an apple, and the label underneath the apple says 'An apple from fresh to rotten.' Then there is the only black and white work on site, which feels like a person has arrived in a foreign land with a suitcase, or like the only astronaut who has landed on some planet in outer space, confused and lonely. His paintings of horses, with the blurred effect, seem to be due to the effect of passing by quickly. His paintings of the sea (Image 6 above) look like murals due to the mottled effect, appearing static. Sometimes the titles of the works also have a contrast; Image 7 gives me a feeling of being more European classical, but the title of the work is 'The Mirror in the Barber Shop,' which brings the visual impression back to a very everyday scene. After all, He Xiaozhu's profession is a poet, and his poetry has already received a lot of recognition. There are still many of his poems available to read on site.
